Incredible Drive.......2007-12-21
I bought this External Drive for use with my PowerBook and have never looked back. I have had it for a year now and I use CCC to make a complete clone of my hard drive and it works flawlessly. I was so impressed that I bought a 120GB USB drive for other storage and to help backup my friends computers that are having Windows troubles.
It is smaller than the picture leads you to believe and it is fast and reliable. What more would you want from an external drive...

I have had two smartdisk drives for about a year now, and I couldn't be happier with them. I have two versions, a FW 800 and FW 400, and the speed difference is almost negligible unless I'm doing heavy photo or video editing. I primarily use them to store my aperture library and my aperture photo vault. These flawlessly daisy chain with my 17" macbook pro when i want them too, and even play nice when i daisy chain them with my two 500 gb WD My Book Pros.
If you have a Mac, there should be no question in your mind about getting these drives, they are remarkable pieces of engineering.

This thing broke down on me, believe it or not, three times and I'm on my fourth one. I'm glad they replaced it, but the last time they gave me a USB hardrive instead of a firewire. It never lasted me for over a year. And guess what? This fourth one just messed up. And they don't have a toll free number so you have to pay. You also have to pay to ship it out there and they want you to ship it fedex which if I added up all three times I returned this product for another used one, I could have gotten a brand new hardrive.
I would not recommend this product for those who have important documents that need to be saved and transported somewhere else and have it fail.
Lucky me, I backed up my stuff on a good old reliable CD :)
Oh and by the way, I always disconnect everything by "safely removing" it and I have XP in case anyone wanted to know.

Nice drive. Problem when daisy chain two drive together. XP will lose connection with the two drives. I guess it draw too much power and the firewire can't handle it. As a result, the drives shut themselves down.

These speakers are the m-fing bomb, man. I did a lot of research on what home speakers to buy for my pretty little new iPod Video, and I am not disappointed. I'm sad these are discontinued, because the sound is really top-notch.
Whether at low volume or high, the sound is crisp and full-bodied. I haven't been able to turn it all the way up... I think my ear drums would crack.
I love love love these speakers. And they were very easy to put together. Yes, they're a bit heavy, but really, who cares? They're quality speakers. Just don't expect to take them to the beach or something.

It's rare to find a product these days that delivers as this one does...Most of the time you end up spending upwards of hundreds of dollars above manufacturing costs, only to be disappointed in the results and relatively poor quality. Fortunately, I bought two when Klipsch was still making them...one here at Amazon, and my second at Costco (where it showed up a few scant weeks later after restock - at $199.00!) The system is easily worth every penny at retail. The only shortcoming is the miniscule remote (but hey!...it works). I suspect Klipsch abandoned them because they were either too high-priced over decidedly-inferior competitors' models, or because of shelving resistance from Apple, who has their own system to market.
In addition to the iPod, I use the AUX input on the dock to service home theater audio for my large-screen TV (requires an additional 3.5 mm --> RCA-type Y-cable)

OK, I'm no audiophile but my amateur opinion is that these speakers sound really great- as good as my $800 Quart speakers. My son, whose hearing is better than mine, claims the sound is comparable to a very good set of Sony earbuds. We have plugged in three different ipods, a CD and a computer- all sound great. Are they worth the price? That's hard to say. The only one who does not like the Klipsch iFi is the UPS guy. The woofer is extrordinarily HEAVY. Really heavy. Do not buy these speakers if you ever need to move them.
