Useless Customer Service No Support.......2007-12-17
I bought this phone used and it had missing AC adapter. I was hoping to be able to obtain it somewhere as well as an user's manual. What a major disappointment - you'd expect that product from such a major manufacturer would have parts available everywhere, first class support, web site with all kinds of information - well... forget it! This telephone uses very unique power supply - 6VAC there is no way to find it anywhere. Manufacturer's web site is utterly useless. Customer service 800 numbers are backed up, representatives based i India or who knows where and offer very limited help if any, most likely they will send you to a Sears or RadioShack store. Yes this is a discontinued model but not that old and this lack of support raises concern for the current line of products from Thompson, GE and RCA - once they become discontinued are they to be junked? I know one thing - I won't take chances and stay clear of this manufacturer's line of products.

Many comments have already been made on this product. I can add a couple here:
Clarity: I'm on conference calls all the time. The voice quality is great. Unlike other speaker phones I used before, I can talk hands-free without people complaining about voice quality.
Volume: You can turn up volume really loud if you want to, -- a plus if you have to step away from the phone during conference calls.
Overall, the unit meets my expectation. And that's NOT a plain statement, because many phones have failed.

I have a small business (4 employees) and we really didn't need an actual phone system yet so I decided to give these try. It's funny though because when people walk in the office, they think it is a phone system because the phones look and function very well. I have had them for about 4 months now and so far so good!

IF YOU ARE GOING TO USE HOLD FEATURE OFTEN, RUN AWAY!! CHECKED WITH SUPPORT AND THERE SEEMS TO BE NO WAY OF DISABLING THIS ANNOYING "FEATURE".
OTHERWISE HAS ALL BASIC FUNCTIONALITY THAT YOU CAN EXPECT FOR A SMALL BUSINESS PHONE.

Good product for the price.......2007-12-28
I bought this KVM switch since it satisfied my specifications and had reasonably low price among similar others. I use it from time to time to switch between Dell notebook / WinXP Pro and Compaq workstation / WinXP Home, so far have no problems. The only inconvenience is the use of ScrollLock as a switching hotkey, which is different from double Ctrl, found in similar IOGear products.

In my home based computer/web design business, I often times work on PC's from family members or my customers. In the past, I would disconnect/reconnect cables from my PC to the PC I was trying to repair.
Needless to say, this was very inconvenient.
So, I purchased the IOGEAR PS/2 KVM Switch. This thing works great!
Absolutely simple to connect, no external power supply. It switches smoothly between my two computers with absolutely no flicker or loss of video. Video quality is superb. The keyboard and mouse work perfectly, even if I was working on one PC while the other was booting up.
I highly recommend this KVM Switch. Even if you just have a couple of computers at home or the office, this KVM Switch will make your life much easier and convenient.
If I had to describe this product in a single word, that word would be - Smooth...
Great, but beware USB/PS2 adapters.......2007-12-04
I bought this along with a non-IOGEAR adapter to convert 2xPS2 to USB, as my notebook has no PS2 connectors. The result was horrible. If you need an adapter, buy the IOGEAR GUC10KM adapter. The setup works like a dream. It isn't worth the hassle of buying a cheaper USB/PS2 converter that could be incompatible. I have it switching KVM between my home desktop and my notebook, which is then running in two-screen mode with external keyboard and mouse. Magic!

Now I can fix my neighbors and relatives computers here at my house and not have to disrupt my desktop setup. No more house calls. No more disconnecting and connecting, etc. I'm sure there is a reason to pay more for a better kvm switch or a kvm with usb but i purchased a cheapie usb adapter and now I can work on just about any pc or laptop with ease.
Great KVM switch.......2007-08-08
I purchased this KVM a couple of months ago, and I have been incredibly satisfied. The setup was extremely easy--just connect the generously long 6' cables to each of your two computers, and then connect your peripherals and monitor, and you're done! Like most KVM switches, there are no drivers to install, and the switch automatically switches between the computers with a quick double-tap of the scroll lock key. Other features I found useful is the auto scan feature, which will scan back and fourth between the computers at an interval you can set.
As for the performance, the video quality is very good--I found no flaws in the video it switched. As for the keyboard and mouse, both still work fine, and there is no keyboard error when I start up either computer because the KVM emulates a keyboard, so even when you are not viewing a particular computer it still believes there is a keyboard and mouse hooked up to it.
Overall this is a great purchase, and I would recommend this to anyone looking for a nice quality KVM without draining their wallet.
