Sennheiser Pxc250 Stereo Mini Headphones With Noiseguard
Amazon.com Product Description
Any music fan that travels by plane, train, or bus knows that it's hard to hear the nuances of a complex melody over the roar of loud engines and your fellow travelers. Enter the dynamic, closed Sennheiser PXC 250 headphones, which employ NoiseGard active compensation to dilute ambient sound, so you can enjoy your favorite tunes without turning the volume to ear-busting levels. The headphones are also equipped with Duofol spiral-embossed diaphragms and a Kevlar-reinforced copper cable, which combine to ensure a distortion-free signal and high-quality sound, including powerful, punchy bass. Frequent travelers will appreciate the compact design, with fold-and-flip ear cups that turn 90 degrees for flat storage. If stuffing the phones into a backpack or suitcase seems too cumbersome, merely stow the phones in the included belt pouch for effortless transport. The headphones weigh only 2.29 ounces (not counting the 1.8-meter cable) and come with both 1/4-inch stereo and 3.5 mm double mono adapters (for airline audio).
The PXC 250 noise-canceling headphones are factory reconditioned, meaning they were returned to the manufacturer and restored to like-new condition. The product comes with a two-year warranty on parts and labor.
What's in the Box

Does not block airplane noise.......2007-11-22
If you just want a nice sounding pair of headphones, buy these, but if you are looking for something to knock down the airplane noise, look elsewhere. They just dont get the job done. Not even close.
AWESOME!.......2007-10-17
cheap and just as good as Bose QC! Well worth the price!!! Have had NO problems with remanufactured goods from amazon!
Great Product, I would recommend.......2007-10-16
I would reccommend this product, I was concerned that buying a remaunfactured product would cause problems, or the product would be worn, however the product came in excellent condition - impossible to tell that it wasn't a new product.
On the product front, the headphones are excellent. I have tried several different noise-cancelling systems provided by the airlines in their premium classes, and these simply blow them away, the ambient noise of the plane's air conditioning system and engines is all but cancelled out, the other great fearure is that these headphones actually produce a surprisingly good quality sound as well as their noise cancelling function.
High Quality, Performance, and Value.......2007-10-05
Purchased this remanufactured set of headphones after a colleague had shown me his on a trip. When they arrived, I was stunned. There is no way to tell that these were not BRAND NEW. Impressive. Used them for the first time on a trip to Brazil, and they performed just as expected. Their compact size with the belt carrying case makes them even more enjoyable. I also use them with my cell phone music player (you have to get an adapter for the cell phone, as the standard plug is too large) - WOW! Now, they may not block quite as much as over-the-ear headphones, but they also cost me about eighty percent LESS than those one-high-price-fits-all-because-that-is-our-policy brands. Sennheiser's reputation for quality is well-deserved; I am very pleased. My friend who introduced me to them was blown away when I told him what I paid for my "remanufactured" ones (less than HALF of what he paid). A great set of headphones for a super price...life is good!
3 for noise cancellation, 4+ for sound.......2007-09-11
On recent transatlantic trips, I took the following three pairs of noise-cancelling headphones: my wife's original Sony MDR-NC1 (I believe), the Sony MDRNC22/BLK Noise Canceling Earbuds, and the Sennheisers I am reviewing. I bought the latter (refurbished) as I have been extremely happy with the sound quality of my trusty Sennheiser PX 100 Collapsible Headphones, which my daughter claims are an extension of my body.
Active noise cancellation, by its very nature, works best on low-pitched, monotonous sounds (like airplane engine noise). Do not expect it to do much against crying children, loud female conversations (baritone and especially basso male voices are suppressed somewhat), sirens,... In fact, I could understand my female flight attendant BETTER with the noise cancellation on the PXC250 turned on, because the droning engine noise wasn't covering her up.
The Sony's are both in-ear earphones, and if the flanges fit snugly you get passive noise blocking on top of the active cancellation. The old Sony's do best overall in this regard, followed by the MDR-NC22s; the Sennheisers, which are closed on-ear types, give decent active cancellation and just a little bit of passive blocking (if you position them carefully on your ear). This is a minus when trying to "block out" noisy people around you, but a plus when walking on the street as you are still aware of your surroundings.
