JVC's HAW100RF are stereo headphones. The system consists of two components, the headphone/receiver module and the transmitter. The phones are powered by rechargeable NiCad batteries. The supplied NiCads bow an impressive operating life of up to 13 hours per charge. That's a lot longer than what you'll experience with even very pricey wireless 'phones from some other manufacturers.

I chose this model because of the good reviews of it here on Amazon.com. I do not think so highly of this model as others. There is a constant hissing sound that I could not ignore. The music was always louder out of one ear than the other. I only used the phones once and I was only two feet from the stereo. I could not stand them any longer.
These faults may not bother some people as much as it does me. Even though I paid only $11 for the set, I'd rather crank up my stereo and bother the neighbors than try to listen to music with these things.

Good headset for the price. Nice range and it come with batteries. Rechargeable ones at that! Just danced the night away under the aurora 500 feet from the base and never so much as a crackle or hiss.
Only negative I've seen so far is the headset is a little tight.Not unusual for me with a size 8 head!

These are the best and coolest headphones in the world. They transmit like 900 ft and still sound good. The best headphones for your money.
Adequate for music, distracting for video.......1999-11-15
The headphones are adequate for music or radio listening where typically there are not any temporary lapses in audio. For use in conjunction with video they become distracting and annoying due to low level hum/hiss (similar to that in an inexpensive cordless phone). This becomes more noticeable when there are quieter scenes in the video.
Sound quality is okay; range reproduction is not to bad for a cordless unit and better than some corded units. There is a volume control on the headset, once I got use to it's location I found myself using it instead of the receiver volume. They are fairly comfortable for short-term usage, anything over 1 hour and they can start to get uncomfortable. This is even more noticeable if glasses are worn, as the smaller cup size on these headphones has a tendency to apply pressure against the glass frames.
The range was okay, once they are initially tuned (which does take a little effort). Depending upon the range you are moving, you may need to fine tune them again (not a problem when used with video because you're not moving as much). Fine tuning controls are located on both the base and the headset.
Hardware is provided to accommodate almost any hook up configuration required and length of wires was good. The set up instructions were fairly clear and easy to follow (and multi lingual). The set does includes rechargeable ni-card batteries.
My main intent was for video usage when I purchased these and these did not meet my expectations (I returned them). If my intended usage was to be audio, I might have given them 3 stars. I will try the Sony MDR-RF930K 900 MHz next.
