Reliable Drives.......2007-08-15
I own three of these Rocket Pod drives and I like them a lot. My only gripe is the very loud fan noise in the newer generations. My first drive is whisper quite, but both of the new ones are so loud that I only use them for backup and turn them off when not in use.
Rocket Pod Backup.......2007-04-08
I now own three Rocket Pod (USB-2) external disk drives and they are great for full disk (disk image) backup and recovery. I store one Rocket Pod in my lock box for safe keeping; the other two are used at home on each of my computers, with one swapping between my home system and my travel notebook for backup/recovery purposes. I keep several iterations of backup for each computer. I have restored my XP Windows hard disk countless times without fail. The more difficult task is to pick good reliable backup/restore software. My travel notebook (Vista Windows) has been backed up several times and the archive has been verified valid by using the bootable DVD media, but I have not yet had to restore this system. I recommend this product for backup/recovery.
