I'd used a lot of cordless phones in the last twenty years. None had the clarity of corded phones. All had distortion that could make some voices unpleasant. With the KX-TG60 series, words are so clear and voices so natural that conversation is a pleasure.
It's great in other ways. The ring can be changed so I can hear it in other rooms over other noises. The answering machine plays back clearly. Power failures don't require me to reset the clock. It can be used as a pocket speakerphone. The charger works quickly and shuts off, which should extend battery life. It has the features I've always wanted and more.
A nice milestone in Cordless Phones.......2007-11-19
The Panasonic KX-TG6051M 5.8GHz I've been using this phone now about two months and I must say that I'm very pleased. One nice feature is that there is no more tape to record messages. That feature is what ruined my old unit. The digital unit works much better. Also you can access messages with the handset as well as the base unit. A very nice feature if your not in the general vicinity of the base unit. Also plenty of storage for phone numbers and many other features. I think you'll like this one!
Panasonic Answer Machine.......2007-11-17
Because of the impossibility of muting the ringer on the base, I was unable to use this phone/answerer in my psychotherapy office. It's an okay machine otherwise, but the absence of this feature (even in more expensive Panasonic answerers) limits its utility.

Easy to set up. Only had this product a few weeks but no problems so far. Can't hear the recording through the speaker so makes screening calls more difficult but haven't taken time to read manual to see if this is a programmable feature. Even so, the default setting should not have the recording silent.

Panasonic definitely makes good phone, my last Panasonic lasted me 10 years of constant abuse (dropping on marble floors), after my current Uniden (lasted less than a year) started having all sorts of problems I decided to go back to Panasonic again, I've been using this phone for a while and I find it a really nice phone laden with bunch of useful features:
+ No static or any kind of interference with WiFi, clear and crisp voice every-time.
+ Hand set is small (it looks larger in amazon pictures)
+ Talking caller ID and selectable ring tones (7 provided) are really nice features, caller ID will pick the name of the caller from your phone book if you have already saved it, if that is not available it will spell out the name returned from the network.
+ Slow talk feature works great, it really reduces the talking speed of the caller making the voice more discernible
+ Long battery life and charges quickly.
+ Easy to navigate menu
+ Loud speaker phone
+ Easy VoiceMail access (I can directly access my Vonage voice mail), this phone will even alert me of a new voice mail from my vonage service.
+ This phone can save pin numbers and other such data and input this information as and when you require in a call, this makes life so much easier
+ Answering machine is simple to operate and stores upto 18 minutes of messages
+ Decent phone book of upto 50 numbers (easy to save and retrieve numbers)
+ Large and bright display.
+ Phone is decently prices considering all the features it have especially the fact that it is expandable to 4 sets.
This phone is an absolute buy and will be more than suffice for all your home phone needs. I especially find that this phone is fully compatible with the extra features provided by Vonage, of-course this phone should work equally well with a fixed line phone network too.
Panasonic Supersonic.......2007-06-27
I've recently replaced my old cordless phone, a Uniden model with this Panasonic. The old phone seems to have a shelf life of three years, then the battery replacements no longer charge the phone. A waste of money; a point which the manufacturer negects to tell you. Other friends with the same brand phone have had identical failures. So far, the Panasonic works better than expected. It is easy to program and use. It has a multitude of settings, so you can customize it in many ways. I have caller ID, and it even has a function for a voice Caller ID. When there is an incoming call, a voice tells me who it is, so I can choose to answer it,or let the answering service pick it up. Neat!!! It is compact, and lightweight, and the keys are easy to use in one hand. The price is very reasonable, and I highly recommend this brand and model to anyone interested in purchasing a new phone, without breaking the budget.
