Drive Failed Lost All Data.......2007-10-13
After having this drive for about 18 months. It would not start up and makes a loud beeping and clacking noise. Lost all data. Checked Maxtor site, it is not under warranty. The drive saw light usage, but failed to do the one thing that I needed it to do -- protect my data. You are rolling the dice if you buy a Maxtor.

The drive works great. Plug it in, it works, copy files, have a nice time.
It comes bundled with Dantz Retrospect backup software (or at least mine did). Run run RUN AWAY do NOT use that Dantz software! It does not work. It cheerfully claims to be backing up your files, but when your disk crashes - - shazam - - unable to find anything to restore.

It's not too exciting but perfect for automatic backups and easy restores when needed. Reliable work-horse that gets the job done.

The device works fine. What really blew me away was the helpful and proactive service provided by MicroNet. I didn't have a problem with the device, but did have a problem configuring it to work via Firewire 800 CardBus adapter. MicroNet CALLED the very afternoon I posted an e-mail to their site. And actually CALLED BACK the next day. I never heard from the manufacturer of the Firewire 800 CardBus adapter. I would buy from MicroNet again.

i own a 60 gig photo ipod, and the description clearly states that the ipod i own will fit in to the cleaar case holder. The ipod fits snug into the holder, however... the case will not close at all. It requires at least a 1/16 of an inch to be fully closed and secure. I would not recommend this product at all it is a waste of money.
