I unpacked the product, installed it, and have been useing it ever since with no problems. I have an Acer Laptop (wireless) and an Apple iMac (Ethernet) on the network in my home, and both perform very well on DSL.

The worst router that I ever use! Super unstable, bad customer service. They are unwilling to repair/exchange/refund their defective product. The tech support only asked me to follow their troubleshoot procedure. However, it wasn't to fix the problem even I followed their procedures for three times! D-Link: I am not purchasing the product for troubleshooting. At the end, I got a new Netgear router. This brand is much better and much stable. Get a Netgear router! It is much cheaper and much better.

I have owned the D-Link DI-624 for about a year now and moved from San Diego to Florida with no problems setting it up to our cable modem in both places. My daughters laptop picks up a strong signal everywhere in our two-story house and my son plays Xbox Live downstairs (with the router connected upstairs) with no trouble at all. Every once in a blue moon (like once a month) something trips it and they lose the connection but we just hit the reset button on the back and it's up and flying again within seconds. I'm a grumpy, easily irriated man and our monthly reset routine doesn't even raise my blood pressure. The wireless internet connection appears to be just as fast as my hardwired connection on our main computer. I'm happy with the performance.

Nice product. It has the basic functions and I already connected 3 wireless devices and it is working fine. No delays at all. The range is fine. I live in a 2 store house and it works on the second floor. When I go downstairs it does work but no more than through 2 walls.

Ok, but..........2007-12-26

This remote does everything it says and was pretty easy to set up. The thing I really don't like is that the buttons are really tiny! I often hit 2 or 3 buttons at once. Also I sometimes have to press a button more than once to get what I want! In hindsight I wish I'd gotten a different one.

I bought the Logitech Harmony 550 for my fiance as a Christmas gift. It was easy to set up, and my husband is very happy with his new remote. We have a complicated system with lots of components and visitors / baby sitters were never able to figure out how to watch TV or movies when we weren't home. Now it's simple, no fooling with different controllers. The software was exceptionally easy to use and very logical in the way it was presented.

Remote Is Great, Problems With Software.......2007-12-26

I recently purchased this remote for my parents as a gift. I knew there was a relatively simple setup process involved, so i decided to configure it for them myself. I installed the software it came with on my BRAND NEW (less than a day old) iMac G5 running OS X Leopard v. 10.5 and breezed through the setup process. It was simple and intuitive (and as far as I knew) really good software. I then tested the remote (with Sony Wega Television, Bose Home Theater System, Motorolla Cable Box, and an Xbox 360) and it worked flawlessly. I was amazed at how simple the entire process was. However this amazement was short lived, because only a couple hours later I noticed some serious problems with my brand new computer. Copy and paste would not work at all, and more annoying than that, I could not drag (nor thusly drop) any items, on my desktop in finder, or in ay programs such as iTunes or Final Cut Express. They were just not responsive to my mouse. At first I didn't associate it at all with the remote (which worked to perfection and was now at the back of my mind with a brand new broken computer on my hands) but after doing a little google research I stumpled across a group of people claiming to have the sam problems as me, with a recurring trend - all had recently installed the Logitech Harmony software.

Frustrartion and Agravation

Perhaps, I thought, the problem would "fix itself" with a restart. Wishful thinking. After several unsuccessful attempts, I finally found someone online who knew what they were talking about, and after a complicated procedure involving my startup cd and disc utility, I was able to correct the problem.

I've only had the remote for a short while now, but it works perfectly, as I expected, and better. I don't know how I ever lived without it. For the remote I give it 5 stars. However the software really was an unwanted headache, even had me believing I'd have to deal with Apple customer service to replace my less than a day old iMac (which I had been waiting paitnetly but eagerly for for several weeks).

I can't speak for anyone running Windows, but for those of you running Mac OS X, be warned; I recomend finding access to a PC and running the software on that, because it is not worth the trouble you will go through on your cherrished Mac.

Of course, this could very well be a freak 1 in a 1000 situation, which in all likelyhood it is, and it should not discourage you from purchasing this remote. Just be smart, and if your computer does start acting all blewy on you, don't panic, because the problem can be fixed.

This remote is excellent. Very intuitive and easy to setup. It was actually easier to setup than I had imagined. The only speed bump I hit was that the software doesn't work on Linux. No Linux support, but it does support MAC OS Leporard, and of course Windows 2000, XP, and Vista (did not see 98 as supported). Although I have not tweeked it fully yet, it appears that when you press "Watch DVD" and the DVD player is already on it will turn it off. It doesn't turn off the TV and receiver though, just the DVD and VCR if these devices are already on and you select to use them. See, sometimes a person might pop in a VCR or a DVD while still watching TV. And that works fine, but by pop in the media it turns on the device. Now when you are ready to watch the VCR or DVD you press "Watch VCR or DVD" it will turn off that device that is already on. I wish the remote would recognize that the device is already on and move on to its next task. Again, there may be a way to tweek it...I'm not sure yet. One easy solution is to turn the unit off after inserting the media. But aside from that it is awesome. BIG PLUS TO NOTE: The infrared works awesome. One concern I did have is that if you don't aim it appropriately at all (for example) 3 devices it'll turn on only some of the devices. Not the case here. You can point this remote at the ceiling and it'll work like a charm. That is a huge plus. Infact even changing volume or channel or any button on the remote does not need to be hit twice. Very very very good infrared. Very good quality feel as well. A little small on the buttons, but very managable. My parents are very technically challenged and needed this remote to be able to play there devices AND on surround sound. They are so bad that my dad has old VCR tapes he likes to watch, but hasn't watched them for some time because of not having a tuner in the VCR and hooking it up via TV input. He just can't learn how to work the TV input functions. Very technically challenged. He can now watch his tapes or dvd and not know how to change any inputs. Of course they had no clue how to work their surround sound with TV, VCR, or DVD, or at all for that matter. Now it all works seemlessly as one device. It's quite amazing.

controls my HDTV, JVC DV/receiver combo, and cable box. Overall pretty good with initial setup thru the internet, not perfect but now don't have to use the other remotes.
