Customer Reviews:
One of the best out there.......2007-11-29
Top of the line product. I own the super.fi 5 Pro, the Beyerdynamic DT 770-80, and a variety of other headphones. These are my most commonly used headphones. These actually have excellent bass impact, much like the DT 770s, but are portable. The super.fi 5 Pro have more detail, but simply do not have enough bass. The detail on these is still excellent. The range is also excellent.
Also: give them time to burn-in. Don't simply listen to them and send them back. Their sound does change with a bit of time. If you still don't like them after a few weeks, then send them back.
The best sounding headphones ever, worth every cent and more.......2007-11-03
Since there's already a number of very detailed reviews on here I'll stick to my personal thoughts and leave off the specifics.
First off, these are simply amazing sounding. If these are your first pair of high end headphones, you're really in for a surprise. It takes a tremendously expensive and well set-up home theater system to even come close to the sound you can get with these. You'll find yourself listening through all your old music just to see how different it sounds when you can hear every nuance of the sound.
These are in-ear phones, but not deep insertion. From what I've heard, even better sound can be acheived with deep canal phones, but I have never tried a pair that was at all comfortable. This is a very important difference. Even if you've found in-ear headphones to be uncomfortable in the past, I would strongly encourage you to give these a chance. Do yourself a favor and try each of the different tips before settling on one.
They cancel outside noise very well, almost too well for some situations. This can be nice though, it lets you play music at a reasonable volume in situations where you'd have to crank lesser phones to the max. My largest gripe about these is that they can transmit wind noise very loudly at times. Shouldn't be a problem for wearing while running, but they get quite annoying to wear for cycling.
If you're extremely fashion conscious, be wary. Have you ever seen a picture of someone wearing these? Chances are you haven't, there's a reason why UE shows pics of the regular Super.fi 5s being worn and not the EBs. They're not hideous or anything, but they do stick out at a kind of odd and unexpected angle.
As far as the bass goes, it's great sounding but nothing to be worried about. Just take into account your preferred styles of music when deciding between the regular and EB models. If you listen to mainly rock, metal, hip-hop or pop, I'd strongly reccomend the EBs. Most modern rock and rap is mixed in a way that benefits from the extra bass, there's not much worry of it overpowering your music.
Best headphones I've ever owned!!.......2007-10-10
I've been through some great Sony in-ear fontopias, Bose Tri-Ports and Shure E2C's.
The E2C are great, but didn't have enough bass for me.
These give me the base and the mid and high clarity the E2C's gave me.
These will be keepers for a very long time.
Foam tips rule!
A good value for the price..........2007-08-25
I've read some of the reviews here criticizing how the bass on the EB's are overemphasized. I would have to disagree. Anyone who has listened to a lot of live music, especially pop(and it's sub-genres), rock(and it's sub-genres), would say these ear phones are spot on. The bass is powerful and deep, but hardly overtake the music in any way. Let the "cd listeners" have their "balanced" sound. To me, it's not real.
The mids and highs are well done also. While not the best I've heard, are detailed and neither to far back or to far forward on the soundstage. Nothing fatiguing here, so listening long term is enjoyable.
My only (minor) criticism is that they are physically long ear phones. I wish they came in clear so they would be less noticeable. If this doesn't bother you, you should be very happy with them. Considering the price(
< $130), how can you go wrong?
Overall, I give them a grade of A-.
Edit - I wrote this review based on listening through a 2nd generation iPod Nano.
Good sound and quality.......2007-08-21
After having used these earphones for about 15 days I can say that I'm very pleased with it's sound.
Although I found them initially uncomfortable now I changed my mind.
They have a very good bass response. I use them with an Ipod nano and the sound is very good, but they lack the high frequencies, so I had to set the Ipod equalizer in "amplify trebble" position. With this setting the bass is very good and the trebble is also good. The isolation is not complete but if you put the volume high you will not hear anything outside.
I put a four star because of the lack of trebble, compared to other earphones I have like Sony or Senheiser. I suppose that the top models have a better response, but they cost a lot of more money.
I found that the cable doesn't have a good design because it has to be in front: I prefer the left cable shorter than the right earphone cable so you can put it behind your neck as with Sony models.
Resuming I'd buy again these earphones because I'm very satisfied.

Customer Reviews:
Ultra Slim has design flaws........2007-12-12
If you are only concerned about the top 80% of the TV it looks good...even great but when the ESPN banner comes across the bottom it looks as if the stats are on a roller coaster. Samsung rep came out and said it was in spec??? Amazon is returning w/o cost....read other comments on eagle delivery there right on. Note: I own a 50" SAMSUNG DLP for 2 1/2 years and it is great....someone just dropped the ball on this model.
