The SR325 incorporates all of the design features of the lesser models, combined with UHPLC wire in both the voice coil and connecting cord. Non-resonant Aluminum alloy is used in the make up of the metal driver housings. Grado also embarked on a complex treatment in order to increase the materials porosity. This ensures that the earphone chamber has no "ringing" which may obscure detail or add coloration. The resulting headphone combines clean open highs, well defined mid range and vocal bass.

Great Cans... just not for your iPod.......2007-11-20
In the interest of open disclosure, I am an unabashed Grado fan after my husband bought me a pair of RS-1s for Christmas several years ago. I was using them to play an electronic violin and also an electric piano and the RS1s gave true-to-life sound reproduction. However, they also cost 700 bucks.
Since I have started traveling again, I'm listening to a lot more music on the computer or a portable (Zune) device. I love LOVE the Shure Earbuds for their ability to put you in your own "bubble" yet sounding like you are in Orchestra Hall. Alas, a problem with ear buds is that they can give you middle ear infections because of all the gunk and bacteria in your ear getting jammed even further in (and if you don't disinfect them then the old goo makes it even worse).
So I've gotten some Grados to alleviate this problem. In doing my research, I learned that these cans are really not designed to be used with iPods and other MP3 players. They just don't have enough power to give you the kind of volume you need.
This is a case where "less is more" and you have to find the best headphones for your particular device. If you are looking for a headphone to listen to MP3s etc, save your money and buy the SR225s for a hundred bucks less or even the SR125s for a 150.00 less. You'll get better response from your headphones, MP3 player and just imagine all the music downloads you can purchase with that extra money!

The best headphones ever! (In my experience).......2007-07-02
Previously used headphones: Sennheiser HD570, Sennheiser HD580, Sennheiser HD600. Used friend's Sennheiser HD650 for 2 weeks.
After three pairs of Sennheiser products, I wanted to try Grado's headphones because I'd only heard good things about them. I originally thinking about getting SR225 but deceided to invest another $100 and got the SR325i.
I thought HD580 was amazing while HD600 being slightly better than HD580 despite of the huge difference in price. Comparing those two pairs to this Grado SR325i is a CRIME. They do not even come close! SR325i privdes amazing details and clarity. Loud but not noisy. I didn't expect excellent bass sound from Grado but it is far better than HD580/600's bass.
Now, Sennheiser HD650 is at a different class if you go by price. Call me crazy but SR325i provides better sound than HD650 does.

For your reference, I listen to pretty much all genres of music. Rock, alternative, classical, jazz, metal, pop, punk, trance, hardcore, and even some hiphop. (I mostly enjoy music in FLAC format)
SR325i has not failed me in any genres so far.
I really can't explain it. It is just something that you have to experience yourself. Put them on, start playing your favorite tunes. close your eyes, and you'll find yourself with the artist in the same room. I've only had 20 hours of burn-in so far, and I expect the sound to get better as they get some more burn-in. Heck, they're forcing me to get an amp now. I'm gonna go broke soon. =)

The SR 325i beat any headphones I owned or listened too.
Defiantly a step up from the 125 series. Natural sound with great vitality, Bach never sounded better.

Get many freebies from publishers, ensuring authors not full of B*S*- so rarely pay for books reviewed!
So my (past) company owned top 10 global hi-fi companies (e.g. Audiolab)- personally listened to $500k home hi-fi.
Then to Grados, initially too obvious of stuff (bad recordings), take 50 hours whitenoise to sort ($1 itunes download, repeat)).
Grado SR 80s great, 125s better (best iPod-ers), 325s better than $3k speaker set ups. Why?- bass, musicality, in-face (rather than asleep in row 50), detail, separation, easy drivability, musicality again. Tears happen- they are so good. Bose (Puke- 5% of quality), Senns maybe 60% at best. Ignore the looks, listen to sound...
Btw try with valve amp Dott 11+ from china- WOW!!!!

Regrettable purchase........2006-09-29
Purchased the SR325I here and was impressed with the sound. Then they stopped working after about 2hrs use. Returned them for repairs. Repairs lasted only about an hour then left can stopped working. Returned and asked for them to replace with new set. These lasted 15 minutes before they again quit working. Returned these to Grado and asked for a full refund and as of yet have not heard from them or received my money. Nor have they responded to the complaint filed with the Better Business Bureau.
The headphones sounded good when they did work, the problem is probably an assembly issue and most defintely an issue of attitude with these people. BEWARE buying these! If you have problems with them you may be out $300 like I am.

Solid Plasma for the money.......2007-01-07
I was skeptical about buying a TV online, but was very pleased when my product was delivered in excellent condition by a pleasant delivery service who helped me unpack and then remove the packaging materials. Now to the TV itself. Philips is known for making very attractive products, and this 50 inch plasma TV is no exception. In addition to good looks, the set also has a decent list of features with a built in HD tuner, HDMI input, and twin Component HD inputs. Another neat feature is a USB input with the ability to download software updates for the TV. I have not tried it yet, but a good idea if it works properly. The picture quality is not the best I have seen in shopping plasmas (Panasonic and Pioneer come to mind) but for the price, you will not be disappointed. I have watched over the air HD and played Xbox 360 and both looked great with proper adjustments. That leads me to the most frustrating thing, the lack of independent memory for each input. In other words, your personal settings apply to all inputs, and if you adjust one, all are changed. The presets are way off from a picture quality standpoint so be prepared to access the picture menu often. This would not be so annoying if the menu system was easy, but it is not! Many commands are counterintuitive (pressing OK on the remote moves you back a menu, not forward) and frustrating. The remote also lacks an input button, so you must change channels to arrive at the HDMI and component inputs, again annoying. In the end, I am happy with my purchase when factoring in price and picture size were my primary considerations. Buy with confidence. Enjoy!
