Like other TVs in the Bravia line, the KDL32S2000 uses Sony's Wide Color Cold Compact Fluorescent Light (WCG-CCFL) to display a color gamut almost 30 percent larger than a conventional CCFL display, which results in deeper reds, more vivid greens, and cleaner blues. It also offers a high response time (also referred to as refresh rate) of 8 milliseconds (ms), which is able to clearly portray fast-moving images across the screen with well-defined edges and without ghosting (streaking or shadowing). The set's Light Sensor feature intelligently adjusts the screen brightness to match the ambient light in a room, ensuring a comfortable viewing experience.

BRAVIA televisions' new Super-Patterned Vertical Alignment (S-PVA) panels divide pixels into more segments than was possible with PVA (Pattered Vertically Aligned) technology. These segments have an incredibly fast 8-millisecond response time that increases the television's refresh rate. Dividing the pixel display into more segments also allows a cleaner break between dark and light pixels, improving viewing angles, color, and contrast.

It also features the latest in Sony's unique S-PVA (Super Patterned Vertical Alignment) LCD panel technology, which divides each sub-pixel into two segments per color for a more refined consistency in colors, contrast, and brightness at wide viewing angles. This seventh generation Sony LCD panel was specially crafted at Sony's plant and produced from one of the world's biggest mother glass (a huge sheet of glass that can be divided to create multiple LCD panels).

The KDL32S2000 has a 1366 x 768-pixel resolution, 16:9 widescreen aspect ratio, 178-degree viewing angle, and 1300:1 contrast ratio. (The higher the contrast ratio, the greater a TV's ability to display subtle color details and not get washed out by ambient room light.) The Cinemotion 3:2 pulldown cinema video processing detects and compensates film--which is shot at 24 frames per second (fps) compared with video's 30 fps rate--to video for a smooth theaterlike experience at home. The 3D digital comb filter offers 10-bit signal processing that renders superb gradation of grays, resulting in superior picture detail.

HDMI is a lossless, uncompressed, all-digital audio/video interface to link any audio/video source (such as a set-top box, DVD player, or AV receiver) with your TV--all over a single cable. HDMI supports standard, enhanced or high definition video, plus multi-channel digital audio on a single cable. It supports all ATSC formats--standard (SDTV), enhanced (EDTV), and high (HDTV).

Component video (also called Y/Pb/Pr) features a three-jack video input, which provides separate connections for luminance (Y), blue color difference (PB) and red color difference (PR). Nearly Perfect.......2007-01-04

I have owned this television now for approximately 8 months, and have owned the 46" version for nearly 6. My only regret is that there isn't a 50+ incher to add to my collection of these televisions. In this confusing day of Full HD (1080p) versus 1080i versus 720p (which is what these televisions are), there is a lot of hype. Trust me when I say its just that. At the sizes this television is available, 32", 40", and 46", only a bird of prey will be able to discern a difference in picture quality from a High Definition Source. The last time I checked, these avian creatures weren't really into the consumer electronics market, so this television (at its ridiculously low price) provides everything that someone looking for an awesome HD experience would need.

I've often seen car analogies used when comparing electronics equipment, so I'll do the same. The Sony Bravia S2000 series of televisions are the Toyota Camry/Honda Accord of the flat screen television market. Sure, there are sexier, higher performance flat screens out there...but if you're wanting a solid performer (incidentally actually made in Japan...not China or Korea) that delivers an outstanding, glare free, burn-in free experience....then this is the television for you.

Good product. I have some concerns about picture quality with cable, but my converter box only allows a coax connection from the converter box to my TV, so that could be the limitation on picture quality. The DVD quality is much better and I have not purchased an HDMI cable yet. I am curious to see how much that improves the picture quality.

Comparing the picture on this Sony to others side-by-side in stores made this an easy choice - and Amazon's price and free shipping sealed it for me. Setup was straight-forward. Only complaint is I'm having trouble finding the proper picture brightness setting - but its easy to adjust. I'm used to setting it and never touching it again - but with this set - perhaps its just HD - I need to tweak when I change channels sometimes.

Tv arrived within 5 business days of shipping. DLS unpacked and checked operation. No problems. Outstanding picture in High Def mode and good with my DVD player. However, be aware that analog channels don't upconvert very well and aren't so good. I was aware of this based on a review i had seen prior to purchase. LCD viewing angle is great. I'm very happy with the whole purchase experience and am pleased with the Product performance.

I read the reviews here and on the Avsforum. I did the research and decided to buy this tv or the XBR1 32". Wow. Everything is perfect. This cheaper model offered by Sony is definitely not cheaper in any way. I had bought a Philips 32" LCD hdtv a few months ago and promptly returned it because anything on standard definition looked like crap. On the other hand, standard definition is excellent on this TV and hdtv is simply amazing. I'm using Tv with analog cable, playstation 2 on component cables, vga for extended desktop on windows xp and a 1080i dvd upscaler. Everything is perfect, there is nothing I don't like about it. Buy this tv!
