Good picture - needs better features.......2007-03-25

I use analog cable only with this unit in a bedroom location.
Pros: Picture is very good given the analog signal source. Plenty of audio for our bedroom setting. Unit looks good.
Cons: The remote must be pointed within a very narrow angle range towards the receiver for it to pick up the remotes signal. The onscreen channel numbers are very small and hard to read at a distance. I have found no way to increase font size. Long delay in unit turn on with remote make you keep pushing the power button and hoping you have it pointed at the proper angle. Would rate it at between 3 and 4 out of 5.

Excellent Value.......2007-03-24

This LCD TV displays brilliant color when watching HD TV. It does not have the pip function for TV as advertised. It does not have audio out. You can defeat that by hooking up your cable box to your Home Theater System. I also would recommend using a HDMI cable to connect the TV to your cable box, it provides a superior picture than using the component cables (less image artifacts). I have an XBOX 360 connected and the games are beautiful. There is a problem watching XBOX 360 dvd on the LCD but I use the xbox for gaming. If using a Home theater system with a DVD make sure you buy Widescreen format DVD's and configure your DVD player accordingly

Don't call customer service.......2007-03-19

I was having trouble getting it to play DVDs through the component video connections, so I called Samsung's customer service. The girl I talked to gave me no useful information. By reading through the manuals of both my DVD player and the TV, I learned that it would work if I used an HDMI cable. I haven't had any problems since.

Good and Bad.......2007-03-08

There is problem with this TV and I had to return. The price is lowest of somewhat 30-40% of in-store and free delivery. service of Amazom is excellent, fast, free and professional. I will stay with Amazon as long as they have the one I want.

Need warranty repair........forget it.......2007-03-04

Purchased this TV from Walmart, on Feb 1'st. On Feb 13, took it to the repair shop for warranty repair. Was told after 5 days, that the part that it needed was no longer available. And that they would send me a replacement TV. The TV was a 2005 model, manufactured in 3/2006. Was asked to fax my receipt. Samsung gets my receipt and says that it is to blurred to read. Have spent hours on hold trying to get to their customer support about the TV. I feel that since I have called several times to try to get some answers that Samsung is recognizing my name or case number and just ignoring my being on hold. Yesterday was on hold for an hour and a half with music playing in my ear. Monday, I will fax them an 8X10 copy of my receipt that I hope will not be too blurred to read. So things are still up in the air. Was getting the TV for a bedroom, and had plans to buy a 40 inch soon. No way, will I buy it from a Samsung dealer. With all this calling and waiting, my 30 day return policy has passed and I stuck having to make payments on it. I had the TV for about 10 days, and even though it was my first LCD type TV , had to learn about it. I could not turn it on or off, except with the remote. Neither did the controls on the side work. So I can not give any opinion about picture quality or anything..........just want them to send my replacement TV. So beware of needing any repair while in warranty. And if your TV is not working as it should, take it back and do it quickly, and forget about having any warranty work done. Like pulling wisdom teeth.
