Didn't live up to my expectations.......2007-05-06
Ultimately, I returned this product. It was horribly slow, and it kept crashing on me. I haven't had problems with any of my other Bluetooth devices. Maybe Bluetooth printing technology just isn't there yet, though.
Great solution for printing across the room or outside........2007-04-28
This product works great. The book said it does not work with all in one printers but I have had no problems. I guess it wont work with the scan and fax functions. It prints just as fast as when corded. I even print from my patio with my laptop.
HI ON PCS.......2007-02-02
This product was just what I needed. It gets the job done, slow but it gets done. My only complaint is that I can't figure out how to inbed the passkey, everytime I print a popup message asking for password comes up, it gets on my nervous after awhile.
I'm sure I'll figure it out just before I get a bluetooth ready printer.
Other than that, I would highly recommend this product..
Nice, but a little bit slow.......2007-01-10
That is a nice product. I used some days, but works slowly from the Desktop and from my Pocket PC. But anyway is a good solution to print from my Pocket PC from everywhere in my house.
F8T031 does the job.......2007-01-10
This unit does a good job, but is not perfect. It was difficult to set up. After a few attempts and with a bit of knowledgeable assistance, it worked. It continues to do so. The range is acceptable, but perhaps a bit shorter than the advertised 33 feet. That's not been a problem, since my alternative locations are probably a bit outside the 33 foot maximum anyway. I use it in an area where I simply couldn't run a printe cable. So ... it works for me and I'd buy it again.

Just a great cell phone.......2007-12-21
I've owned the W385 for two weeks, and it really is a great cell. Battery life is as good as can be expected. On one charge, I got 1 hour of talk time, 6 days of standby on the first charge. Also in this first week I was constantly playing with the phone so the back light was on quite a bit which would effect the battery. Bluetooth is great. I use a Voyager 510. Also Bluetooth was on the full week. This feature uses a great amount of battery also. I also was in a area where the phone got no service for 2 hours...a battery killer in some phones. Reception is excellent. The phone works in areas where my VX8300 would not. Call quality is excellent both sending and receiving. Speaker phone works and can be left on if desired. It's not a good camera (only VGA), but it is a great cell phone.
Love the W385.......2007-12-19
I've had this phone for 2 months now and am still very satisfied and happy that I purchased this. The features are excellent. I use the bluetooth headset which works perfectly with this. I love that it has a variety of phone rings and wallpaper that I can use without purchasing through Get It Now. You can move through the features with ease. Very happy customer!
I LOVE this phone!.......2007-11-16
I've had this phone for about a month, & I can't say enough good things about it. If there was a higher star rating than 5 for it, I'd vote on it. I'm glad to see so many who agree with me. My son-in-law was looking for a new phone & I told him to get one of these & he did. He also likes it. We live in an area where the reception isn't the greatest, but this phone is light years away from the Samsung I had. It has a solid sound to it, & the signal indicator is twice what I had with my old phone. I have not dropped a call on it yet. I ordered a belt clip for it, & I like the fact that this phone is slimmer than what I had & it doesn't get caught between me & the steering wheel when I get in & out of the car. I'm short & have to slide the seat close up & I was always getting hung up with the Samsung. It's also slim enough that I can just slip it in my jeans pocket if I want to. The other reviews are right. The battery lasts forever. It takes days & days for it to get down to the last bar that I can recharge it. This phone is tops. Motorola did a great job on it & I would recommend it to anyone.
I can't imagine a Better "Phone".......2007-10-22
I need to preface this review by saying I'm the kind of consumer this phone was made for. My wife and I together have never used 500 minutes of call time in a month, neither of us have Ever sent a text message, and the only time I've used the camera was right when first receiving the phone and playing around. I use only the Phone part, and that's not likely to change.
I used my NE2 to upgrade from a Motorola V265 that'd served me well for 2 years. My only complaint with that phone was the stubby antenna, which I broke a handful time times while the phone was in my pocket. Beyond that, it did what it was supposed to do and I was generally happy.
My only reason for the upgrade was because the new phone was "free" (okay, so a 2-year contract... Verizon is the only reliable carrier in Wyoming that also has coverage through the rest of the US, so I'm not likely to change anytime soon), and my old battery needed a charge daily to make it through the following day.
Immediate impressions of the W385 were that's it's small, has a nice feel to it (both the rubberized outside and the buttons), some weight and a nice appearance. As compared to the LG3850 and G'Zone, it felt Substantially more well built than the LG. The LG felt like it would break at any second, just holding it in my hand... it only got a look due to the CNET rating (I don't feel it's a better phone, obviously). The G'Zone felt as good as the W385 in build quality, but it's a brick. I didn't think I'd mind a larger phone, but this one felt like I had the Oxford Dictionary in my pocket. I also didn't like the feel of the phone in my hand, or next to my ear. The final blow for that phone was the charging, I have a LOT of devices that use a mini USB connection for charging/transferring and in the interest of having just 1 cable for everything the W385 won out.
I've only had the phone for about a week now, but I'm still on my first full charge. This was with about 2 hours spent in an area where there is NO cell coverage. This used to kill my old phone, so either the battery is improved or the firmware improved to not drain the battery as fast when in that situation. Initially, I was going to comment that the phone got worse signal reception because it only shows 3~4 bars where my old phone showed 5, but I found that the W385 picked up the signal sooner and held onto it in holes where I previously lost signal when coming out of the cell-free area. So it seems to have slightly Better reception than the V265, but it doesn't show it by the signal strength meter.
The complaints about the inside screen size is a non-issue to me, as when you enter numbers to dial, they are nice and large which relates to VERY easy to see. Maybe if you text or try to use the camera it's an issue. The outside screen does make you work to see the name/number of who's calling due to its size, and that's the one thing my old V265 did better. This is an area that Could be improved with firmware if Verizon decided though (use the whole screen area by removing the signal and battery meters on the top half of the screen when there's an incoming call).
My wife uses an XV6700 "smart" phone, and I'm finding that she's picking up my phone for short calls now and has mentioned the possibility of selling that to get a W385. I find more and more that multi-tasking items do everything poorly, and have been doing my best to buy the most task specific item possible. The W385 seems to be the most task specific Phone out there on the Verizon network.
It may be possible to buy a better Verizon phone, but it's likely easier to buy a much worse phone too. If phone is what you're after, this one deserves a good inspection.
Pretty nice but I'm not that impressed..........2007-10-19
I just upgraded to this phone about a month ago, from an old LG, and while I can say it's nice to have a few newer features I can't say I'm very impressed. I work at a Verizon Wireless office so I'm asked semi-often if I like this phone and really all I've had to say so far is, "it's okay." That's it, okay. It has a camera, USB, is Bluetooth capable, an outer LCD display, and is able to download ringtones, games, pictures, and so on but essentially it's an older clamshell phone in a new case. So if you're looking for a new phone to upgrade to, I'd say this one isn't bad, but is in no way the best.
