The 7610 is a candybar phone on steroids. The large screen sports 176 x 208 resolution, as well as support for 65,000 colors. At just 0.74 inches thick, the phone is very pocket-friendly. Just below the display is a five-way selection button that allows you to navigate and control the phone's menus and features. The unit's internal antenna means there's nothing to snag or break off. The rear of the phone houses the megapixel camera unit, which features 1,152 x 864 resolution. An RS-MMC memory slot allows you to expand the unit's built-in 8 MB of internal memory. The unit ships with a 64 MB card, but higher capacity cards are available. The 7610 also features changeable faceplates so you can dress up the phone to suit your style.
Calling Features
The 7610's address book supports up to 1,000 entries, including multiple phone numbers, as well as physical and e-mail addresses. The 7610's built-in speakerphone makes it easy to talk without having the phone to your ear. Polyphonic ringtones are included, as is a vibrating alert, and you can use your favorite MP3s as ringtones. Ringer IDs let you assign specific ringtones to particular callers, while picture ID technology lets you similarly assign images or pictures to callers. In addition to name-based voice-recognition dialing, the phone also features technology that lets you dial a number by speaking the digits to the phone. Lastly, the phone's Bluetooth connectivity means that your favorite Bluetooth headset is fully compatible.
Messaging, Internet, and Tools
The 7610 is a mobile messaging and Internet powerhouse. With support for the MMS (multimedia messaging service), the phone can send picture, video, and text messages (carrier messaging charges may apply). When coupled with the 7610's megapixel camera, MMS opens up great opportunities for robust messaging. Instant messaging is also supported, and the phone ships with a built-in e-mail client.
Getting on the Internet is easy with the 7610. It supports the GPRS data protocol, and when used with a carrier data plan and the phone's USB or Bluetooth data capability, the phone can be used as a wireless modem for laptops and PDAs. There's also a built-in Web browser for mobile Web browsing. T9 text entry, a technology that makes it easier for people to enter words and text on handsets, is built into the unit--a plus for mobile e-mail and text messaging users.
The 7610 supports PC synchronization standards via USB or Bluetooth, which means you can manage and synchronize contacts, calendar, and other data with your PC. Nokia's PC Suite application makes this process a breeze. You can also use Bluetooth to connect a wireless keyboard for efficient text entry. A number of handy software tools are bundled with the 7610 including a voice memo recorder, a calculator, a calendar, and an alarm clock.
Imaging and Entertainment
The 7610 is designed for flexible mobile fun. The built-in megapixel camera captures stills and up to 10-minute video clips to the phone's 8 MB of internal memory. More photos, videos, applications, and games can be stored on the memory expansion card. The phone supports playback of MP3 and AAC audio files, as well as 3GPP and RealMedia video files. Picture effects and custom screensavers, backgrounds, and themes can be set up to fit your personality. The phone is a powerful gaming companion with support for Java and Symbian games.

A "Smart Phone" That DELIVERS..........2006-01-21
Our aviation business uses cell phones quite a bit to stay in touch in the US and Canada. One missed call from the right customer can mean hundreds of thousands of dollars in missed revenue or commissions. (Although, believe me, most of our deals are not on this scale!)
We chose Cingular due to their size after merging with ATT, but I was quite frustrated in the phones they offered.
I quickly grew disenchanted with their Motorola phones and their poor reception....and believe me, it was the phones - not the carrier as many people had different Cingular phones and were getting good reception. Problem was that these phones just didn't have all the features that I wanted.
I really researched the phones and although the Nokia 7610 is only available online right now in most areas, it had all the features of a "Smart Phone" without all the bulk of a Blackberry.
The Nokia 7610 is a medium-size phone that has Bluetooth AND USB connectivity to the Web, text messaging, a GREAT camera, to-do lists, several clocks for different time zones, a voice and video recorder,calendars, and a LOT of games - although I don't often play them. It has EVERYTHING that I wanted - especially the great camera and the BEST reception with Cingular that I have found. To date, I haven't read a single review that really COMPLAINS about this phone. Finally....I've discovered a truly great cell phone. Just be sure that you buy the leather case for it (forget the awful FlexiSkin one that leaves the screen totally exposed) as you won't want to drop this one!

I bought this phone on Feb.'05 for 439 USD on ebay. It came with 1 64MB rsMMC and another 256 MB one.
At the beginning, I thought the phone was great, it took to me almost 1 month to choose this phone among other nokia's(6630 and 6670).
But the time passed and I discovered the phone had an operative system called Symbias OS, uncovering an unexpected expansion possibility of the phone so that I started downloading hundreds of Symbian applications and 3D games. I have been able to view Word, Excel, Powerpoint, PDF and text documents, e-books, e-news and more after downloading the appropiate apps.
The Fun Area is the biggest one on this phone: There are hundreds of 3D-non-sucky- Symbian games, java games, N-GAGE games, NES, SNES and Game Boy games(after installing the emulators).Theres a app called SmartMovie that lets you convert your movies to DivX(MPEG-4) format and play them directly in your phone at full screen,including subs.Of course you can also play and listen to MP3,AAC,WAV and many other audio formats directly on the speaker or with the hands-free
The Connecticity trhu Bluetooth and USB cable lets you share with other phones virtually all of your media(some times you need to change the file extensions to something non-commercial like .mid to .nid, .sis to .sij, or .jar to .jak, in order for the phone to let you send the file to other phones via BT) comparing to the annoying copyright protections added for free to all Motorolas, Sony-Ericsson and even Samsung's
You can also download enhancements for the camera: camera games, lens-deforming apps for funnier faces, movie editors, MPEG recorders. The possibilities are endless.
The bad part is that Nokia's motto is to leave you wanting more.
This phone lacks a couple things I would have loved to have, like:
-Internet access via Bluetooth connection with PC(older nokia models like 6600 were able to do this)
-EDGE(a High Speed data transfer protocol)
-FM Radio
-Stereo playback
-Push To Talk
-Flash for the camera
-Secondary VGA camera (for video calling)
-WLAN for Wi-Fi Internet Access(the coming soon Nokia N80 will have it)

It's Shape (like a leaf) is very very nice! It's fashion shape is very eye catching! Once I buy it, I can see that the application inside is quite good, and I like it's camera and the bluetooth. But, the price is quickly down! Now, it's almost half price than when I bought it last year. Score 9.5

I bought this product in black for my son's 2nd generation ipod nano. We plugged it in using the apprpriate bracket and then the ipod screen turned dark and will no longer respond at all. A $30 product ruined a $150 product. great

The sound quality was okay when I first received it, but after a few days it became pretty terrible. Now, it is only useful at a very low volume. So, to listen to something while I wash the dishes, forget it. I wonder if carrying it around the house from room to room giggled something loose inside and that's why it was good and now sucks.

I got this box about 2 weeks ago for the office, and I'm really enjoying it. My only issue is that the radio doesn't seem to tune very well. I can pick up FM ok (mostly), but I can't get anything on AM. I don't know if anyone else has had any issues with this. Maybe it's just my location.
