Product Description
The Koss UR29 stereophone delivers bass-enhanced high quality sound in a sturdy package suitable for DJs and listeners on the go. Dynamic elements, constructed from 1.4 mil mylar for enhanced rigidity, minimize mechanical distortion and yield a full frequency response from 18-20, 000 Hz. Anisotropic ferrite magnets enable the Koss UR29 to deliver great volume, even with low-voltage portable devices. Oxygen-free copper voice coils improve signal transmission and conduction for cleaner, clearer sound. Closed leatherette earcushions seal comfortably around the ears, improving bass performance and blocking outside noise. Closed cushions also prevent sound from leaking out of the headphone - perfect for the dorm room. With earcups that rotate and fold in, the Koss UR29 collapses into a protective package that is easy to carry and tucks away neatly into small spaces like computer and gaming consoles. Volume control on the cord makes it easy to adjust the listening level when getting to the sound source is difficult, as when plugged into a computer or used in flight. The padded adjustable headband ensures a comfortable fit for any shape or size head. The straight, single-entry cord affords 8 feet of flexible movement. The Koss UR29 is a great overall value and is ideal for listeners who demand high quality sound that travels well.
Customer Reviews:
alright for the price.......2007-08-29
when these were working like they were supposed to they were great headphones. I had them for about 5 months before a cat chewed through the cord. in that time they were convenient and folded up, and sounded great while blocking a great deal of outside noise. a couple reviews have stated that they aren't adjustable. that is NOT TRUE! they adjust at the hinge. the only thing I was unhappy with was a connection starting to come loose in the volume knob. I solved this by tying it up in a knot (the cord is really long anyway) and I didn't have any more problems with it. overall worth the price, but next time I'm going with something a little higher quality like the JVC HANC100 headphones, which have a retractable cord (stupid cats...)
good headphones.......2007-01-08
I've had these headphone for about two months now and they're a really good pair of headphones. I really like that they're foldable because they're easy to store in my bookbag. These headphones are loud and reduce noise quite nicely. Good Buy!!
Useful, but disposable..........2006-12-20
The short: Don't buy a pair of these expecting to use them for the next five years, they simply aren't engineered that well (details follow). Buy them if you want a cheap pair of headphones that are easy to carry around, comfortable, block outside noise, and sound great.
The long: I've owned two pairs of these headphones over the past few years. My use consists of primarily listening to music. I'm not throwing them in a book bag every day, they usually stay at home by the computer, except for the occasional road trip.
The second pair recently broke (to the point where it was not worth repairing), so I decided to take it apart to see if I should purchase a third pair.
That said, here's how they fail:
1. ) The volume control in the cord breaks, and as a result, one or both of the speakers cuts out intermittently. Eventually, there is no sound at all. This happens consistently.
With the first pair, I tried soldering the wires back on--this lasted a few hours, until it broke again. The problem is that the weight of the cord pulls directly on the fragile solder joints--they will inevitably break off, no matter how gentle your daily headphone use is. The only solution is to cut the volume control out of the cord and tape the wires back together (I've done this once for each pair).
Unlike the volume control, the cord is properly connected, and requires a great deal of force to remove it (accidentally or intentionally).
2. ) The wiring in the headset breaks, and the right speaker works intermittently, then fails. This has not yet happened to my first pair, which I am still using (albeit, in a taped-together state) until I purchase a new set of headphones. I have stopped folding/collapsing it to try and prevent it from failing before I buy a new pair (NOT the same ones, I've decided).
In the headband, a curved piece of springy metal is stuck between two pieces of a foam-like material. This metal piece has four holes drilled in it (very poorly), and the wire to the right speaker is woven through these holes. The result is that whenever you fold/collapse the headphones, the wire rubs against the sharp metal edges, and the insulation wears away. Eventually it cuts through the wire (which is actually *taught* at the headphone's extended-most position), and it is not possible to remove and replace the wire without cutting and re-sewing the headband. The wire I removed from the broken pair was worn down to the bare metal in all four locations where it was woven.
Despite these engineering oversights (failures?), the headphones last for about a year before modifications/repairs will be required, and the sound is above average (bass is actually pretty decent). They are easy to carry and don't require very much power to get loud.
Just don't expect miracles for
<$30.
Decent.......2006-12-05
I got these because my roommate had them and they're cool. They're a little tight, but my head's small enough. There's another Amazon page for this identical item, so I don't know why there are two pages. I bought from here because it was cheaper.
I read a review that complained these headphones didn't have Koss's crisp, trademark sound. I had a pair of Koss headphones before these and I honestly do notice a difference.
Why?...Koss They Suck!.......2006-09-16
Check it, So I got my new headphones I had been waiting 2 weeks (free shipping deal) for and when I opened the box, I was like, sweet, these look pretty tight. Then I went to put them on, ya know, test them out, and the darned things would't fit over my big dome. I went to adjust them and i was like, they can't be adjusted! I went to lift them up and Oh snap... them things snapped!! I got mad and threw them against the wall, packaged them up, and sent them back. I still havent received my refund...

i love these headphones...they aren't sold as noise cancelling, but they do a pretty good job of it anyway. i've had these for a couple of years now...great sound, very comfortable!

Koss UR 29.......2006-07-29
When I first bought these headphones I was amazed at the quality and at how well they blocked out outside sounds, allowing me to really hear what was coming through the headphones. Whether I am using these on my computer, keyboard or with my guitar I get excellent sound, and all for such a reasonable price.
ok.......2006-04-05
these headphones are ok. slightly too tight (i do have a big head). and the sound quality is average. i do not reccomend them.
Much better than average headphones.......2006-03-04
I would rate them with 5 stars , but the cord is about 2 foot to short and I had to buy an extender in order to use the headphones as I intended to when I purchased them.

Very Impressive InFocus LP70+.......2007-12-21
This InFocus LP70+ is a very impressive projector. Presentation and preception are essential to a professional.
Sound amplification very poor, otherwise good.......2007-12-13
I had to always carry around speakers when I needed sound, which defeated the purpose of the small size of this unit. I have had good luck with it for about two years, but it did fail fully and finally the other day. Used in many locations with good luck until then, but the leg is weak and not easy to make horzontal, and it was broken off in a tiny move by someone else moving my projector.
Recommended for visual use (PowerPoint, Keynote) but not for items with sound on the road.
Pourly Made.......2007-10-12
I have had this unit in for repairs 4 time now, in the past year. Save your money buy another unit not this one.
Terrible!!!!.......2007-05-02
The initial projector was D.O.A. and I was given a refurbished one in return. It worked OK but the color was off. After about 5 months later it developed a shadow on the right edge. I sent it in for repair and when it returned, it would not focus beyond 3 feet. I sent it in for repair again and it just returned. It now powers itself down as soon as it turns the lamp on.
This projector is a DUD!
InFocus LP70+ a huge MINUS.......2006-08-26
I work in the AV department of a large company. We no longer allow our employees to purchase InFocus projectors. We had a 17% failure rate. We purchased approximately 850 LP70+ projectors in the last 14 months. I still receive at least 5 a week that need to be sent in for repair to InFocus. Most are dead on arrival. InFocus claims they got a bad shipment of power supplies which affects SN range ANEN511XXXXX to ANEN535XXXXX. We have found this range to be false. Once past 30 days InFocus will not refund and will issue a like new unit, unless you are willing to wait 4-6 for repair. Spend your money on a Panasonic projector, We have over 3000 in service. I've had only 2 go down. They are brighter and more durable than comparable models from different manufacturers. DON'T BUY InFocus.
