Great TV.......2007-12-25

Had it a month and a great TV. Have not seen the triple-ball effect. Possibly it's the latest firmware in my set or I just don't look that closely. Also not a big sports viewer. The TV's tuner gets a number of digital channels and some HD with straight in cable, no cable box. No regrets.

Wow what a great price....been watching the price go down on this TV for the past 2 to 3 months. My order went in at 2099.98 two days later they drop the price to 1999.98, with one (1) quick email to customer service they credited my account the 100 dollar differance the next day! This same TV @ BB is 2800 and at CC it's around 2500 plus tax, I just wonder how many hoops I would need to jump through for a price reduction at one of these stores. WOW!...Amazon you are amazing..you got me as a customer for life...what a deal.....set should arrive by Friday...

A fabulous LCD TV at a great price........2007-12-24

After a few months of research and many trips to the box stores to compare TVs, I decided to buy this Samsung last week. The price is $1000 less than it was just a few weeks ago and about $500 less than my local Best Buy. It has all the latest options: 1080p, 120 Hz, detailed setting controls. Coupled with Amazon's free delivery, it seemed like a good deal.

I purchased the TV last Sunday. It was delivered Wednesday. After the delivery guys set it up, I attached a new upconverting DVD player. On Thursday I upgraded my cable TV service to digital.

Simply put, this TV is fabulous. The picture is incredible; it is everything I wanted with an LCD. The settings are flexible and pretty easy to adjust once you get familiar with them. The picture is bright and big, the colors are dazzling, and the image responsiveness is great. The sound is pretty good too.

Color and darkness contrast are really quite good. The 120 Hz Auto-Motion refresh rate has four settings: high, medium, low, and off. For older or classic movies the most comfortable setting is "off": this is how I best enjoyed watching "The Wizard of Oz" last night in HD on the TNT HD channel. (The colors and image sharpness were incredible.) Newer movies look good with the Auto-Motion setting at "low" or "medium." This provides an increased level of image fluidity for movies such as "Lord of the Rings" and "Finding Nemo" that actually looks better than the original. And for live event broadcasts, the picture literally looks alive when Auto-Motion is set to "high." Not only sports broadcast such as ESPN HD, but also concerts on the HD music channel are simply amazing. My son and I watched a Red Hot Chili Peppers concert this way and I swear it appeared as if you could reach through the screen and touch the band.

I don't know how TV can get any better than this. I am completely happy with my purchase and with the delivery service that went with it.

thus far,approx. 1 mo., no problemo since getting some configurations stats from the avs forum- i highly recommend that my fellow samsung newbies check this site, its loaded with information, with a very considerate forum. okay, back to the set, i've yet to view anything via blu-ray(after x-mas day that should change), but so far viewing regular dvd via up-conversion has been a revelation, there's no need for me to exchange them for bluray seeing as they look so good on the sammylcd; and then again, x-mas awaits me...

Phenomenal picture quality!.......2007-12-23

Have been eyeing this TV for a few months now, and with Amazons $1000 off sale a few weeks ago, just could not pass this deal up. Absolute top quality picture.

Paired this TV up with a Denon AVR-2808 surround sound receiver, which up converts all video signals to 1080P using the Faroudja iDCD video processing chip. Wow, just wow is all I can really say with these 2 paired together!

I Have Verizon FIOS HD, a gaming PC running at 1920 x 1080 resolution, and now an HD-DVD (A30 model) hooked up to it. Doesn't matter if its an SD or HD signal, they all look fantastic.
