I bought this player with high hopes as I know Emerson to be a good brand. And at over twenty bucks I did not consider it cheap. At first all was fine then after about a month I noticed a background noise everytime it played. Wa-Wa-Wa-Wa. Then the chirping noise it makes to alert you of low batteries was constant even with fresh batteries. The last straw was when I changed the batteries and low the battery door would not snap shut no matter how hard I tried. This is something I expect in a player a couple years old not 1 month. And this player did not see heavy use before all this happened. I will admit I could have simply gotten a real lemon But I will avoide this brand in the future just the same.

never worked for me, didnt even turn on, i tried to reset the system and it was useless, dont get this item

I bought this because I wanted an inexpensive system to mount on the wall in my newborn's room. After about a month, both the CD and the radio stopped working within days of each other. All I get on the CD function is "Err", and the radio comes in at full volume no matter where you set the volume level, and garbled like an old tube radio with shot capacitors. I hope this is a fluke, because I am an avid collector of vintage Emerson tube radios and would hate to get a bad taste for the name. But the dual failure is too much to overlook -- it would be wise to avoid this item.

My iBook died, and I desperately needed a way to get all of my data off of it since I'm not very good at backing up my data. This FireWire cable allowed me to transfer the data to one of my other Macs in order to save it. I went to the store and found that many FireWire cables were around $30, but this one was half of that. I, of course would have spent that much in order to save my data, but it was nice not having to.
Then I had to use it again when my other Mac died and then I backed up my data TO the iBook. Funny.
