In fact, theft and damage account for the majority of data loss on notebook PCs. By using the parts included in the Upgrade Kit, you can convert your existing hard drive into an external back-up solution. Not only do you get higher capacity and better performance with your hard drive upgrade, you get peace of mind knowing your data is being backed up no matter what happens to your system.
Do-It-Yourself In 3 Simple Steps
Hitachi's solution is as easy as 1-2-3. First, plug the new hard drive into the high-speed enclosure and connect it to the notebook's USB port. Second, boot the computer using the Upgrade CD provided. The EZ Gig II software utility will launch automatically and guide you through the process of cloning your existing drive. Third, turn off your computer and swap the drives. The new hard drive becomes the notebook's internal drive and the old hard drive can be used in the Apricorn enclosure as an external storage device. It's that simple! Refer to the installation guide provided in the Upgrade Kit for more details.
