For most users, the Cruzer Micro is plug and play, with no drivers required. (A Windows 98SE driver is available online at sandisk.com.) I received exactly what I ordered and in a short time. No problems at all.

I agree that it is a little slow but for the price I'm totally satisfied. Instead of backing-up everything each time I wrote a script that uses the X-Copy funtion and it makes quick work of my back-up procedures. If you are just looking for a cheap way to back-up, this is it.

To give you an idea how slow this thing is.....
I have a backup folder of just under 2 gb that I save each week.

On a USB external drive the files write in about three minutes.
The same files on this thing takes about 90+ minutes.

Do youreself a favor. Get a USB external hard drive.

The only reason I still use this thing is it cost me more than
$75.

An addendum to this thing: the USB drive crashed and took
the laptop with it.

Ended up trashing it. The laptop still doesn't work.

Win98SE does Large Flash Drives ..........2007-04-10

This is one of the few large ( 2 GB ) flash drives that I am able to use with Win98SE (using Sandisk's Win98 driver) on my home built AMD XP2700+ computer. This flash drive is from a reliable company and the price is reasonable (under $40 from an Amazon merchant). Overall, this was a real find.

When I bought it it was one of the nice little flash drives. I think it was the tiniest one in that segment. Its a fun to use this.
