I love these headphones. I am an audio production and music business major and I've been using these in my Electronic Music and Studio Recording classes. I rate them four stars 'cause I haven't used the noise cancelling feature 'cause I don't need it in that environment. But I love the fold up feature and the semi-hard case (the only such case I found in my hunt for portable headphones) and the full size, over-the-ear coverage. The sound quality is fine, which I was very concerned about with smaller headphones.
Apparently a classmate thought they were great, too, 'cause they were stolen last Thursday. I'm ordering another pair now.

These work like magic. Of course, I've never tried any other noise-cancelling headphones, so I can't compare them with the state of the art. But I use them almost daily on my treadmill, and when I throw the switch and power them up, the treadmill racket nearly goes away. I haven't tried them anywhere else. It would probably be quite hazardous to use them out in the real world while jogging or biking.
Everyone Wants Them.......2007-05-01
This is my first set of noise canceling headphones. I was doubtful about the technology, but for $20 I tried them. I work at a noisy manufacturing facility and brought them out to the plant floor. Even without music, they reduce the noise. I told a few people what they cost and everyone wants a pair. Somehow I doubt that they meet OSHA requirements.
Great performance for the price.......2007-04-04
I only paid $25 for these headphones, and that was well worth the price. The most important factor to me is a sturdy carrying case because I travel alot and broke another $50 pair while in transit because it only had the pouch. This includes a nice, protective carrying case (although a bit bulky),as well as an airplane adapter. It folds easily and even when the batteries dead, you still can hear music. The sound quality is mediocre, but for the price, I'm not complaining...it's still pretty good. You can also notice the beneficial noise-canceling feature when activated. I highly recommend these to anyone not interested in paying over $100 for other headphones...and most don't have this sturdy carrying case!
Better than you might think........2007-03-14
For the price they aren't bad headphones. A little bulky for a travel headphone, but so are several other models from other manufacturers. I liked the way they fold up (if a bit tricky to complete) and the amount of "noise reduction" ("noise canceling" is a misleading term on all of them) of 15dB. For the price that's pretty good. Other costing more give you less noise reduction. Mine are brand new so I haven't seen the problems described in the other reviews. They also don't quite have the bass response some people might be looking for. The real test is when I use them on a plane.
