Don't let the relatively large size of the ATH-A55's fool you. They are the most comfortable and best sounding "cans" for the money I've ever listened to. The large closed back ear cups and leather ear pads isolate the outside world and just let you focus on and enjoy the music. The reproduction is even, smooth and full sounding without any phony "bass boost." They seem well made, comfy as all getgo and sound wonderful! You won't go wrong with these.

I've had these headphones for about a year now, and I have yet to find any real problems with them. I use them every day on my laptop to listen to music, and the sound is spectacular. I usually spend about 2-4 hours with them on, and I've never had a problem with comfort. They feel quite nice actually. After a year, I have yet to find any kind of bug. The only thing I have against them is how giant they are. If you're looking for a pair of headphones to bring with you on your day to day activities, look for something a bit smaller. These things look like they're going to eat your head every time you put them on. But looks aside, the sound quality is amazing.

Good for the price.......2006-06-11
My first and biggest complaint with these headphones is the physical design; while they are comfortable for short periods, they begin to hurt your ears after awhile and they also slip off quite easily. However, most headphones in this price range are just as bad (if not worse).
They have good sound quality for their price range, although, like most/all headphones this cheap they aren't extremely clear and don't sound extremely good. I didn't notice much sound leakage with these headphones, and could barely hear them when I took them off my head. However, I generally don't listen to music very loud (it hurts my ears) so if you listen to music very loud it may cause more sound leakage (however, you probably won't care).
Overall, considering the price, these headphones are pretty good. You could probably get a better pair for the same price, but you could also get a much, MUCH worse pair.
Cheap - You get what you pay for.......2004-03-03
I was attracted to these headphones because they looked like a steal. They looked like an extremely great deal for the price that I payed for them (around $25)... but what I got was exactly what I paid for. I got very low quality, cheaply made headphones that barely held up for 2 months. The foam padding started deteriorating about a week after I bought these and they hurt your ears after only about listening for an hour. The sound quality is mediocre, but is better than some at the same price range. My biggest problem with these phones was that they leaked an extremely large amount of sound. You can't be in a room, or even a room over from someone without them knowing what you're listening too. HORRIBLE...
But, they are extremely comfortable if you are only going to wear them for a SHORT period of time. They are VERY cheap, and if you don't mind letting anyone listen with you (sound leakage), then these phones shouldn't be a problem. Okay for the casual listener who doesn't have a whole lot of money to spare. The cord is extremely long, which makes for easy maneuverability but does get in the way sometimes. There is a small amount of isolation, more so than with other headphones at this price, but you still can hear outside noise which kind of defeats the purpose.
I would have gave it a 3... because you really do get what you pay for, but I just can't get over how horrible the sound leakage is with these phones. I've used $.99 cent headphones that didn't have leakage this bad... therefore I gave it a 2.
I'm going to loosen up and spring for a pair of Sennheiser HD-280's... better spending $80 for a supposedly fantastic pair than waste another $25 on cheap junk like this.
