It has a built-in ATSC tuner that pulls HD signals right from the airwaves (via an optional antenna). You can also hook up an HDMI-capable cable or satellite set-top box and enjoy the highest standard of high-definition audio and video--with a single cord connection. A standard analog NTSC tuner receives standard-definition (SD) programming. It comes with a removable tabletop stand that can be wall mounted with optional hardware.

IC Image Processing: Sylvania's state-of-the-art image processing adjusts the digital video signal in four steps, maximizing picture quality to the LCD panel's full potential.

In the first step, pixelating noise is cleaned up to produce a smoother image.

Next, Sylvania's color management adjusts each color independently to enrich the entire palette on the screen.

Contrast is adjusted and enhanced dynamically for the scene currently on display. Sylvania's edge enhancement then sharpens details and reduces 'jaggies.'

The 6626LG delivers a true 1366 x 768-pixel HDTV resolution (capable of displaying 1080i and 720p high-definition signals), and it features a wide 176-degree viewing angle, 550 cd/m2 (candela per square meter) brightness rating--perfect for viewing colorful details in even direct sunlight--and high 1000:1 contrast ratio. (The higher the contrast ratio, the greater a TV's ability to display subtle color details and not get washed out by ambient room light.) It also offers a very fast 8ms (millisecond) response time, which is great for watching fast-moving sports and action movies.

The 3D comb filter further enhances resolution by removing blurred edges between colors and reducing dot crawl (tiny, moving dots of color along a sharp color separation in a vertical line, as in a depiction of a character's striped T-shirt). Other features include standard picture controls (contrast, brightness, color, tint, sharpness), trilingual onscreen display (English, French, Spanish), sleep timer, closed caption decoder, and V-Chip parental controls.

This set includes two bottom-mounted stereo speakers that provide 5 watts of power per channel (for 10 watts of total power), and it provides a digital coaxial audio output for connecting to a home theater receiver for immersive surround sound. It has the following connection options:

HDMI is a lossless, uncompressed, all-digital audio/video interface to link any audio/video source (such as a set-top box, DVD player, or AV receiver) to your TV--all over a single cable. HDMI supports standard, enhanced, or high-definition video, plus multi-channel digital audio, on a single cable. It supports all ATSC formats--standard (SDTV), enhanced (EDTV), and high (HDTV).

Component Video (also called Y/Pb/Pr) features a three-jack video input, which provides separate connections for luminance (Y), blue color difference (PB), and red color difference (PR). This results in increased bandwidth for color information, resulting in a more accurate picture with clearer color reproduction and less bleeding than you would get with S-Video or composite (RCA yellow video plug) connections. You will need a separate RCA left/right audio cable for sound.

Response Time refers specifically to LCD monitors and the amount of time it takes for a liquid crystal cell to switch from active (black) to inactive (white) and back again. It's measured in milliseconds (ms), and the lower the number the faster the response time--translating to a smoother picture with fewer pixilated or ghosted artifacts.

Conked out after a few months.......2007-07-24

I bought this TV for Christmas and it worked fine up til a month ago. Then blue lines appeared on the screen. The good news is the company promises to replace the set, the bad news is that there's none in stock. So unless I buy another TV I'm without one until a replacement comes in. Frustrating.

Working right for me ..........2007-07-11

I don't have HD satellite service yet, but this TV is tempting me to get it. Loved that I could lift it with one hand right out of the box -- will not go back to heavy picture tubes again. Picture might not be that of a high price HDTV, but I have nothing to compare it to and is perfectly fine. Like the option to have 4:3 ratio or full-screen, cinema, etc. Been using the cinema format to compensate that this replaced a 30" old tv.

It's been about 3 months that it popped out of the box and hooked up in an instant and is doing just fine. Very satisfied as to value -- if it's still working well in a couple years, I'll rave about it!

We LOVE this TV.......2007-06-26

We were amazed that we could plug in this TV and have instant HD stations for Oregon Public Broadcasting and the local networks even though we are using rabbit ears for an antenna. We don't have cable, an outside antenna or a tuner box. Sound is fine. Operation is easy. Set up was foolproof. 26" is a perfect size for our small livingroom. You can't beat the price. We are very happy!

You get what you pay for........2007-06-13

This TV works great, it is my first LCD TV. I went for the cheaper version and did not want to pay $800+ for a TV I watch just a few hours a week.
Tv was working as soon as it was out of the box and I have not had any major issues with it.
My main concerns with the TV are:
- Power on or remote ctrl power on: sometimes the green led will flicker and the TV won't turn on.
- Pause between channel surfing
- Using the remote ctrl to change channnels: often you can enter a channel # and nothing will happen.

These are minor issues that have been present since day 1 and I hope nothing else will impede the working order of this TV in the long run.

JUNK.......2007-06-07

picture went out after 3 months... when I took it to get fixed under the parts warrenty... it was still $300 to repair. JUNK
