I purchased this transmitter wondering if it would live up to the ratings it had already received. The first day I used it, I decided it was absolutely perfect. No static at all. I live on the outskirts of a large city, so, just about all the radio stations are in use, but I finally found one that worked, tried the transmitter with my mp3 player, and it works great. I would definitely recommend the transmitter to anybody who needed one.

Yes it's fragile and must be tweaked, but where else you going to find a transmitter that ALSO powers your CD player AND works on ___ANY___ frequency for so cheap? I don't care for the noise it picks up and you have to crank up the volume to max and the tuning knob is very imprecise; you have to get it JUUUUUST right. But it's cheap, it powers your CD player and it works on any frequency (has come in handy before). I've had to replace two because the power plug broke and one just stopped transmitting (no I didn't spill anything on it). I'm on my third unit, but it's good enough for me.

The analog tuner drift keeps you having to tweak the dial, and at best, it's not much better than AM sound quality. Still, it's at least as good as the other FM transmitter I have experience with.
Construction is cheap, and the unit is built to dangle from the cables. But the cables are cheap too, so they eventually wear out from fatigue. That's how mine died.
However, much to my irritation, I cannot find a replacement with the essential DC output to power my trusty mp3 CD player. So here I am buying another one. Therefore, soundfeeder gets 4 stars and nobody else gets any.
Product is ok if price and expectations are both low.
Better than most.......2005-12-16
Overall, car adapter FM transmitters appear to perform better than battery operated ones. Ultimately it would seem to be an issue of power. With excellent signal strength and a full range of FM stations (from 87.7 and up as opposed to 88.1 and up) the Soundfeeder provided me with excellent audio and very little changing between stations even on long trips. The only drawbacks to the Soundfeeder would be in it's construction. I went through two of these in a year. The first fell apart in my car adapter port, causing vital parts to become lost in my console and the second just started refusing to work except when placed in specific postions and then just died altogether. The only other problem I had was that the unit somehow amplified the noise of my car's engine and as I would drive you could hear a faint buzzing, which corresponded to my engine hum. Other than these minor difficulties the Soundfeeder performed admirably and in a world designed for the iPod at least there's some option for those of us who didn't pay too much for our MP3 players.

' This is the only FM transmitter I have ever owned so my opinions as to how it compares with a battery powered unit are somewhat speculative though several of my friends use battery powered transmitters, and other than the batteries dieing, seem pretty happy with them.
' The fact that this unit can use any FM station in the band is great in terms of versatility, however it becomes a liability when combined with the device's 'drift' issues. For me, drift seems to be largely related to moving into range of different sources of interference rather than the unit getting bumped or warming up. I am not sure if my experience with the device is typical, but along the route a take to work (40mi) there are no channels that do not broadcast at least some of the time. Fortunately, some stations are weak enough that I can broadcast over them. I usually have to adjust the unit about every 10-20 miles, occasional adjustment does not bother me too much, but if you expect to plug the thing in and just leave it you might want to pick an transmitter with preset transmitting stations and just hope at least one of those channels is free in your area.
' The quality of the electronics that converts the sound input to a FM signal is not the best, but if you set the volume on your discman low enough it greatly reduces distortion and clipping. The problem with this is that you have to compensate by turning your radio volume up a bit, and if you come in range of a radio station the static can be uncomfortably loud instead of just annoying. The device is susceptible to electromagnetic interference, sometimes just honking my horn causes a crackle of static, I am not sure if that differs from other devices though, and once the interference is gone it works fine again.
' My MP3 player draws up to an amp of current and the documentation for the SF100 says it can only supply up to 500 milliAmps. So, I have no experience with the devices ability to supply power to another device. However, the SF100's connection with my cigarette lighter is very stable and I have not had to adjust it since I first plugged it in 10 days ago.
' I paid $35 for two of these, including shipping, and definitely feel that I got my money's worth.

A good fit.......2007-03-15
The TV sits at a comfortable height on the stand. It's well built of MDF, and comes mostly assembled, only the shelf mounts need to be screwed in. It is short, so it won't fit too many devices, but I've got a receiver, DVR, DVD and Xbox connected with plenty of room to spare. A good deal for a solid piece of furniture, and a good fit for a nice TV.

The 1080p picture is just stunning! I have only one minor complaint: there are not enough choices for formatting.
