Samsung burns up exhaust fan.......2007-11-21
It's not good when you set up home theater system and you smell burning circuits. That's what happened to my brand new system when I set it up. It was purchased through Amazon but OneCall was the distributor. Since I did not keep the original box, OneCall would not exchange the unit leaving me to contact Samsung for warranty work. Seems to me this is a big reason not to purchase from and online store.
I will eventually service the unit, but ultimately went out and bought a Sony Bravia theater system at my local electronics store that works beautifully. Thanks for nothing Amazon an OneCall!
Great sound with good price.......2007-11-20
I bought this home theater hoping to downsize my old system and still have a great sound. I miss not having Bass, Treble, Mid @ Balance knobs on the receiver. I have to say the sound using a DVD is tremendous! Although, a music CD can't compare with my older system. Overall I am pleased to find out the reason I bought it for (Theater) is awesome.
Great sounding system with many features.......2007-10-14
Starting from the beginning, the product was packaged very well and easy to hook up. The speaker wires are color coded and long enough for placement in any part of the room. Having a 5 disc DVD player is great. Other than playing movies, I use the USB function the most. It reads my memory stick and plays all the music and movies I have stored on it. The only thing I wish for is shuffling of music tracks. Other than that, excellent system for the price.

I just recently purchased the Samsung LNT4065F 40" 1080p LCD HDTV, and got this as a matching home theater. Opted not to get the HT-X72 or HT-X75 tall boy speakers simply for portability. I have the Sony PS3 hooked up to the TV via HDMI, and I have the digital optical out on the TV going into this receiver and the surround sound is great on Blu-ray and PS3 Games.

I just picked this up for around $300, and you can't beat it for the price. It has more features than systems costing twice as much. 5 disk up-converting DVD player. FM tuner. XM ready. HDMI input and output. 6 speakers. Etc.
Just don't expect it to sound like a $2000 system. The audio is very good though.

Awesome for the $.......2007-11-27
I bought this system 4 days ago and had everything plugged in and working in about 30 minutes. I cant believe I paid under 350 and got what I got. The surround sound is very life like and it has tremendous bass. Jurasic park is amazing with my new system. When the T rex comes for the first time its roar is incredible but that is not what i like best. I like listening to the rain in surround sound. It seems like I am standing in the middle of the movie. I have yet to turn the volume over 40 and even 25-27 is very loud with this DVD. My wife starts giving me those looks.
The only reason I didnt give the system 5 stars is because the remote takes some getting used to and the back panel is a little confusing connecting with my direct TV. I dont have HD direct TV. It would work best with HDMI in and HDMI out. My tivo receiver only has compontent and s video output.
Very satisfied with my system.
Defective desgn.......2007-11-27
The wireless rear speakers failed to work without going through the tedious "reset" process every time the unit was off for more than a few minutes. This occured after only a couple of days of use. From researching online, this seems to be a typical problem with this unit.

Steel Speaker Stand by Sanus Well Made.......2007-07-26
I bought this center stand to match the front speaker stands I have in a 5.1 surround sound system. The stands are heavy, well made and look great. The only drawback is that the top portion can twist out of position to the bottom portion. I am a stickler for perfection, so I gaze downward from above and line them up perfectly. Once in position, they stay there. I actually needed the stand to be 10 inches shorter, so I took the two metal "pipes" to a metalworker/welder, and for $15 he cut them, and welded back on the screw in portion. The result is the right height and it is perfect.
These stands are well made with good quality heavy metal and well applied slightly textured powdercoat.
I would buy again and recommend.
