Customer Reviews:
Possibly the best rock headphones for the price.......2007-12-12
I picked a pair of the BeyerDynamic DT990s about a month and a half ago. I love them. They could quite possible be the best "fun" headphones for the price.
If you're looking for something well balanced, these aren't gonna be them(Try the AKG K701s or Senn HD650s instead). If you want something that's just a blast to listen to, don't look any further.
Awesome bass. Deep, powerful, tight enough for metal. What else do you need? There's lots of nice clean bass...but not too much where it overpowers the mids.
Sparkling highs...these headphones are on the bright side. There's no denying that. It's my thing and many others love it while others hate it. As with all audio, everyone likes their a different sound. The way guitars and cymbals sound through these headphones is simply beautiful.
The clarity of the DT990s is superb. You hear everything, whether you want to or not. You definitely need a quality source otherwise you will hear ever part of the bad recording. They're not forgiving what so ever.
Listening to songs through these headphones has made some songs sound completely different...I hear things I've never heard before! Quite amazing and my previous pair of headphones are pretty decent(Grado SR-80).
Also, these headphones need an amp. If you try to power them off an mp3 player or a sound card you may be disappointed.
These headphones are perfect for rock and electronica. While everything sounds great through them, they excel at the mentioned two.
If you like rock, give these headphones a shot. Do make sure to let them burn in as they sound totally different after about 100 hours.
Lastly, these headphones are a bit bright so pairing them with a nice warm amp will make them sound their best

Works perfectly for me.......2007-04-28
It's now 2007 and I bought this projector in 2003 and it's still running strong. I use it to watch TV and DVDs. About half a year ago the bulb popped and I had to replace it. This was expected to happen at some point, but HP doesn't make it very easy to order the bulb online, you have to call and then they can't find the part etc.. And it was quite expensive ($500). The only other complaint I have is the noise level of the fan. Ohter than that it runs perfectly and very reliably and has never failed me.
perfectly fine projector.......2007-04-11
I have been reading the other reviews on this item and I thought I would say something about mine. I have not had any problems with it nor has it broken down within the past 4 months i've had it. the only problem i found with mine is the noise(i think it might be the fan or color wheel that needs to be lubricated). But other than that I think it is a very good projector. I just wish it had an HDMI input along with component.
Looks ok, works like?.......2004-11-10
We bought this unit for use at the office and it worked great for the first few months. Then it started searching for signal from time to time. Now it just quits working after about 30-40 minutes with the Lamp Fail indicator lit. A shut down wait 5-10 min and restart gets it running again, at least for a time.
After reading the other review about BenQ insides did a little searching and found the BenQ PB8220 looks very much the same as the VP6120. Hmmmm we feel cheated and are looking into repair/return options.
My VP6120 is unreliable -- and I think I know why >.......2004-06-01
When I first set this up it performed perfectly - picture is great, I bought it for DVD play back and use a PC for doing just that; you can't beat XGA DVD play back using a PC. (well you couldn't at the time anyway, but you can buy HD DVD players now which should do just as well). 2 months later it kept shutting down with the Lamp Fail indicator lit. I phoned HP and after a few calls they sent a new lamp with little fuss, cheers HP! But the new lamp had some sort of problem and it produced bright patches on the screen (the kind I didn't want - by the way HP I don't think ANY of your users would be stupid enough to NOT try projecting a different image, DUH). After another couple of calls HP sent a second replacement lamp, cheers again. Everything was fine for a few months, but now the main cooling fan has failed, so the thing overheats and shuts down. I couldn't resist the temptation and opened the unit up (its just a bloody $5 fan crippling my $2000 projector):
THE GUTS ARE ALL BENQ! This projector appears to be a rebadged BENQ projector. Only thing is that BENQ's equivalent is only 1700 lumens / 200W lamp. HPs is 2000 lumens / 250W lamp. Is my HP fitted with an overpowered lamp perhaps? Did HP decide to squeeze too much from their (ahem... i mean, BENQs, or do I really mean ACERs?) design?
Conclusion:
This projector looks and feels like HP - but does it last like HP? I might be the unlucky one.
The HP VP6120 may have reliability issuses.......2003-12-08
First of all, the picture quality of this is amazing and I had no complaints for the first 6 weeks before breaking down. It is currently being repaired at HP and has been out of service for 3 weeks. They have no clue when they can return it because of the number of people in front of me for there repair. I told them to just send me a new one but they wouldn't budge on there warranty policy. I just have to wait. So now Im out $2000 and have nothing.
Normally, HP would do a FedEx overnight exchange on this product but because of the back log of repaires it is not possible at this time. I can't help but wonder, if so many are in for repair, is there a reliabilty issue. If I had my wish, I would want my money back and get a different brand
