Crashed without warning.......2007-11-06
Crashed yesterday (2yr 4months) in my wife's machine. No sign of failure or file corruption before the crash. Just dead in the morning and I tried to hook up to another pc as a slave drive and hope I can retrieve data but no help. Warranty is only one year so WD is not gonna take it back. I will now pay a little more and go for Seagate because of their good reputation.

The drive was sold at a good price and was very easy to install and worked as described. What more can I say, it's an internal hard drive for a desktop PC. The price was good and the drive worked and installed easily.
Mine is Fine.......2007-03-09
I got it with my Dell computer when I purchased in 2000, it did have to be replaced in 2002 but the new one has been running fine, I did have to get a new one to use it as a back up. Two draw backs are the size because the new software takes up so much space and also if you buy this one, the software cd is not included and you have to downloaded it from Western Digital. If your computer can handle bigger drives defintely go for it, if not this not a bad option especially for extra space.

Mine is less than two years old. Will not boot, unable to recover data, it just clicks. I was going to buy another one until I read the feedback on this product.
