You can hear every word while watching a movie or whatever. The only negative are the ear buds, they start to bug you after having them in your ears for a while, otherwise their nice and not just for the hard of hearing.

The Samsung Digital Natural Image engine (DNIe) Video Enhancer refines all analog NTSC and wideband video inputs for an overall improvement in picture quality. DNIe improves contrast, white level, picture detail and incorporates digital noise reduction to improve lower quality video inputs. The 3-line digital comb filter constantly analyzes the three dimensions of picture height, picture width, and picture changes-over-time to dramatically reduce edge image artifacts while improving transition detail. Samsung's Cinema Smooth 3:2 pull-down film mode corrects for the artificial frames created when films are converted to DVDs. The result is a clearer image without the subtle motion artifacts caused by 24-to-30 frames per second video conversion.
Samsung's 2.6-inch color wheel spins at 14,400 rpm for smooth, fast motion video, and has five color segments for more accurate colors. You will need a separate RCA left/right audio cable for sound.

Do yourself a favor-- get a Samsung HD television, you will not regret it. Save the hundreds of other dollars to invest in a better cable package, DVD player, sound system, etc.

I've had this tv for almost a yr now and when it is tuned to a hi-def channel my mouth still hangs open! Just beautiful.
Non hi-def channels look great also.
Sound quality is typical tv set sound(average).
Only thing that could be better is if it were flat & light enough to hang on the wall, but you can't have everything. At least not at this price. ;)

Great Picture - Great Price.......2007-09-18
I purchased this TV with some apprehension after reading some of the negative reviews. However, it has now been 6+ months and the TV is amazing. Amazon delivered this superb TV all the way up the stairs to my apartment and even took it out of the box and set it up on my TV stand for me. The picture quality is fantastic (highly recommend the Planet Earth HD DVDs for some amazing images) and it was fairly easy to set up. The only reason I give it a 4 out of 5 is because the picture settings have inexplicably gotten lost (i.e. reset somehow). While this has only occurred a few times, it is definitely annoying as I have no idea why the TV reset itself.
I had initially been looking for an LCD/Plasma as I wanted a "skinny" TV, but was a little put-off at the high price for 1080P HD TVs. However, after seeing this one "in person" at the local Circuit City, I was hooked. The image quality is amazing with bright colors and crisp picture and, for being a DLP, it is still fairly thin. I had looked into buying an Aquos or Bravia but am so glad that I made this purchase instead as I was able to get a considerably larger TV (56" DLP as opposed to 40-42" LCD/Plasma) for the same price as a "thin" TV.

We purchased this at Christmas time and have really enjoyed its great bright beautiful colors especially on hi def. I install satellite systems and see a lot of hi def tv's and so far this is the brightest, clearest and most defined picture I have seen.

I purchased this DLP TV several months ago and I haven't been disappointed. The picture quality is great. About my only complaint would be that you can't (or at least I can't figure it out) set and store the individual picture viewing modes/settings for each A/V input. Other than that, I'm totally pleased. This TV has deep, inky blacks and vibrant colors. Great for gaming too!
