Device did not support the mouse scroll wheel on any of 4 mice on hand. I contacted the manufacturer who stated that it does support the mouse wheel function. They replaced it with a new unit at no cost (very good service). It did not work either. They claim it only supports basic mouse functions. A two button Microsoft IntelliMouse is a basic mouse at this point. They stated that since the new unit works the same the device is performing properly. I would have to try another mouse (not so good support). What a joke. I returned it and purchased a D-Link KVM-121, which works great and includes switched audio. The D-Link unit demonstrated that the Startech unit really is a piece of junk. I got to pay shipping both ways (and maybe restocking fees too) to find that out. Lucky me. Its hard to blame the seller. It is not their product, but the unit does not work within reasonable expectations.

Design
The 6315i features a super-sleek clamshell design with 21.5 MB of internal memory and a large 176 x 220 color display with support for a whopping 262,000 colors--plenty of room for V Cast content. A generous, full-color 96 x 96 full-color supplementary screen on the outside of the cover displays incoming call information, battery life, signal strength, graphics, photos, and more. Music playback control keys are also located on the front cover. Most of the phone's features and on-screen menus are controlled by a five-way center button on the handset's backlit control pad. The 6315i also features a MicroSD slot for expandable memory, and Bluetooth support for handsfree devices. Meanwhile, up/down keys are located on the side of the unit, while the 1.3-megapixel camera unit is housed on the rear of the device. Lastly, the 6315i features a standard jack to accept universal hands-free headsets, and USB data connectivity is built right into the phone.
Calling Features
The 6315i boasts powerful calling functions. The included voice dialing feature makes it easy to call contacts by simply saying their names. No prior voice training is required. And because the 6315i is Bluetooth enabled, wireless headsets can be configured with the phone for total handsfree operation.
The 6315i's internal memory can hold up to 500 contacts for quick access to email addresses and phone numbers. The phone lets you easily assign pictures as well as ringtones to your most common callers. In addition to vibrating alerts, the phone supports polyphonic ringtones, and a number of ringtones come preloaded on the phone, while more ringtones can be downloaded from Verizon's Get It Now service. Verizon's optional Mobile Web 2.0 package allows you to read and send emails, exchange instant messages, and view your favorite Web content on your phone. T9 text entry, which is a technology that makes it easier for people to enter words and text on handsets, is built into the unit--a plus for mobile email and text messaging users.

The 6315i is fully compatible with Verizon's VZ Navigator service, a feature that provides all the bells and whistles of an advanced navigation system on your mobile phone at a fraction of the price of other GPS devices and systems. The VZ Navigator service provides heads-up, voice-prompted turn-by-turn directions (with auto-rerouting if you miss a turn), local search of nearly fourteen million points of interest (POIs) in the United States, and detailed color maps that can be quickly panned and zoomed. With VZ Navigator, you'll know where you are, know what's around you, and know how to get there fast (additional Verizon charges apply).
A number of handy software tools are bundled with the 6315i including a voice memo recorder, a calculator, a calendar, and an alarm clock. And if needed, the 6315i can act as a modem connection for fast email downloads or Web browsing from you PC.
Imaging and Entertainment
The 6315i's 1.3-megapixel camera features a flash, digital zoom, a self-timer, night-mode functions, and brightness and white balance controls. The camera also offers video capture capabilities.
Verizon's music service is another EV-DO-powered service that makes the 6315i all the more desirable. With V Cast music, your phone is a music player, letting you jam out wherever you are. It's also a music store, and you can download songs instantly to your phone. Save your songs to a memory card with a capacity that's right for you. The 6315i supports cards up to 2 GB of memory, and the music player lets you keep your music playing in the background.

Good for a phone, but not much else..........2007-07-30
I got this phone a few months ago and am very pleased with it's performance. Overall it is a simple slick phone with a strong battery life. My first full charge lasted for over 10 days. It is good for making calls, and it takes pretty clear pictures for a phone, but the videos don't come out to great. When you get into the music mp3 features and other thigns, it just isn't to great for that. The sound quality isn't very good, and I wouldn't buy this phone if thats what your looking for.. Another annoying feature is that the speaker phone only works when the phone is open, and if you close it, the call iis ended. Other than that, if your looking for a phone jsut to be a phone, I would definatly recomend this one.

I went with Nokia because my old Nokia lasted long and took quite the beating. I will say, when I first got it I was expecting the standard ringtones, menus, etc...to be more elaborate than my old brick of a phone, but they seemed simpler. I think Verizon wants you to get "cooler" items via their service and pay for them. I also wish the speaker phone worked when you closed the phone, but instead it hangs up the call. OTHER THAN THAT...I like the phone. it is a simple phone, but at the same has the capability to act as an MP3 player and store photos and videos with its own memory card. I would recommend the special made case available from Verizon or Nokia that fits perfectly and hels protect the phone. As of now, I have had it for 7 months and have had no problems and I hope it lasts as long as my old Nokia.
Wife Loves It.......2007-03-13
We absolutely love this phone. My wife was in search for a new phone, but we didn't want to spend a whole bunch of money, and she loved the old Nokia's. This is great for someone who doesn't need a lot of bells and whistles. This is pretty much a straight phone, but it is incredibly light and thin. Much more then I first thought, almost as thin as a RAZR. So if you are just looking for a reliable phone to make phone calls with, but like a thin light phone, this might be the phone for you.
