Stunning for the money.......2007-12-21
I'm not an audiophile by any means, but I'm definitely picky about my earphones/headphones. I've owned countless pairs of headphones, mostly to be used with my iPod - the cheapest pair cost $10 and the most expensive (Shure e2cs, which I use everyday now for my morning commute) over $100.
I had a pair of Sennheisers a few years ago that I used for listening at home, and they eventually broke. I had been eyeing these headphones for awhile because of their cheap price and the rave reviews they've been getting. I'm absolutely impressed by their quality, especially considering they cost me under $20. Sometimes I think they might even sound better than my $120 e2cs. They get a little uncomfortable after extended listening, but I hope that will go away once I break them in a little further.
If I have one minor complaint, it's that the cord is excessively long. Senns are aimed at musicians, which means that all of their headphones' cords tend to be very long, but it's a pain in the butt if you'd like to use these for listening while traveling. For home use, however, it can easily be dealt with with some creative knotting and wrapping (not too tight! That can damage the cord).
Good quality for a ridiculous price.......2007-12-20
When it comes to electronics I don't usually feel good about buying the cheapest model, but this time I gave it a try. I thought 'it's still a Sennheiser and for $20 you can't go wrong'. And it didn't go wrong at all.
The headphone looks okay, it sits on your head really comfortably and it even sounds good :).
I would say it sounds rather clean, nice high, good mid perhaps lacking a little on the lows but that depends what you use it for. It is definately capable of reproducing good base without distorting when you adjust your tone settings.
It adapts to the head in three ways: the shells can extend out to fit a larger head, they tilt inwards and they also pivot to a moderate extent. You can't turn one side completely away from your ear as with some other headphones, but it sure helps making it comfortable.
The cord is 3 meters long which is handy for studio use but perhaps not on the bus. Packaging is basic but adequate, and it comes with a plug adapter.

GR8 Product.......2007-12-14
This product is all that it was advertised to be!
I am very satisfied with this product!
Sound is too low!.......2007-12-14
I haven't seen anyone else mention this, but when I connect these headphones to my computer just like any other pair of headphones, I can barely hear my music! They're nice look, nice feeling, and I can sort of tell, given the right amount of amplified power they'd probably have good sound, but I can't hear my music!!!
Decent and it serves the purpose.......2007-12-11
I bought this to listen to music at work and keep office hustle bustle sounds to the minimum. The sound quality is decent and is not classy. But I am satisfied with the performance. If one wears for more than an hour or two, the earlobes hurt.
I think this is an affordable good choice for general purpose use at work or home. Not a very portable one!

Good headphones... but there are better ones for this price range........2007-05-30
The HD201 is the entry level headphones from Sennheiser. Considering the price you pay, it is value for money. However, if you are able to pay more, get a higher end Sennheiser headphones. I have a HD205 and it goes without saying that the HD205 is better than the HD201.
What I do like about the HD201 is that it is lightweight and it is comfortable and fits round the ears very well. The closed ear headphones also reduces some ambient noise. However, it is not a very "loud" headphone and when I turned to maximum volume on my player, I could hear a slight distortion.
