Product Description
This 32" LCD television with integrated HDTV has advanced true wide viewing angle with 8,000:1 Dynamic Contrast Ratio and 1366 x 768p Resolution - even while viewing at the most extreme angles. Super IPS Technology reduces common distortion and blurring caused by fast motion video and also provides one of the industry's widest viewing angles (178?).LG SimpLink allows for convenient control of other LG SimpLink products using the existing HDMI connection. Six distinct processes contribute to picture improvement. LG's XD Engine takes the low resolution of analog signals to near HD levels by improving brightness, contrast, detail and enhancing color as well as reducing signal noise. This total solution results in cinema-like high-resolution images.

Bang for the Buck.......2007-12-17
LG is a well known quality maker of LCD panels for quite a while...this TV is no different. If you are looking in the 32 inch range, this is the sweet spot. You can spend lots more for other brands, or you can enjoy this high quality value. It has a stunning 32 inch 720P HD picture with a built in HD tuner. There are LOTS of ports, including 2 HDMI and 2 sets of component inputs...enough for all your high end components such as surround sound systems or XBOX or PS3 or whatever it might be! The XBOX 360 games looked incredible on this tv when I set the xbox to HDTV and 720p mode...incredible clarity. The response time is great on this LCD, making video games and movies look amazing. I think you will be VERY surprised what this TV can do for the price...I chose it after seeing it on a display wall up against 6-7 other brands...this was the sharpest most colorful picture by far, it wasn't even close.
I'd look for this model on SALE as the price seems to float around $700 or so depending where you go. My only complaint? I want the 37 inch version now too!!!
defective with unyielding customer service.......2007-11-16
I bought this TV 5 months ago. Narrowed it down to b/w Toshiba and LG. At the time both were same price. Picures seemed pretty comparable. I decided on LG because it had a feature that I uesed everyday - an on time to wake up in the morning.
Took it home, set it up. Although it had an automatic clock setting that was supposed to set to the cable signal, it never worked. So I set it manually. (the clock) I quickly found out that it lost anywhere from 3 to 8 minutes per day. Now you might think the clock is not a big deal, but if you are like me who relies on the clock and on timer to get up in the morning, it means that you have to reset the clock every day or two - an inconvience, to say the least.
So, after two main circuit board replacements which did not solve the problem, LG acknowledged that the series has a problem that they did not know how to fix. So now what? They offered to replace the TV. Sounds good, but if they are all the same, it doesn't make sense. They were unwilling to do anything other than exchange mine for another defective TV! Policy! I could go back to Circuit City and get store credit towards something else with LG's authorization letter - at a loss of $150 - the lowest price that they have sold this unit! I explained this to LG. No answer. (They would not upgrade to the next model, etiher) I asked for an extra year warranty to make me happy and for the inconvience of resetting the clock every 2 days. Answer: they don't do that. By the way, that solution would not have costed LG 1 cent!!!!
So, I could not let it go. I wrote a detailed letter explaining things in detail to the CEO LG Electronics USA. After having to call his administrative assistant 2 times, I was assured that this matter would be resolved. 2 weeks later I received a call from customer service happily informing me that they would be replacing my TV with the same model. (Did anyone ever read my letter, review the multiple records already in customer service files, etc???)
Another call to the CEO office and I was asked what I wanted. I said my money back including tax. 3 days later I had a check and a moving company arrived to pack up the TV and send it back to LG.
And to think they had the opportunity to solve the problem with something that would not have cost them a penny - 1 year extended warranty. Now it cost them the cost of the TV and shipping with a moving company! and the bad PR that I feel compelled to tell to everyone.....
P.S. The picture and other features were pretty good....
