the best thing that ever happen to you!!!!!.......2005-12-24
I was the geekiest person, but then I bought Rio one 64mb mp3 player. It hold songs and dose everything you imagine it to do.everyone was like oooh he has a mp3 player you are now officially the coollest kid in school even though i had to save for 2 year i finally have one fron all that babysitting i official call myself "ryanthecoolkid" this thing can change your life
Good Mp3 Player If You Know What You Are Doing!.......2005-06-02
9 hours to install this? I don't think so! It took me a while but not even close to 9 hours...maybe an hour at most! I even think you can get away with NOT installed RealOne Player! Just make sure you download the firmware version on Sonic Blue's web site according to your part number. You should be up and running in no time!
Now for the bad and good points:
Bad:
- The software that comes with this are so obsolete you might as well throw it out.
- Can't tell which song is playing from the file
- Sketchy "Getting Started Guide"
- Slow transfer rates by default
Good:
- This IS somewhat upgradeable up to 128 megabytes
- You can fit up about 18 or so mp3 songs in 112k
- Great if you want something that has hit songs you don't care about which one that plays.
- Has random and repeat modes not common on more sophisicated player
- Display does show the bitrate at least
- Has a belt clip so you can jog with it on your hip.
If you are waiting at the airport, in the backseat of your car on a long trip, or jogging, this is a really good mp3 player to consider.
The PMP 300 is back!.......2004-09-30
Wow, I have this mp3 player...the problem is: I bought it 1999, and it was then called the Rio PMP 300.
This version, the Rio One, is basically an upgrade in memory of a five year old player. Same media, same case, different colors. I have a lot of problems with mine, but mostly flakey, annoying problems. It works...sometimes.
So, be forewarned: this is a first-generation mp3 player. It is the digital audio equivalent of the dodo. Nice and meaty, but don't expect it to last.
Run, don't walk away from this product.......2004-07-28
Mine just stopped working after about 1 month. I returned it, and got another one that stopped working after about 3 months. The batteries lasted almost as long as the player. I now have a Nomad Muvo (64mb), which I've had for about 2 years, and love. I highly recommend the Muvo for someone looking for a small, reliable, mp3 player. It's actually less expensive than this Rio junk.
dont be stupid, dont buy this.......2004-07-14
bad would be a good word for this product. I am writing this in the first day that I have this product. It sucks really bad. It sais that it costs $100 regularly.Ha ha ha, I wouldn't pay 50 cents for it, let alone $30.

Amazon.com Product Description
This sleek, self-setting atomic clock radio offers a blend of style, features, and performance that will perfectly accent any home or office. The clock automatically adjusts itself to radio signals received from the U.S. atomic clock in Boulder, Colorado, so you're always ensured accurate and reliable time. It even makes adjustments for Daylight Savings time.
A easy-to-read LCD shows time, date, and day of the week, as well as sleep times, wake times, and--of course--nap times. The RCR-1 also boasts an inset, German-made analog clock for easier reading, which synchronizes itself with the LCD's displayed time.
Living with someone else who needs an alarm? You can set and use the RCR-1's two alarms completely independently, with selectable days and the option to wake to a radio or buzzer. The alarm volume starts softly then gradually increases. The radio's ATS system locates stations and automatically establishes memory presets.
What's in the Box
Alarm clock radio and a user's manual.

