Top-Notch Video Performance
The XBR KDL-46XBR4 is a 1080p television with a full 1920 x 1080 resolution, the highest resolution available for the sharpest, clearest picture. The KDL-46XBR uses the most recent HDMI 1.3 interface, which houses both audio and video signals in one connector and has the bandwidth to support the data needed for the high resolution. Sony's Bravia Engine Pro Full Digital Video Processor upconverts all video signals to 1080p so you can watch all your old DVDs on this glorious display.
Sony complements the high resolution with the latest technology in color reproduction. The KDL-46XBR is a 10-bit display with 10-bit processing. Most panels are only 8-bit. The added bit depth here means a larger color palette for more faithful color reproduction and smoother transitions from one color to the next. Additionally, the display also supports the new x.v.Color standard, which dramatically increases the available color space. The end result is a picture that is so detailed, colorful, and vibrant, you'd have a hard time distinguishing it from real life.
The KDL-46XBR4 features Sony's Motionflow technology, which automatically adjusts for and applies the proper processing for optimal motion reproduction depending on the video input. This includes support for 24 frames per second (24p) video, which displays video content at the 24-frames-per-second rate at which it was originally filmed or recorded. With 24p, you get the most faithful possible reproduction of the original.
A Wide Variety of Inputs
This Sony television's wide variety of inputs ensures compatibility with your other home theater components. There are three HDMI connections for Blu-Ray, HD DVD, and other technologies requiring the high bandwidth, and two component video inputs, three composite video inputs, one S-Video input, one PC Audio and Video input, and five analog audio inputs. Even with a collection of legacy components, you shouldn't have a problem connecting to the KDL-46XBR4.

Sony's Xross Media Bar interface is an award-winning, intuitive on-screen display that makes setup a breeze, with menus and controls logically laid out for quick access. The KDL-46XBR4 also features Theatre Sync technology, based on the HDMI-CEC standard, which means you can easily connect to and control compatible devices. For example, when the KDL-46XBR4 is connected to a compatible DVD player, you can turn on both the DVD player and the television and start playing a DVD with a single push of a button on the remote. When you're done, another push of a button powers everything down. With Theatre Sync, you can spend time enjoying the movie rather than waste time setting everything up.

Sony Bravia 46XBR4 and Amazon Rock!.......2007-12-25 Purchased this TV from Amazon and about a week later it arrived on time by Eagle shipping without any problems. I must say that with the Dish HD signal the picture is amazing. The colors and clarity are second to none.
Without the high def signal the picture is just okay so if you buy this set you gotta go high def.
Plus what's great about Amazon is their price protection policy which saved me another $100 since the price went down about 30 days after I made the purchase. This made it the best deal anywhere and I've researched the TV and the market for months. I'm a happy camper no doubt. Now all I need is either the Blue Ray or HD DVD player and I'm set. I'm going to wait and see who wins that war and by next year the prices will go down to something more reasonable.
It also does magic with your regular DVDs.......2007-12-24 I am so in love with this TV. I saw it at my local Sony store and was blown aways by it's incredible display, the Blu Ray pictures (3) that I saw look so real that anyone could swear that the scenes were happening there and you were only divided by a window. I tough to myself what a great technology Blu Ray and bought the TV and a Blu Ray player (actually a PS3). The GREAT thing is that I didn't have great expectations about REGULAR DVDs but anyway, I hooked my old DVD PLAYER via component (progressive scanning at 480p) and let me tell you that this TV with its MOTION FLOW TECHNOLOGY (120HZ) also does magic with all my regular DVDs! Now I want to watch them all over again, the MOTION FLOW is so unbelievable!! I know SONY have always made good tvs, I know Blu Ray is a great technology, etc, etc, but let me tell you: the great MAGIC this TV does is because of its MOTION FLOW technology and it is what set apart this TV from the others. Only the XBR4 and XBR5 tvs have this feature.
Great LCD HDTV.......2007-12-24 WE purchased this TV through Amazon and had a great purchase experience with the delivery being on time and the setup was fine. This is a great TV and after months of trying to decide and research I am glad I stuck with the Sony and this purchase. I love watching TV again especially sports and in HD mode are great. My son's Xbox 360 games are incredible on this TV. I am totally satisfied with my Sony LCD TV purchase and would buy another one without hesitation. I also really like Amazon and how they do business. If your looking for an LCD HDTV this is the one.
SONY knows TV's.......2007-12-22 I am very happy with my purchase. I know what most will be saying that an LCD is not worth that much money. All I know is I hooked up the PS3 and the games run and look awesome. I would highly recommend the Sony XBR line to anyone that wants the best possible picture with and LCD screen.
Would not hesitate to purchase again.
Outstanding.......2007-12-18 My two cents worth. Most of the reviews on this Bravia are dead on. I've been looking at flat screens for months and decided on this one a month ago. I love it. The picture quality is outstanding. I have nothing bad to say about it and have yet to see anything that can compare. I also have a PS3 and directv hd/dvr. Who needs to go to the movies anymore? Not me.