Great Tv dispite bad reviews.......2007-11-04
this tv is great. alot of people said that this tvs power source turns off and all kinds of things. I personally went through 5 lcd tvs within a month to figure out which is the best. Hands down this LG model is great. Great for gaming which is the main purpose for getting it(xbox360). In all honesty i had a 1080p hdtv before i got this and there isnt much difference. The fast 5ms time insures no ghosting or movies and gaming. It did take some tweaking but the colors that came preset were perfect and all i adjusted was brightness and messed with the xd engine. The speakers are great. If you want the best bang for your buck buy this tv. LG is a great brand

Disappointed.......2007-10-21
I first bought my 32" LG in August. I had had it for 13 days when it turned itself off and never came back on. I took it to the store and they gave me a new one. It is now October and today it began to switch itself from tv to dvd mode. It then went to one channel on the tv and stayed there. I changed the remote batteries. I tried to change the channel, volume, menu and nothing worked. I then tried to use the tv buttons and nothing. It would only come on and off and stayed on one channel. It then turned itself off and hasnt come back on. I am returning this one tomorrow. I now see that others are having this problem and it frustrates me that it hasnt been fixed before selling more. This has ruined me with this company.
As good or better than Sony and Samsung.......2007-10-02
Picked this up after staring at it side by side with the sony and samsung equivalents and the picture was the best.
No problems at all, great clean and bright picture, good sound and nice remote. Goes great with your HDTV DVR receiver and the dozens of new HD channels coming online with DirectTv now.
Got the 3 year warranty for 100 dollars which covers everything from pixel burnouts to the tv catching fire. Anybody that doesn't get a warranty and then whines about something going wrong has it coming to them. Regardless of brand, LCD T.V.s are known for having a high problem rate. They are a relatively new technology still.
Save your money..........2007-09-22
I bought this TV on a Saturday and the power supply died on Sunday. The store exchanged it and the second one worked for 41 days before the power supply died. Clearly this is not a quality product.
Although LG insists that it will be repaired under the 1 year warranty, it's been broken for 34 days now. Remember that it only worked for 41 days.
Buy another brand and save a huge headache.
Wonderful, vivid picture and stylish design.......2007-08-17
I highly recommend that you consider this fantastic set.
After buying a large screen Pioneer Plasma for the living room last year to watch movies, I had been researching a smaller LCD to replace my high level Sony CRT TV - mostly to play games.
I studied the reviews, looked at real feedback in the AVFORUMS and did my own eye testing in the showrooms looking for the answer to "which is the best 32" LCD TV on the market? The first two sources (reviews and forums) mentioned multiple problems with multiple sets from multiple manufacturers. I could not decide from these at all....
Comparison testing with my own eyes (ie what I found to be a good picture) worked better. And it was here that the LG stood out. I compared it with Samsung and Sharp and Toshiba..... over and over the LG stood out! And for SD broadcast TV, where LCD's really let themselves down, the LG also looked better than the rest. Whether it is the contrast ratio or the LCD panel itself - I don't know. I don't really care! What mattered to me was the picture!! I also compared the sound with other models and again this outshone the competition.
Another important factor was that this set was for the bedroom... and a lot of the time I would be watching it lying down. LG has "IPS" technology that allows this... watch out for sets that don't or you will be truly disappointed.
I got this $850 with free delivery and free wall installation (delivered and installed within two days). It looks great as well with a polished, glossy black piano finish. The wall stand lifts up so its easy to connect future equipment when you need to.
Price/feature wise it was very competitive with a 3 year manufacturers warranty - most of the others only gave 2 years max.
Likes: Picture, viewing angle, sound, cabinet/finish, price, remote, movable wall bracket, 3 year manufacturers guarantee
Dislikes... only one : the red "standby" LCD is a bit too bright (it is in my bedroom) but I know the intensity will wear off after a couple of weeks.
Recommendation: buy some plastic conduit to cover up the dangling wires and paint over to match your walls! Its only a couple of $$ and makes all the world of difference. Its also a lot easier than digging out the wall!
tv turns itself off.......2007-07-26
Less than a week after I bought this TV, it will periodically turn itself off. The problem is not a sleep timer as I have them set to off.
Also, the LG interface does not let you label your favorite channels. This is a problem if you don't pay for a digital TV cable service.
