This picture is not the one that is being sold .The one that is being sold is a discontinued item with no online support. This item is a discontinued item.
Really bad product........2006-03-29
Hi,
The router function works as expected.
Unfortunately I Paid for the printserver too.
It does not work with my Epson Stylus cx4100,D-Link could
at least put a list of actual supported printers in its web site.
Altough its such an old product it is still sold in Brazil.
Good but ????.......2005-11-19
I can't give 5 stars for this product. I use it as my main router. It works but sometimes it crashes and I have to go through some pains to recover it. When I tried to upgrade it through the dlink website it is another problem. So I am still running it like the way it came. Concerning the built-in print server it worked one time since then I never got that working again. I don't recommend it. It is not a stable product.
Good for Print Server - Not tested the router.......2005-04-23
As nowadays everything is becoming a router I have not yet had the oportunity to test the router of the DI 704UP. I own three of these with different printers (HP 1200 laserjet and Samsung 1210, 1430 and 1450), Finally I found something that is not stated in any documentation of these products. As Linksys Printserver PSU S4 you will have the same inconvenients with D Link: Try not to turn them off. If you do, try to turn back on in a given order, first the print server and then the printer, so you will see the status led of the USB port turn green.
Besides that the print server has worked very well.
I have used the web interface and it appears to have the same functionality as my Linksys Router but you never know.
I bought it for the price and do not regret it as I don't have to have the computers on for a remote user to use the printer.
If it weren't because of the coming back on line problem I would give it a 5 star... for the print server.
Defective products from Amazon.......2005-02-25
I've ordered this router from Amazon; it came defective.
Then a replacement router (same model 704up) - also defective.
D-link tech support was surprised that their new routers were not functioning at all.

so far, so good.......2007-12-27
Bought this for someone who lives on their cordless phone and either squashes it between neck and shoulder or works one handed while she talks.
She's low-tech so this looked like the ticket.
So far it has been great. It's comfortable, clear, easy, and today she wore it out to get the mail (60ft?) and it didn't drop. So no complaints here - it was plug & play and it works as advertised. A bit pricey but since it is performing so well it looks like money well spent. I'd give it 5 stars but it's only been a few days out of the box - let's see how durable it is....
BlueParrot B100 Wireless Headset.......2007-12-16
After using several other brands of headset with my land line telephone, and being somewhat disappointed with the results, I decided to try the VXI BlueParrott B100 Wireless Headset System for Corded/Cordless Phones and Bluetooth Cell Phones. It isn't cheap, but it is GOOD. Since I wear hearing aids, I needed an "over the head" type headset rather than something that fits "in the ear". If you have been looking for a Bluetooth headset that fits this requirement, I am sure you have found it difficult to find. The B100 works with both the land-line and cellular phones (Bluetooth equipped) using a base unit that is connected to the standard telephone line and the 115V AC socket. The base acts as a battery charger for the rechargeable battery in the headset.
Audio quality is supperb. Volume more than adequate, and the controls are easy to use. The microphone is noise canceling and it works. Very comfortable to wear and it fits on either ear. Once matched with your cell phone, it switches easily between cell and land-line use. Although Bluetooth is rated for 33 foot range, I have been twice that far from the base unit and maintained contact. Talk time: up to 6 hours without recharging and up to 100 hours on stand-by. Using NiMH batteries, it can be charged anytime without encountering the "memory effect" that shortens the capacity of some rechargeable batteries. A well engineered product using materials that appear that they will last over time.
One caveat. Do charge the headset of a new unit overnight (as the instructions indicate). When brand new, the charge indicator light gives a false indication of full-charge after a few minutes. It seems to work properly after that initial charge.
I wish I had found this unit years ago.

Don't know how I lived without it.......2007-10-16
I really don't know what I did before I had this product. Here's what you need to know:
1. It's very comfortable. I walk around my house all day with it on, and forget it's there till it rings. I can even bend over, pick stuff up, etc., and it stays in place, but is totally comfortable.
2. It works great within about 60 feet of the base. Beyond that, it gets a bit scratchy, and past 75 feet or so, it isn't really usable. But that gives me a pretty long tether.
3. The sound that comes through to me, and the sound to those I'm talking to is as clear as an old wired handset. In short, perfectly clear.
4. I've had it for 2 1/2 years now and since the day I set it up (quickly and easily), have not had any problems with it. I just wish I could dial out from it. That requires a return to the base phone.
Highly recommended for anyone who needs to move around while on the phone for long periods!
Use it with a cell phone.......2007-09-08
The B100 was purchased for use at home, where it gave disappointing results -- I should say ONLY after it was revealed that the base unit was defective - right out of the box.
However, customer service was unusually folksy. Blueparrott acts like a small company which has not yet learned to outsource its telespecialists to the outskirts of Mumbai. I think I spoke to an actual New Englander who told me - yes - it did appear that my base unit wasn't working. His sad advice was for me to return my device to the store. Amazingly, I complied without further struggle, got a new unit (which did work) and began experimenting with my new BT100 headset. Truthfully, I could tell, nearly at once, that this was no solution for a home phone setup. Bluetooth 1.2, inside, is crackly, gamey, unpredictable, and will fall apart in the presence of a strong WiFi signal or an active microwave oven.
As an afterthought, I decided to pair this ungainly headset to my Palm Treo 700w. That, I must say, was a relationship destined for better things.
I had decided to bring the headset with me to work yesterday, as recent attempts to communicate with friends, family, and associates, while out on the street (or even in a noisy Starbuck's) proved nearly futile. The Treo seems to feature almost NO noise reduction, and no cupping of the hands, no burrowing into a corner of the room, can save this.
But yesterday evening, in the midst of rush-hour traffic, with groups of laborers screaming their drunken songs on the sidewalks, radios with subwoofers blasting nearby, I paired my Blueparrott to my Treo and experienced the incredible sensation of being able to carry on a conversation with someone at my office, right there on the breezy sidewalk. There was no sense on her end that I was in a noisy environment, and I heard her as if the headset were wired to the phone. It was confirmation that the professional noise reduction on this device is real and very effective.
I even saved a long out-going message on corporate voice mail and listened to the quality at home. The sound of merry-revelers, screaming only a few feet away, was not evident -- only my clear speaking voice. I was most impressed.
And - the headset is comfortable. The gooseneck mic boom is great for precise adjustment.
All in all, this is a fine solution for people who simply need to communicate on the open road. I'd get the travel charger. The base unit and home use? Don't bother. Get a Plantronics 900mHz solution instead.
Great Clarity for Both Parties.......2007-09-07
This headset provides terrific clarity on both of the parties on the call; people can't even tell that I am using a headset (as long as the mike is positioned correctly, which is easy to do). I'm very satisfied
