Bought this product from my bedroom. Very Satisfied with the purchase, would recommend, use it with Direct TV Box. Only problem, cannot get one remote to manage box Direct TV Reciever and TV. No universal I have found works with this TV.
good budget LCD TV.......2007-09-19
I bought this LCD for $399.00 on the mark from BuyDigg.com this past summer. I've had the TV for 3 months and I am satisfied. Ok so i will get to the nitty gritty.
Pros:

Cons:
Limited inputs, you only have one HDMI.
Some DVD upconverted can be a bit grainy or subpar...this is probably just the upconvert on the DVD player. However some DVDs(primarily new ones) upconverted look awesome. Batman Begins is probably the best one i have seen so far. The worst i have seen so far...teenage mutant ninja turtles(1989 version)
The composite standard signal from inputs is really just lousy. I mean...it's watchable. It is just very fuzzy and bad. I just unhooked my directv and put it on my old CRT in the floor.
I like this TV. I have become sort of an anal videophile with picture though and I do plan on buying a new tv in January-Febrary for a few reasons
1) I need more inputs for HDMI if i get a blu ray or HD DVD and a game console
2) I just want the best quality tv I can find at 32"
I would absolutely buy this TV is you don't want to spend over 500 dollars for a 27" LCD.
If you have more money and want to spend more...by all means go for it, there are better tvs. But this one was quite a deal.
Great monitor / TV Deal.......2007-09-18
This is the second one of these I've bought. The first was for myself; the second was a gift for my son, who drooled all over mine. I use mine as a TV with a tuner, and he uses his as a PC monitor for his recording-studio setup. The quality is very good. Nice features (like being able to easily set up for a bright-light area, which is where mine is). Sound on the attached speakers is pretty good, too! Nice unit at a great price.
Best Purchase I've Made All Year.......2007-08-18
First: this is a great TV at an amazingly low price. If you are on a budget and are looking for a great deal this is it.
The downsides for this TV are well known: only one set of inputs for Component and HDMI; the remote is clumsy; no picture in picture; sound quality from stock speakers is "meh". Build quality not as high (cheap plastic look to it) as Sony or Samsung.
However: those are minor quibbles.
I have this monitor hooked up via the following: IO HDTV via HDMI, progressive scan DVD player via component, XBOX (original) via S-Video, and finally to my laptop via VGA.
I can tell you that the clarity of the picture when watching both motion and still images (Yankees games vs. nature shows) is amazing when hooked up via the HDMI cable to my Cablevision box.
DVD wise, I watched "Children of Men" last night and was also impressed: even at only 480p it looked great.
XBOX games look OK via the S-Video and slightly better via component. I'm sure if I had a next-gen console with the higher end outputs it would look much better. Halo 2 still turns heads at 480p.
Don't sleep on the VGA input as well. I have a nothing special laptop that I hook up and use with a wireless keyboard and mouse. Screen looks crisp and readable from a little under 10 feet away. It's great to be able to surf the internet from my couch and not strain my eyes.
CONCLUSION:
Bottom line is that you can spend $400 (shop around on the Internet) for this TV and get essentially the same picture quality as a $700-$900 TV from Sony or Samsung. Even with its well documented limitations this is still a must buy. It might be a little small for a large living room, but in my cramped NYC apt it works excellent as our main entertainment center TV. Most people will probably find this TV works best in a den or bedroom.
My first HDTV for PS3, Xbox 360.......2007-08-14
This is my best purchase ever. I bought it from 6Ave electronics from one of Amazon's merchants. $438 plus free shipping! I have never owned an HDTV and this was my first. For its price, the image quality is great and comparable to known brands such as Samsung which may costs over $800. If you want a great HDTV for the lowest price, you can't go wrong choosing this set. I used to play on my Trinitron 36 Sony XBR TV but now Olevia looks just as great. The only thing I dont like about this HDTV is that there is only one set of each input. One for component, One for S-video, One for HDMI, etc.
Buy this if you are on budget. You won't regret it.