Amazing DLP.......2007-12-06
Just got my samsung 61" last week from Amazon. I highly recommend this T.V. The picture will just blow you away with it's amazing color, clarity and black contrast. I made sure to take a ride to my local Circuit City in order to get a good comparison with other brands. The Samsung's were in a class of their own. Even compared to the Sony. The main advantage is vivid color clarity. Sports with the 1080 feed is a dream. It's like seeing the game through a luxury box at the stadium. How did we ever live with analog TV???
Almost bought this TV.......2007-11-30
I was ready to buy this TV but, based on some of the comments re bowing of the picture, I decided I'd better double check. I had already seen one in a store and was generally impressed but this reviewer mentioned that the problem was particular obvious when there was a ticker on the bottom of the screen and the content playing when I first saw the TV had not included one so it's possible I missed the problem.
This would be a showstopper for me, not merely because any perceptible distortion seems unreasonable for a TV costing over a $1000, but also because one of my main uses will be as a display for my Mac Mini HTPC which has an ever present set of icons at the bottom that would make the distortion obvious on a regular basis.
I found a local store with a set of DLP TV's nicely arrayed by size and which were playing a sports news program that periodically showed tickers at the bottom. With no tickers, they all looked pretty similar and the Samsung's picture was quite good but, much to my chagrin, when the ticker came on, the Samsung did indeed appear to be distorted at the bottom of the screen. However, rather than being bowed, it was actually tilted to the left. Since the talking heads were not tilted, it was clear this was some type of nonlinear distortion predominantly affecting the very bottom part of the screen.
None of the similar sized adjacent DLP TV's, which included Sony and Toshiba as well as the Samsung's 57" cousin, appeared to have this problem. The ticker at the bottom was completely straight on all of them.
To make sure it wasn't my imagination, I actually went and measured it against the screen. The ticker was approximately 1" from the bottom bezel on the left and 1.5" on the right so it was, unfortunately, not my imagination.
This was quite disappointing, not only because in every other respect, this TV appears to be a good value proposition, but also because I was especially looking forward to the slim depth. My entertainment center is only 17" deep and my current projection TV juts out over 5" from the front as would many of the Samsung's current competitors. This one would have fit nicely inside.
All of the similar sized TV's surrounding the Samsung had deep cabinets. However, they did have a 65" Mitsubishi with a slim cabinet. Interestingly, the Mitsubishi (Mitsubishi WD-65733 65" 1080p DLP HDTV) was not initially playing the same sports news program but rather a demo HD loop made especially for them which looked rather washed out and had poor color accuracy leaving me rather unimpressed.
I hadn't been much concerned since I wasn't looking at 65" TVs but once I started considering this as an alternative to the Samsung, I asked the sales person to switch it to show the same sports program. Instantly, the picture looked 100% better and rivaled the best of the other 50+" DLP TV's again showing how important the content is to any evaluation of a TV.
There was also a very slight amount of distortion at the bottom but much less than the Samsung ( I'm beginning to think that the manufacturers have not quite yet worked out the kinks of these huge yet ultra-slim DLPs). However, I could live with this amount in exchange for the slim depth. Of course, this TV cost a few hundred dollars more than I would have paid for the Samsung, but, as compensation, I got a bigger screen.
I would advise anyone interested in buying this TV, with concerns similar to mine, to see it in person and with the type of content that will show this problem, before making a buying decision.
Great Picture, But Major Flaws Including Terrible Bowing.......2007-11-30
I previously owned a 720p Sony TV and decided to upgrade....big mistake. I received this TV and have since returned it after a week. The picture is nice and pretty dang clear. The bad is that it bows. It is as if something was sitting on top of the TV pushing down to create a "bowing" effect. It is terrible when you watch movies with the wide-screen (i.e. black bars). Also, you can notice it greatly on the TV Guide channel and any other channel like ESPN or CNN with the ticker at the bottom of the screen.
Another problem that I had is that even after adjusting the colors for some time, the reds bled a little bit and were just to bright.
The good is that the TV is cheap (price) but also bad b/c it is cheap (cheap construction).
I do not recommend this TV. I have since bought a SONY SXRD 55 inch for about $150 more, and it is great.
DLP TV.......2007-11-05
The TV arrived on time even though had a bit of trouble coordinating with Eagle Freight. Works great. Has a ton of inputs that made purchasing a new reciever unnecessary. Great picture and sound quality.
