Keyboard.......2007-12-25
I wanted a portable keyboard (because I don't like to use other people's input devices, and I already use a portable mouse) for school and public access computers.
I saw this and decided to try it out, the reviews are mostly true. The keys do "tilt" so you have to press straight down, but they are not hard to press (to me anyway). It is very flexible, I was surprised.
I use Linux and it worked as soon as I plugged it in (no restarts or delays). It comes with USB and a PS/2 connector, so you can use any port.
The good points:
* It works
* It is flexible (physically)
* It is flexible (hardware wise, two connectors available)
* It is really light
Caveats:
* It is a flexible keyboard, so I imagine it is easy to break, take care of it
* It may be difficult to type on, if you are not and the backspace is small, so it is easy to miss when you start using it
* Windows probably will have driver issues with it and give you a pain in the neck. So use Linux (sorry, had to through that in)
I recommend it.

I bought this keyboard recently to use with my laptop. Typing takes a little getting used to, and can be frustrating at first, but overall nothing you wouldn't expect from a rubber keyboard that you can roll up...except:
1) The shift keys were very poorly designed, at least with respect to my typing style. Looking on the back you can clearly three contact points. There is however, a gap exactly where my pinky hits the shift key _every_ time. Getting the shift key to work while typing in my normal cadence was impossible until I taped down some cardboard that forces the entire key down when I hit it. Of course, the keyboard material makes the tape very non-sticky, so this is only a so-so solution.
2) The backspace key is a small square, the same size as the letters, and the | or \ key is the same size as a letter as well, to the left of the backspace key, both above the enter key. This is personal preference obviously, but I cannot stand the smaller backspace/pipe key combination - I work best when the | or \ key is above the enter key and both the delete and | (pipe) key are two letter key lengths.
I'm a hardcore UNIX geek so I have a very frequent need to type special characters, especially the pipe ( | ). Other users may not find these features so frustrating, but for me, it's enough that I'm getting rid of this product.
Also, the space bar has two keys, between the space and the alt key at the bottom that are non-functional. I'm not really sure why. It'd be nice if these could be remapped by the user to do something instead of nothing.

This flexible keyboard is the third one I have purchased. The other two I bought localy and had to return.
All Flexible Keyboards are NOT created equal! There's at least three different basic types I've seen ... the cheaper ones just do not measure up ... and even two very similar looking keyboards can operate differently. Price is a factor as well ... but not the sole measure ... I paid more localy for a popular name brand flexible keyboard that just did not work NEAR as well as this one.
I'm typing this review on the keyboard now ... It is discovered and installs with plug-and-play seamlessly and you can plug it in even if your other keyboard is plugged in as well (but I assume that's true of all USB keyboards.)
It works great I have not experinanced any problems and I find the keys operate perfectly even if struck off centre.
The keyboard is EXACTLY the same size as a standard keyboard, with a full number keypad wich I use all the time but has a little more space between letters, (the keys themselves are slightly smaller) this has not casued any trouble for me, but it's woth noting. I would think the extra space between the keys is needed to make it possible to roll it up for storage.
The keyboard has 5 extra keys my regular keyboard does not have 'WAKEUP' 'SPLEEP' and 'POWER' that operate the computers power fuctions directly if you have them enabled ... and two keys that don't do anything, one on each side of the space bar, they could have been wired up as space bar keys I guess ... but perhaps they are for futre development? At any rate they don't seem to get in the way and the space bar keys are both wide enough it's no problem besides and occasional missed space while gettig used to it.
On that note it does NOT take long to get used to this keyboard it's pretty much the same as a regular desk top keyboard to me.
On the negative side? The smaller keys and extra two blank keys could casue very fast touch typists to make more errors? But it's SOOOO much better than the tiny keyboard on todays small notebook comuters it's worth getting used to.
I don't like the brightness of the "Num lock" LED light ... it's very bright and I find it distracting so I put some tape over it ... aperently there is a softwear hack in Windows XP to disable the idicator light so I may look into that.
The COLOUR is white/translucent ... I do not remember a colour option and just assued it was going to be grey/brown??? but it's no big deal for me. If it is to you ask about the colour.
That's it over all I am VERY pleased with the keyboard! If you are looking at different flexibles this one is the one for you regardless of the price ... they are NOT all created equal!
Not like real thing, but not bad.......2007-11-02
(written whle using the product) When depressed, the keys can dropat 30degree angles so tht it does not recognize the strike. Yo really have to strike the key stright downward with 2x more force thn a regular keyboard. if you type with two fingers, its not too bad. but my smaller fingers (esp pinky) have a hard time with the force requirement and straight angle. I'vebeen using this keyboard exclusively for 1 week now and I stillcannt get it to work 100%. i use it for the super minilaptop while traveling, so the question fo me is does it feelbetter than a cramped keyboard ad the hassle of carrying this thing around?? Jury is still out...
Flexible, spil resistant, slightly stiff to type.......2007-10-01
I bought this keyboard because of it's low profile. It is great, very flexible, completely spill proof. But it's a little stiff when typing. You have to push the keys a full stroke. I will still recomend it, just be aware that is not as soft as typing in a laptop's keyboard
