Koss The Plug is a stereo earbud for the discriminating listener. It delivers accurate acoustical reproduction and unbelievable isolation typically found in more expensive, closed-style stereophones. The Plug features a dynamic element that is positioned just outside the ear and connected to a tubular port structure that is inserted on a soft expandable cushion into the ear canal. The soft foam cushion expands for a custom fit to improve isolation and enhance deep bass and treble clarity.The Plug has special ear cushions made of hydrophilic, formed urethane, for a custom fit each and every time it is inserted into the listener's ear. The custom fit enhances isolation when you want to plug out ambient sounds that interfere with the listening experience. The Plug delivers the full sound of Koss. Koss's miniature portable earphone, affectionately dubbed "The Plug," makes use of an ear-cushion material (similar to that used in sound-blocking earplugs) that slowly expands in your ear canal to provide a custom fit and maximum sonic isolation from external noises. A detachable, extrawide headband makes these Koss-termed "stereophones" easy to carry or store.
For accurate sound reproduction, these earbud-style headphones are made with oxygen-free copper voice coils and neodymium iron boron magnets. You can enjoy them with either a portable or home audio device, since both 0.125-inch and 0.25-inch adapter jacks are included.
"The Plug" weighs a mere quarter ounce and has a frequency response rated at an impressive 16 to 23,000 Hz (though its unlikely you'll hear bass output anywhere close to what you'd get from a similarly rated loudspeaker!).
Impedance is 16 ohms, with less than a 0.3 percent distortion and reasonably high sensitivity of 112 dB SPL/1 mW.

My wife is very hard on earbud type headphones, usually not lasting more than a few weeks per pair. So, I do not want to pay a lot for earbuds. She aso only listens to books on tape, but constantly - so I don't need a lot of high fidelity. These appear to be a good value. We'll se after she opens them (Christmas Stocking stuffer) and has them for a few weeks.
The Most Comfortable Earphones Ever!.......2007-12-23
Beautifully soft and comfortable, cone-shaped earphones, and the only ones I've ever found that don't keep falling out of my ears like earbuds do. Good sound quality, and excellent price, with the superb Koss reputation behind them.

Having stared balefully in the general direction of these earphones for a little over two years now, I am better able to determine their true functionality.
Whilst the manufacturer has it that they could be used as an ear phone, I believe they are much more suited as a chocking hazard for three year olds, or perhaps, as knotted recursive afunctional loops.
To be fair, during the brief periods in which the earpiece actually stayed in the ear, I could grant that the sound was acceptable for the $43 (AU) price tag. Sadly, however, these moments were few. Far more often, said earpieces would blithely fall upon the user's shoulder, usually at a particularly climatic moment during a song.
Oh, sure, you get spare pieces of foam. Spare pieces which also fail to fit into one's ear.
Hopefully, as an earlier reviewer noted, Koss has since improved the product, because the only other viable use is probably in plugging bronchioles.
Good sound but not comfortable.......2007-11-28
I purchased a pair of these based on their positive reviews but received them and was not impressed. They only come with one size of "plug", and it didn't sit snugly inside the ear and instead felt like it was slipping out. But if you try to push them in deeper to make them more snug, the inner hard plastic tube scrapes and irritates the ear.
The sound quality is good and the price is right, but I will be returning these for another pair of jbuds.

well, it's good as a protective case BUT to get the player inside of the case it is really hard and the worst part is if you want to use the camara or film something, you have to take the player out of the case to do it!! so... no good!!! not practical at all

I really like the case. It looks sharp. It is a tight fit so the player is secure. I have had it for several months now and it looks great. It has a belt clip which is nice for gym/exercise use.