Also, noise cancelling headphones always seem to entail sacrifices in sounds quality. The MDR-NC22 are overall best rated as "tolerable"; the old MDR-NC1 just okay, not great; I find these Sennheisers actually fairly pleasant to listen to, at least with the cancellation/sound enhancement circuitry turned on. Still, I'm not giving away my open-air PX 100s, as these still do better (as will any high-quality "conventional" pair of headphones).
Comfort depends on the person: I can wear these for hours without being bothered by them, while I tend to find in-ear earphones uncomfortable for extended wearing. Your mileage may vary, and also will be a function of what you find less annoying: objects splaying your ear canal or obnoxiously loud neighbors on the plane/subway/train/....
The refurbished unit I got functions like new. It came with a convenient carrying pouch (with a belt loop), which also holds my iPod Nano now. I keep 4 AAA batteries in the outer pouch, but battery life of the unit is pretty impressive: I'm still on the 1st pair of batteries and they have been going for 30+ hours now.
On the whole, if you can't deal with in-ear earphones and can't afford to spend US$350 on Bose® QuietComfort® 3 Acoustic Noise Cancelling® Headphones or US$450 on Sennheiser PXC 450 NoiseGard Active Noise Canceling Headphones, these may be a good buy, especially at the Amazon price.

Excellent product !.......2007-12-18
Excellent product, highly recommended, very crisp and high contrast image!
Very pleased with the delivery as well, the box was in excellent condition.
Great TV, probably more than you need.......2007-11-27
I bought this set because I needed the 3 HDMI ports and I wanted the best picture. Have had no problems after one month, no banding issues, great contrast and vivid pictures. I don't think that you can do any better with any other set but I also don't think that you would be able to tell the difference with less expensive sets either. I compared the 92 with a 62 in the store side by side and could not tell any difference. In my house I also have the Sony 52W3000 and can't tell the difference. Going to a friends house (not side by side) who has a Samsung, they all look great. My advise is don't worry about the specs of the TV too much. All the brand names look great and you won't be able to tell the difference. Buy based on price as much as based on the brand and model.
Excellent 52" LCD, compact size.......2007-11-05
Overall very pleased with this 1080p HDTV. It works great with Comcast DVR cable box for hi def, it delivers perfect 1080p picture from Toshiba HD DVD player, and the DVI worked fine with my VGA outputs on my laptop using a VGA/DVI adapter plug. Putting my videophile hat on, in rare circumstance I can spot the "banding" this set is famous for, which reminds me a bit of seeing the northern lights in a dark sky. But no set is perfect, and that is a small tradeoff for all the other well executed features. Note there are no side inputs, and speaker does detach which made it fit a spot I had which only had 31" of vertical clearance.
Absolutely Perfect!.......2007-10-22
I wouldn't change a single thing. The thing I was worried about most was how well the T.V. would handle fast moving shots like sports. It does it perfectly. My older, 32", Sony Bravia XBR, has little boxes that appear occasionally on fast moving shots, and I have seen several other brands do this as well. I am happy to say that after 10 days of viewing this new set, I haven't seen any boxes. The other thing I was worried about was how well regular T.V. (non HD shows) would look. Some sets can make them look really bad. Not so with this Sharp. It makes them look so good that if the TV is in one of its stretch modes, my wife and I frequently have a hard time telling if the program is in HD or not. Lots of shows look that good.
Awesome TV, quick service.......2007-10-15
Nice TV. A little too big for my 14 feet viewing distance, but it's gorgeous! Black is very deep, Not much artifacts with fast action scene. Lots of inputs (except there is only 1 S-Video input). I wish there are 2 RF inputs and PIP/split screen. The little speakers sitting at the bottom of the screen sounds reasonable for TV. You wouldn't use them to watch movies anyway. The remote is a little bulky in my opinion, but favorite channels buttons are awesome (4 of them for you to cycle thru 16 channels). The only complaint I really have is that the TV screen dims a little when you switch channels. Then the brightness returns to normal (I turned the OPC off already). It's a little annoying, but doesn't affect the picture quality at all.
Electronics Express rocks! They never emailed me when the TV was shipped. Within 4 business days of ordering, the shipping company (Eagles) called me to schedule a delivering date and time. They came @ 1pm sharp and dropped off the TV. Unfortunately, they wouldn't help me set it up. I just wished the company would send me an email when they shipped the TV already. But, it's quick service anyway.
Can't complain, would definitely recommend this TV and Electronics Express.