Horrible User Interface.......2007-08-16
This is the most horrid clock radio ever. The user interface is terrible, and the physical unit is huge. The time receiver antenna is a monster and highly ugly. I couldn't figure out how to set the alarm or change the radio station. This truly has the most horrid manual and the buttons were clearly not designed with the user in mind.
This item got sent back and a $15 Emerson clock radio is vastly superior. The company clearly does not elicit feedback from real humans during the design process. I can't imagine anyone actually using this device outside of their engineering labs.
not completely reliable.......2007-05-30
My husband bought me this clock radio as a gift. Not long after using it, the blue backlight stopped working. We fiddled with the brightness controls, but nothing helped. It just stopped. I resigned myself to not being able to see the time in the middle of the night. Then recently, the time itself stopped working correctly. The analog time and the digital time showed two different times, neither correct! The digital clock began running way behind time (not good if you want an alarm to go off on time). I was just about to junk it and order a new clock radio when I went in to take a look at it one more time, and both clocks are now reset to the correct time and seem to be functioning... after more than a week of not working right! Go figure. If you buy this, check it frequently to make sure it is still functioning correctly. Maybe I just got a lemon.
Great idea; badly executed.......2007-05-27
I love the features of this unit, what with the auto-setting feature and the analog clock face and all the different alarm settings and so on. I even like the "Humane Waking System."
But after only a few days, the pretty blue light you see in the pictures went out and wouldn't come back on, so that in the dark we had to shine a light at the clock to see what time it was. That was aggravating but not fatal.
However, recently the self-setting feature has gone haywire as well. The clock still sets itself, but it always sets itself between 78 and 79 minutes fast. There's no way you can set the time manually and turn off the auto-set, so we completely ignore the time on the clock face now and set our alarms for an hour and 18 minutes before when they're supposed to go off...and we have another old clock radio right next to this one that actually keeps time (although we have to set it manually) and whose digits we can see.
We've had ours for a little over a year.
A neat little gadget.......2007-03-11
I live in Eastern Maine...quite far from the Fort Collins site for the time updates but have no problem with obtaining the signals...early this morning the clock did switch over to DST. For a small radio the sound is good. I especially like the night light display control. You can adjust the time display perfectly...bright enough to see at night but not bright enough to interfere with your sleep. Programming it was quite simple and the multiple station buttons are a great feature...the station I want to hear at night is not the same as the station I want to wake up to...this radio makes it easy.
With respect to reading the digital time...the only time I want to read it is when I am in bed...if you are close enough to turn it off you should be able to read the time. The analog clock is a nice touch though. All in all I have no complaints. Its a great product.
All around good atomic clock radio.......2007-02-11
I recently purchased the Sangean RCR-1 and find it has many unique features for a clock radio. The main reason I bought it was for the automatic time updates from Fort Collins, Colorado which makes it very accurate and also automatically changes time for daylight savings. I originally bought the Sangean RCR-2 which is similar but had to return it because the display was too bright and it did not have a dimmer switch which the RCR-1 model does. The radio is an advanced clock radio as far as clock radios go. When the alarm goes off the display changes color from blue to amber and the alarm or radio increases gradually in volume. You can also pick the days of the week for each of the two alarms to sound. I found positioning the radio to receive the time signals from Fort Collins rather touchy. I had to move it just a few inches on my night stand in order to get the signals regularly.
I agree with the other reviewers regarding the display. The LCD display is hard to see unless viewed on directly. Fortunately the RCR-1 model has an analog clock that is much easier to see. My vision without my glasses is not that good but I am able to see what time it is from the analog clock in the middle of the night if I wake up.
The radio portion of the unit is better then most clock radios. It has a tone control and stronger amplifier and larger speaker then most clock radios which retail for $20 - $30. It also has a digital tuner with 7 presets for each of the AM & FM bands.
There are digital clock radios which retail for about $30 which have the time and date preset at the factory. They will automatically adjust the time for daylight savings because they have been programmed by the factory to do so. However in 2007 the date for daylight savings has changed so some currently in stock may have not been programmed for this change. Since they do not receive the time signal from Fort Collins you may have to adjust the time on occasion but they are a lot cheaper then either the Sangean RCR-1 or RCR-2. Examples are the Timex Auto Set Clock Radios T307S or T309T models.

Customer Reviews:
Works!.......2007-12-26
This little remote is amazing. Within about 10 seconds on average, we got it to sync with just about all the tv's we could find. I would say 1 out of 20 doesn't work well with this one.
Off topic: It's hilarious watching people's reaction when you turn the volume up all the way in a Wal-Mart or restaurant.
Its only real limitation is that you need to be about 10 to 15 feet at most to be able to use it.
Love the item, makes a great gift to anyone.
Great product!
I liked it.......2007-10-28
Product works really well.
It works on most TV's you'll find in bars. I only came across 1 tv that it didn't work on.
It's really easy to use, just press and hold a button until the TV mutes and walla. I really recommend this item.
Great.......2007-08-09
Great for pranks. I've had so much fun with this. The remote has worked on 19/21 tvs, it's so much fun. Average shipping time.
Not worth the trouble.......2007-07-31
Product doesn't work as advertised. We have 5 different TVs in our house. I was only able to mute 1 TV and was unable to change the channel on any of them. The controls have to be pressed so hard it feels like the remote control is bending and might break. The shipping charges were almost as much as the cost of the unit - not even worth the effort of returning it for a refund.
Awsome.......2007-07-18
The remote actually works. There is a 3 minute learning curve but thats really it. You can walk into a resturaunt and change the channle on all of the T.V.s to SpongeBob if you like (I've done it). This thing is so easy, a 4-year-old can do it (I acually saw it happen). You can convince your friends and family members that theres a ghost in there house for all i care, just have fun with it!
