3 out of 5 stars Ok, but not for me!.......2007-10-27

This headset was light and worked very well, it just didn't fit my ear well at all. The earpiece dangled straight down in front of my ear hole, and I could not bend it to fit. If I kept a finger pressing on the earpiece, it would go into and fit my ear hole pretty well, but then I might as well have been holding the phone itself against my ear!

I returned the headset for credit. I have not yet (10/27/07) received the credit for it.

If u can understand my title, then thats what to expect from this headset. When paired to my i860, it doesn't work no farther than 2 feet. About 5 feet on my Treo. The rubber earpiece doesn't really stay in the ear. constantly playing with it to hear. Hands Free? not so, it may free your hands from holding fone, but they will be needed to constantly adjust or hold this POS in ur ear.

2 out of 5 stars do yourself a favour and buy something better.......2006-02-26

This is my first BT headset. I tried to read as many reviews as I could before buying a headset, and I liked the behind-the-ear design of this one, plus the Jabra name sounds good at the market, so I decided to buy one. It was easy to pair, but later on, it lost pairing a few times. I don't like the feel of the main button (on-off and call answer). It doesn't give any feedback to your finger. You can accidentally hit it when taking the headset on. This is important for me because I don't wear it at all times (only when talking).
Sound quality is good, I have to admit.
The main thing I hate is, once you have an incoming call and press the button, nothing happens for approx. 2 seconds. If you start accepting the call and telling your name, the caller will miss that. The headset will not tell you when the connection is made, you can only guess. I think there should be a beep played or something at the very beginning of the conversation, so as you know when to start talking. This is really annoying as it is now.
I also don't like that this headset is thick. It keeps your ear away from your head, which looks funny. Please, don't believe those reviews saying that you can even forget you're actually wearing it. It's simply not true.
The unit is not working in windy conditions. Your partner will not hear you and they will be begging you to go indoors immediately.
And the worst thing is only to come. My headset died in 6 months. It was never dropped or anything. The sound just became more and more distorted and my friends reported a crazy background noise (sg like if I was standing in the middle of a thunderstorm), which I couldn't hear in the headset. In a few days time it became worse and worse and at the end no understandable voice was coming through.
I will not even try to get a replacement. I was thinking about buying the bt500, but I read lots of bad reviews about that one also. I decided to get a Plantronics Discovery 640 instead.

3 out of 5 stars Good when there is not any surrounding noise.......2005-12-14

This unit has good sound and supports enhanced features like voice dial and redial last number. The sound quality (in and out) are good when in a quiet environment, like driving or in an office. If walking outside on a nice day you will still create too much noise for the other party to hear you, which is also the case if there is a small breeze or it is windy. The range is less than advertised unless you are in direct sight of your phone or other Bluetooth device. For example, I get noise if the phone is in my right hip pocket and the Jabra headset is on my right ear. However, I do like the way it fits and the sound I receive is good. Overall I like it and do use it often. I do wish they used a univeral power supply so that I would not have to take theirs with my on my trips.

1 out of 5 stars Piece of JUNK.......2007-09-29

The one I had, had the most beautiful picture I had seen on a TV, I was raving abut it. Unfortunately it only worked for 1 month, and it would have cost me 105 dollars to send it back. Who knows if it would have worked . My advice would be to not buy this product or any Proview product, without doing a lot of homework. personally i have had enough interaction with Proview, that I will not buy any product that they produce. If you have a lot of money to waste and you don't mind flushing your money down the toilet, check this out, otherwise I suggest you look elsewhere. Mag and Polaroid 32 inch HDTV's are two other products that this company produces, and I strongly you don't buy.

I spent many hours visiting local electronics stores and searching the internet for a 32" HDTV with specs that would last into the future. I had a price range of under $1000. As I looked for products and checked specs, I discovered that a number of the available sets were made by a company named Proview.
Proview turns out to be one of the Top 4 monitor manufacturers in the world. The company markets some products under its own name and many under other brand names, such as MAG, Polaroid, Xerox, KDS, EMC, etc. It does over 1 billion dollars in business each year in the US with such companies as Best Buy, Circuit City, Office Depot and Walmart.

I was very impressed with the brands that Proview makes, but I couldn't find the Proview brand itself except on their website:[...]

After reading the specs, I concluded that they seem to reserve the best HDTV feature set for their own name. This set includes all the features of the other brands, plus a few more. I searched the internet, looking for reviews on this Model, but found very little. The Proview brand itself doesn't seem to have a very wide distribution. After looking at a number of the 32" sets that they make for others, I took a chance and bought the PA-32JK1A sight unseen. I have not regretted it!

