The Windows- and Mac-compatible Western Digital Passport is designed for toughness, offering maximum protection from data loss with a rugged, protective case and shock-tolerant 2.5-inch hard drive. The elegant, soft-touch case looks great, but it's also designed to allow the drive to run cool and quiet. The design also minimizes power consumption, prolonging laptop battery life (an optional power adapter is available for the few computers that limit bus power). On top of all that, the Passport is safety tested. In fact, it's one of the few external drives with certification to meet all applicable safety requirements.
Installation of the Passport is a snap because you don't really "install" this drive, you just plug it in and it's ready to use. There is no CD to install; the included software loads from the drive the first time you plug it in. The drive is powered by the USB bus, so there's no separate power supply needed. Meanwhile, WD Sync synchronization and encryption software lets you save your critical data, and take it with you. Plug your drive into any PC, edit files, read e-mail, and view photos. Then sync all of your changes back to your home or office computer. Note that this software is only offered for Windows 2000/XP, though.

A dependable and rugged drive.......2007-08-23
I have owned my WD 120GB for over a year. I have dropped it from standing-height and thrown it in my brief case when I have taken countless business trips. It is still working just a well as the day I bought it. And I will say when I dropped it the plastic tabs, which are located inside the unit, broke off and were rattling around in the unit. The cover was then not secured as tightly as before. In fact I can remove the cover with little effort... It continues working inspite of my severe abuse! Highly recommend.

I have had the same problem nearly everyone else in these reviews has had. It worked great and then, although it wasn't old, my computer simply no longer recognized that the drive was attached. If only I had seen these reviews before I purchased it. Now I can't get at any of my data and they're telling me I have to pay to ship it and pay a third party to retrieve the data. No doubt they probably have stocks in that third party or it's a subsidiary of their company or something.
Customer service is polite, but no help at all. They just keep saying it should be replaced or sent to the third party when, in fact, it works. It's just stock answers. My computer simply doesn't recognize the drive now that I downloaded the latest Windows update. So I, like many others in these reviews am out of luck.
Save yourself the money. Find a solution elsewhere or back up every single bit of information on the drive. I was using this as my backup and that was a HUGE mistake.

This is just Great. Lots of storage for data files and pictures. Allows me to keep my file with me where ever I go. No additonal software required, just plug it in the USB Port and you have instant files, fast and easy to use. Small in size but big in storage. I give it 5 stars.

Great value and a good solution.......2006-11-03
I work in laboratory and radio reception is minimal. We wanted to listen to internet radio in several different locations and this little device has made it easy. Reception is very good within about 10-20 feet. We have one radio receiving the signal in an adjoining room about 25 feet away and through one wall. We found the easiest way to use the transmitter was to find a radio frequency on the radio that was totally empty then slowly adjust the tuner on the transmitter until the signal was clear on the one radio. From there any other radios are easily tunable to this frequency. Best feature is the fact that the transmitter receives power from the computer via a USB connection. This means no batteries ever! The cables are pretty short and the frequency tuner is analog, but otherwise this product works as advertised and does a great job.

This product is horrible b/c if you live in an area with lots of stations or a radio that can't tune manually - IT DOESN'T WORK! If by chance you hear your MP3, it will be full of static and probably go out in a minute. Don't buy this product.
