Handheld Items is a great internet retailer, but I can't recommend these canalphones.

They look good, but the quality just isn't there. The cord is flimsy and the rubber tips extremely thin. (I immediately removed the tips and replaced them with much more substantial and comfortable spares from my Shure E2C's, which fit perfectly.)

As for sound quality, what can you expect from a $10 set of earphones?

I didn't expect much, to be sure, given the price -- and I got just that: not much bass, not much fullness -- just thin, unimpressive sound.

This set really makes me appreciate my Shure's, which cost 4x as much, but sound 40x fuller and better!

In short, these HHI 'phones might be acceptable for yardwork or gym workouts, if you just want something disposable and aren't particularly discriminating about sound quality -- or they might be passable for listening to spoken word broadcasts/podcasts.

IMHO, though, life is too short to listen to crappy-sounding audio. For that reason, I would advise skipping these and saving your money for something of higher quality.

Well i bought these from HandHeld items site directly. 5Hz-21KHz... what a joke that is. This thing has absolutely no base. A $5 philips pair performs better... Very high pitched... anyhoo... decided to send it back to the HHI (stand for HandHeldItems which is what that "HHi" in the title is)... which has been a royal pain... and when i left a negative feedback on their site... it was removed next day...

These are cheap Chinese knockoffs... with exaggerated price and big coupon...
