I purchased this flash drive for its 8GB storage capacity. I have Sandisk cruzer in 512MB, 2GB and 4GB. Speed wasn't as important as capacity, so I did not buy the Voyager GT.
As for performance, the Voyager seems comparable to my cruzer flash drives. I copied a 1GB file onto the Voyager and Cruzer 4GB drive; the single large file took between 2 min. 10 sec. to 2 min. 15 sec. for both drives. This calculates to around 8MB/sec; which is slower than the advertised 12MB/sec write speed.
By comparison, the same file was copied to an external USB 2.5" hard drive enclosure in 60 seconds.
I may get a high performance flash drive when prices drop further; but for now, I am satisfied with the blue Voyager 8GB flash drive.
Just what I needed.......2007-12-28
I couldn't be happier with this little device. I bought it to back up my music drive in case of a crash and it transferred just under 4gb in less than 10 minutes! The rubber casing is excellent -- the only reason I didn't rate at 5 stars is the fact that the rubber tip cover slides off a little too easily and probably will be lost someday. The included encryption software was just superfluous to me so I deleted it to save space. If I want an encrypted drive I'll buy another one of these as the price is right -- I remember when these thumb drives cost an arm and a leg. All in all, a great product!

The 8GB works without a hitch, but, I'm disappointed that it took nearly 15 minutes to transfer a 3GB file from my computer to the Voyager (about 3.3MB/sec).

Apple Macbook Pro
The Macbook reports 14.99Gb of (actualy, useable) free space.
Copied 14.41Gb of data from the harddisk to the usb drive, while the Macbook was doing nothing else. The data was made up of mostly about video (about 30 files), with half a dozen small text files.
It took 33 minutes to write the data, which equals 0.44Gb/minute or 7.5Mb/second write speed.
It took about 10 minutes to copy the data back from the USB pen drive to the harddisk, which equals 1.44Gb/minute or 24Mb/second read speed.
The dimensions mentioned on Amazon are for the packaging not the actual pen drive.
The drive is the typical size for a usb pen drive. About 1.5 inches long, half and inch wide and quarter of an inch deep. Sizes are just guestimates, I did't use a ruler.
The rubber casing has a nice tactile feel to it. My only minor complaint, which almost every pen drive suffers from, is that although the (rubber) cap fits snug and securely onto the usb plug, I'm still not convinced it wouldn't wobble off when the drive is in my pocket. Ideally, I'd like the cap to screw on, but hey ho. It doesn't look like it is *likely* to come off.

The producto is awesome!!! All this space at a very reasonable size of flash drive. The rubber cover protects from almost any human accident.
The only problem (Corsair isn't accountable) is the limit of file size you can write into flash driver (2GB). However, this is a FAT32 filesystem limit, not a Flash drive itself limitation.
An option is to convert the filesystem to NTFS but, if you do that, you won't be able to use this flash drive with Mac or Linux. I think this will be a limitation of this kind of huge flash drives for a long time.

I keep getting asked, Are you sure there are 16 gigs in that little thing? Yep, lots of room and great speed in getting it here. Very satisfied! The rubber coatings do attract all the lint in your pocket though. Top falls off too easy.

Awesome product, well worth the money, more room than youll ever need (as far as flash drives go). pricey, however if you dont have the means, then corsair makes lower cost flash drives for different ranges. very sturdy, and fun to bounce on the table.

Just when I thought 16GB was enough... .......2007-12-16
I also own the 8 and 16 GB Voyagers. Both are excellent.
Over the course of the last 6 years I've had a number of USB drives. Iomega, Corsair, Apacer, PNY, Sony and SanDisk. I've upgraded each time I felt the storage increase justified the cost. I work in information technology so they are tools more than toys, anyway on to the review. This 32GB drive is massive and well worth the money . I have it split into two partitions, one of which is encrypted. I've used it in all sorts of systems and also have a .bat file that allows me to sync my data, my point? Whether you are transferring data, saving data, or syncing data it works quite well. I also use some apps like Firefox portable which allows you to run the browser from your USB device and keep personal info off the local computer. Once again no issues.
I do agree that the protective rubber coating around the drive can make it somewhat difficult to plug in multiple USB devices, but Corsair does provide you a USB cable extension which solves the problem. And also this is one of the few USB devices that the cap stays on very tight.
After using the 8GB and 16GB Corsair flash drives for some time now I can still say they are 5 star excellent. I'm expecting the same from the 32.
