Great phones, comfort a question.......2006-03-22
First off, these headphones sound just great. Plenty of bass, nice range, just leagues above the packaged ipod headphones...though, I know that's not saying much. I'm pretty sure these have the inner-workings of the Sennheiser PX 100's, so check out the plethora of reviews over there to get more opinions on the audio quality.
While the sound is wonderful, the comfort factor is another story. Do not, do not, do not buy these headphones if you plan to use them on a plane, in a car, on a bus or anywhere where you'd want to rest your head back against the seat...it won't work. The neckband of these phones sticks out about an inch and half, creating somthing of a halo about your neck. While I'm sure you could tweak and adjust to be able to rest your head back, it wouldn't be comfortable and work quickly get on your nerves.
On the other hand, if you plan to use this set while walking about campus or going for jog, like I do, then you'll be fine. Though, they do look slightly silly...or, maybe just different...when you're wearing them.
There are a bunch of reviews for this item on the Amazon.co.uk site, where they've been for sale for some time now.
Bottom line, if you want something more comfortable...sacrifice the sound quality (and save 20 bucks) and go for the PMX-60's. If you don't plan to try to relax with these on, you'll really enjoy the sound quality.
A Great Headphone -A Couple of Annoyances.......2006-03-17
I just purchased these for use with my IPOD. The sound is great..very clean, natural, with solid bass..the best I have experienced. My only 3 complaints are:
(1) They fit rather tight and are not particularly comfortable for long term use.
(2) If you need to remove them from your ears and want to hang them around your neck, say, while walking, they will place a "choke hold" on you. They are very tight around your neck when not in use.
(3) They do not collapse for storage and thus are difficult to carry in a small bag or in a pocket.
The sound is identical to the PX-100 which collapses and fits more loosely over the ear. As a result, the PMX-100 produces stronger bass, but is definitely not as secure during physical activity.
BTW, I gave it Four Stars, not One as indicated at the top of this review.

MAYBE I GOT LUCKY.......2007-12-01
I bought this set over two years ago . . .maybe I got lucky, but it's been a gem. Great picture at a great price.
BEWARE.......2007-08-20
Do not waste your time or money
My 37" HDTV LCD only worked for two weeks.
If I had done more online research I could have saved a lot of money.
I am out $900.00 ($170.00 to ship it back to Protron for warranty work)
3 months and still no TV and nobody in customer service will give me a straight answer... their standard line is "call back in 3 weeks and we may have a replacement in stock"
Do not buy!
Prosonic
Protron
SpectronIQ (same company, different names)
Product Failure with 5 months, Poor Customer Service.......2007-06-13
I purchased the Protron 32in LCD TV at Sears. After 5 months, the sound on the TV stopped functioning. I tried Sears and they said I could not return it and had to go directly to manufacturer. I contacted manufacturer and obtained a RMA number. I requested that they pay for shipping, but they refused. I shipped TV at my cost $81. They received TV and it has been 2 months of continuous calling into some call center which keeps on telling me the TV will be in next week. I ask for a supervisor and they tell me I am speaking to one. I will never buy an off brand name again. I am trying to figure out who I can contact to put a formal complaint in against the company. This has been the worst company that I have ever dealt with!!! Protron and Spectrum...I hope to get a TV before they go out of business.
HORRIBLE!!! DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY!!DONT BUY THIS TV!!!!.......2007-03-27
I bought this PIECE OF GARBAGE television in February 2007 because it seemed like a good deal. The first one had to be returned because the remote didn't work NOR did the sleep timer and clock on the television. I spent 2 hours on the phone with their customer service trying to get it to work only to have the rep at SpectronIQ/PROTRON say "sorry, I cant help you". I brought it back to the store and got another one. The new one has an ok picture but AGAIN the REMOTE has some buttons that don't work. I called SpectronIQ/PROTRON customer service on February 15, 2007 and Marvin promised to send me a new remote. After waiting 2 weeks I call again and Jack says it will be sent in 5 days. Called back again and was told by Terrance it would be sent in 3 days, call back if I don't receive it and they will overnight it. I call back again and talk to the same guy named Terrance and he now says "we don't overnight anything, wait another 3 days, I guarantee it will be there". I call again and Terrance yet again says "wait 5 more days it should be there by then". Here we are March 26, 2007 and STILL NO REMOTE!!! THEY ARE a bunch of LIARS!!!! The MOST UNPROFESSIONAL MICKEY MOUSE CUSTOMER SERVICE I HAVE EVER DEALT WITH. I finally get thru to a manager today named William (they always tell you that there are no managers to take calls). William says call back in 2 hours and I will have an answer for you. I call back in 2 hours and GUESS WHAT of course he now says "call back in 3 weeks and we should be able to send you one by then. If we don't send one in 3 weeks call us back." When I asked for an address to write a letter they simply say just send it to our P.O. Box with no attention to any department because they are not sure who would get a letter of complaint...This company SpectronIQ was formerly known as Protron Digital Corp and I think they changed their name because they had too many complaints of poor quality. I wonder how long they will go as SpectronIQ before they go out of business! What good is getting a low price on a TV if it doesn't work right and customer service is a joke!!!! Don't waste your time or money on this one.
Customer Reviews:
Nice product but way overpriced.......2007-12-09
We were looking for furniture to hold our 42" LCD HD TV and came across the Salamander Synergy 323 in Best Buy. They had it priced at $999 which seems to be some sort of price fix since, no matter where I look, including Amazon, the price is the same. At that price this furniture is absolutely in the realm of the ridiculous. Adding further insult injury is the fact that you have to actually put this stuff together yourself. At half the price I would probably have given this 4 stars since it seems to be designed well. The rear panels, for example, can easily be removed for access to your video or audio equipment. Some of the materials, especially the perforated steal inserts, seem somewhat cheap. The rest of the materials that make up the stand are just OK.
If you are looking to buy an item like this in this price range I suggest you look at a fine furniture store that discounts.
Good unit bad packing and directions.......2007-03-31
No real complaint about the unit. They should refrain from putting both boxes into one 143 lbs. box as UPS forces driver to deliver without help and my unit, while not damaged, was in a very crushed outer box. If I was not home to help bring it in it might have been a disaster.
Once I started assembly I realized that the instructions for each box assumed different configuration possibilities and were more difficult as a result. The pegs for the shelves were real simple to put in but the illustrations were difficult to follow. Also, when tightening the corner bars they will spin and damage the surface of the bottom shelf.
Once assembled it is a good looking and functional unit.
Great product, terrible shipping.......2007-01-11
This Salamander Designs rack is very well made and looks great. It takes a few hours to assemble, but the result is nicer than most home theater furniture out there. Unfortunately, Amazon's shipping (via UPS) didn't go so well and the outer box arrived in very bad shape. I was hoping that the inner box would protect the item, but, alas, one of the two doors was damaged. I'm now trying to get Amazon to replace the door, but they can only exchange the whole unit. The shipping box is completely destroyed, so I've been forced to contact the manufacturer directly. Crossing my fingers...
