Splendid. Incredible sound detail for the price........2007-12-22
Simply put, the sony vertical sport series are the best headphones you can buy for the price. If you treat them well, they will last for years, and the bass response and overall clarity is top notch. I have a pair of 140$ surround wireless sony's, a behringer set, the verticals, and a pair of sennheiser's, and still the sony MDR's are strong enough to push high quality sound at any volume.
Biggest plus? Tiny drivers mean you can listen to your music LOUD and only be at 25% max volume on your favorite MP3 player... which of course leads to longer battery life.
I have bought these headphones numerous times (as with any exposed cord electronic, getting caught on something can be its demise) and will continue to do so.

I bought these as they appeared to be good for exercising and I've had good experiences with sony products in the past. First off you have to keep the volume control on the cord low and use your players volume control - at higher volumes on the integrated control the sound gets distorted especially at the high end. OK, I can live with that. The real letdown was the fact that these "in-the-ear" headphones didn't stay in the ear so well. Every 1/5 mile on the treadmill I found myself pushing them back in as they quickly worked their way out till they were resting over my ears. I'll use them for the time being but will stay on the lookout for a better pair.

I love Sony and was disappointed that I couldn't find the yellow sports headphones to replace the one's I wore out. Amazon saved the day with these and they are GREAT! Better than the previous pair - super comfortable and great sound! I would highly recommend them to anyone!
Decent sound, solid, good price.......2007-09-30
They perfectly fit in the ear (at least in mine). I use them for jogging - I like the over-the-head band that counteracts the pulls from the cables while you are running.
The material as well as the overall construction seems to be solid and durable. Cable is long enough. Adjustable band over the head is firm and does not get loose.
Sound is OK - I am using it in noisy places so I would leave this judgment for others. The volume control on the cable is a gadget - I personally do not use it but some people might.
I used to have almost the same model before, but they suddenly stopped working (yet, at this point, I should add that they had served me for a decent number of years). That is why I decided to buy another set close to the first one.
Rough around the edges.......2007-07-18
I have been using the Sony MDR-A34L Vertical In-the-Ear Headphones with 3-Hinged Headband but have been repeatedly disappointed in the plastic breaking. I tried these and so far, I like the fit and the small, in-ear buds. So, why 3 stars... the ear buds have a seam along the center and the plastic is rough and sharp. It pokes my ear and while running, creates a blister. Not so good, but sanding the edge down has helped.
