I have had this drive for about 4 months. It burns reliably (though burning over 12x gets a bit funky). The Lightscribe is pretty nice to have, although it takes a while for jobs. I personally do not etch graphics to discs, since it takes up a lot of my time. So far, I have burned Sony, RiData, Memorex, and Verbatim (being the best, w/o failure).
I installed the drive into an external drive enclosure, without incident.
Just a word of caution, when burning to disc, the drive sounds like a propeller plane getting ready for take-off. The vibrations also make my computer desk to resonate a hum. No big deal, but it may for some.

It writes dvds just fine. I havent tried to make a lightscribe label with it yet though.

Doesn't stay on well.......2006-11-15
The clip on this is located below the on-off switch on the back of the Shuffle and clips on so that the switch is at the top. This means that fully half of the shuffle is above where it is clipped on and the shuffle is easily knocked askew or off. I don't know why they didn't just turn the clip around so that the switch is on the bottom - it would have been much more stable. Also, I keep accidentally pushing the play-pause button when I clip or unclip the Shuffle. My advice: save the money you would spend on this and put it toward one of the new Shuffles.
simple, inexpensive and very useful.......2006-05-27
I use this to clip my ipod shuffle to my waistband at the gym. It works great. The attachment to the USB connector is secure. The clip works well. Unlike a previous reviewer, I have no trouble detaching the ipod. With the clip attached, it is a bit of a challenge to access the power switch, but that is a minor complaint.

I just wanted to respond to the reviewer who gave it one star. I love this clip and have given it to my friends with shuffles. It just replaces the end cap and firmly clips anywhere (shirt sleeve, etc). I have never had a problem removing it. It's a simple thing that greatly enhances the shuffle.

I purchased a DLO flip clip for my ipod shuffle and am very disappointed with this product. I used it for a while w/o a problem, but when it came time to charge my shuffle, I was unable to remove the flip clip to charge it. I almost had to break it off, but ended up prying it off with a knife. I thought maybe it had just been on for too long, but when I tried to use it again after charing it immideiately got stuck and I hade to pry it of again. I can't use it anymore b/c I am afraid if I do I will break the ipod using it. This product is obviously very poorly designed. To top it off, the shape wasn't very useful anyway. A lengthwise clip is hard to put on your shorts or belt for running.
