HDTV is the latest and best television signal available. It produces picture quality more than twice that of traditional analog broadcasts. In order to effectively maximize the HDTV signal, a television must incorporate advanced signal input connectivity
Auto Picture button on the remote control enables one-touch selection of various preset optimized image settings to suit different TV program. Do refer to the DFU for the various Smart Picture modes.
The 3D comb filter separates brightness and color signals better in 3D domain to eliminate cross-color, cross-luminance and dot-crawl distortion - all of which detract from your viewing pleasure. The 3D digital comb filter performs field-by-field comparisons of the television image to accurately separate the color from the black-and-white information and remove both horizontally and vertically hanging dots, as well as dot crawl. The result is a razor sharp image.
Auto Sound provides pre-defined sound settings for ultra bass, bass, treble and balance for the optimum entertainment experience.
Crystal Clear III combines a whole range of enhancements to provide a better picture. They include a 2D Comb filter, Dynamic contrast, Blue stretch and Green enhancement so that you always get the most natural looking colors.
A DVI-D input makes an uncompressed digital RGB connection from source to screen. By eliminating the conversion of the digital signal to analog, it delivers an unblemished image. Thanks to the non-degraded signal, you get less flicker and a clearer picture. The DVI input is fully backward compatible with HDMI sources, and also uses HDCP copy protection.
This design style emphasizes a slim, compact look that saves space and fits in anywhere.
Incredible Surround is an audio technology from Philips that dramatically magnifies the sound field to immerse you in the audio. Using state-of-the-art electronic phase shifting, Incredible Surround mixes sounds from left and right in such a way that it expands the virtual distance between the two speakers. This wider spread greatly enhances the stereo effect and creates a more natural sound dimension. Incredible Surround allows you to experience total surround with greater depth and width of sound, without the use of additional speakers.
With PC input you can connect your TV to a computer and use the TV as a PC monitor.

I bought this TV, sight unseen, with little research into LCD TVs or even into the HDTV technology.
I love my little TV. It has a great picture quality and the sound is incredible!
The remote is easy to use, and the weight of the TV itself is amazing. I can set this on a bookcase and not have to invest in a piece of furniture just for the TV. It's definitely a product I would recommend.

Great price for what you get, but the quality of hte product isn't all that great. The picture isn't as crisp and clear as you would expect. I thought the sound was fine. Overall if you have to pay more than $300 it's not a good deal.
Poor service from philips.......2007-05-29
MY tv needed repair and i was told to shipped it to arkansas which cost me $46.I did on april 24. i receive a refub on mAY7.It worked for 5 min. i shipped it back may8. Philips did pay for the shipping but as of MAY 28 i am still waiting for a replacement.I was told they should know something by JUNE

Great TV, Terrible Customer Support.......2007-05-15
This is a great television for its size. The closed captioning is a bit difficult to read due to the font size. The remote control is a bit small. The colors associated with the predefined picture settings are not great, needs to be adjusted.
My original set was defective near the end of the first year under warranty. The customer support is terrible, spent on the average of 50 minutes on at least 3 occasions. The first set (Day 1 thru Day 20), Philips screwed up the address. The second set (Day 21 thru Day 40), FedEx delivered to the wrong address. The third set (Day 41 thru Day 50), was refurbished and defective (would not turn on, gone through troubleshooting with Customer Support). After the frustration and aggravation with Customer Support, my case was escalated to Consumer Relations. The individual in Consumer Relations stated that Philips will pick up the cost to ship the defective third set back to them and offered a buyback. Despite a satisfactory resolution and a great television, Philips Customer Support is disappointing, a customer will be told 15-20 days for a replacement set to be ordered and sent. Hopefully my experience with Customer Support was an isolated incident.