One of the features that stood out for me was the number of inputs. (With the new HD standards taking effect shortly, for a HDTV set to meet future needs, it will be necessary for it to have multiple HD inputs.) Not many other sets in this price range have this many useable inputs. It also includes the standard audio outputs, plus both optical, coaxial and earphone.

When I started shopping, I tried to compare specifications regarding such things as "contrast ratio" and "brightness". These specs are apparently very subjective and seem quite inconsistent. I found comparing side by side hands on picture brightness, clarity, tone and depth seem to worked much better for me. The high definition picture quality on the Proview is absolutely superb! I just cannot believe the sharp, crisp, photo quality of the over the air HD and Satellite broadcasts. There are numerous picture adjustments that I really haven't, as yet, felt a need to explore.

Both the standard and the ATSC HD tuners seem to be quite sensitive and pull in station better than my old CRT sets. I was able to pull in a number of HD stations over 70 miles distant even with my old antenna system. After I upgrade my antenna, I hope to do even better.

The intuitive menu system on the Proview is quite extensive. It operates according to what you have attached to the inputs. They are input specific and include feature sets that deal with the attributes of that particular input. They allow for extensive adjustments, especially on some inputs.

The Picture in a Picture(PIP) & Picture on a Picture(POP) feature has really come in handy in comparing the input signals of my various components and antenna signals. It's also useful for watching one program and monitoring another at the same time. Both the "on" and "in" picture features are accessible from the remote.

The remote control is convenient to use. The buttons are logically located and easy to find. Various picture modes, sound modes, size/zoom modes, source, channel lists, favorite channels, hdtv guide, basic info, timer, picture freeze and the menus can be easily access with the remote. The remote only controls the television. It might be nice to have a universal remote.

The front controls include channel, volume, on/off, menu and source. At first I had a hard time getting them to work by pressing them. Actually, they are not "press" controls, but "touch" controls. All that is needed is a touch of the finger, and they work great! The side inputs are handy for a quick connect of a camcorder and headphone. (I have a Sony MiniDV and what a great image it produces on this set!)

The Proview PA-32JK1A and its well designed, uncluttered, glossy black finish is understated in such a way that it gives the impression of elegance.

The swivel stand turned out to be very handy during setup. Changing cables inside my entertainment center was made very convenient with the swivel feature. The set will also mount on a wall.

There were only a few issues that detracted from this product. First, I noticed that when I connected the standard sound output to an external amp the signal was somewhat low. It was just adequate for the amp, but I like booming sound when my wife is not at home. I corrected the problem by connecting directly from my DVD player to the amp. (I did not try the coax or optical output.) Second, the remote control signal does not always seem to get a response from the unit. It is not real often, but once in a while the pressing of a button does not get a reaction. I have contacted Proview Technical Support in this matter and they are sending out a new remote control. It also would be nice to have a universal remote included with the unit.

Overall, I am very pleased with the Proview. I would definitely recommend this set.

2 out of 5 stars Cheap materials, poor weilding........2005-10-08

It does the job, but its incredibly unsturdy. The welding broke off of both of my stands when i was attaching the screw in the outerpost to keep my my stand extensions up, so i know it's not just a one time incident. I wish I didn't order these, albeit the cheap price.

4 out of 5 stars excellent stands for its price.......2005-09-27

Not knowing much about speaker stands, I did some research on Google, eBay, and Amazon on what looks, feels, and works best for any satellite speakers. Mine are surrounds from my Onkyo 570 HTIB (refurbished from Shop Onkyo). I finally decided on these stands because I read some great things about OmniMount. Its presentation is very classy (at least in the photos!), they're not cheap (cheapest I found was here on Amazon), and they don't look cheap either.

It arrived today in a huge shipping box with lots of air bubbles. The actual product itself is neither heavy or big. It's very simple: 2 rods, two relatively heavy stands (a sort of sandy, matte black finish), and some bolts, screws, and what-not. You just screw the rods onto the plus-shapped stands (4 legs), mount your speaker to the top of the rods, and you're done! My speakers don't have screw holes; rather, they have screw plates that mount onto a screw that sticks out of the wall. So I just unscrewed one of the screws that hold the plate, put on the vertical side of the L adapter that came with the stands, and screwed both back onto the speaker. Then I attach the horizontal end of the L adapter onto the top of the rod (it's just a screw hole), and I'm done. I tried feeding my 16-gauge wires from the bottom of the rods, but they got jammed somewhere inside, so I'll need to run some thin wires from the top, tie them to the speaker wires, and pull them up (instead of unplugging the long wires from the receiver).

Even with the wires showing, the stands look great! I saw some glass stands elsewhere, but was afraid I'd crack them. These are very contemporary, simple, minimalistic, made with durable material, and are perfect for my cheapo-but-still-awesome-sounding Onkyo system.
