Panasonic Phone.......2007-09-27
I bought this phone about a yera and a half ago or so. I had been a sony phone fan, but they do not make phones anymore. After doing research all over the net, I decided to buy this panasonic model. It usually has great clarity, but over the past few months I have started to notice some static....but it comes and goes. The past week or so I have noticed a weird echo, that I absolutely can't deal with. But the phone is pretty cool. It has a bunch of different rings tones, and you can assign different ring tones to different callers. You can go to this web site and buy rings tone and they upload to the phone without having to use any connection to the computer. It has the digital answerer, which if you are in another room, you can use the handset to listen to the messages if you want to screen the calls. The handset is smallish, easy to hold. I leave it off the charger for DAYS and the battery never seems to get low. So overall I really liked the phone a lot until this weird echo business. Another thing that it could use....I also have voice mail, and use the answerer to over ride the voice mail by having it pick up on two rings if I really want to screen, but if I shut off the answerer to use my voice mail, the only way to know if I have voice mail is to pick up the phone and listen for the message dial tone. There's not a little light that blinks to tell you that you have a voice mail like my last two phones did. Oh well. I will see if the echo goes away, and if it doesn't, I will probably look for another panasonic.
Wasted $80........2007-07-24
I bought this phone in Mar 2006 from another store- after researching phones on Amazon like mad. Within 3 months the mic died, and people couldn't hear me. I sent it to Panasonic- at my expense- and was rewarded with a refurbished phone.
It is now July 2007 [11 months since receving a rfurbished phone]. Over the last weeks the phone began cutting off calls, making crackling noises during calls, the mic has died, it will not work with a Panasonic-brand headset. After trouble-shooting the phone by myself using the Panasonic manual, I then called Panasonic. They had me go through all the same steps.
The upshot? Phone is dead.
I'm very angry. I had originally bought a multi-handset Panasonic, and discovered the handsets couldn't be used simultaneously, the sound quality was awful- so returned that for this simpler phone.
Now I don't know WHAT to do. We also have the Uniden exai5580, and it makes the most awful 'whooshing' noises if we change position while holding it.
I feel as though these products are made to have a short life.
Love this phone!.......2007-07-05
We love this phone! We did break the first one, my wife dropped it (after about 30 previous drops) and for some reason the ear piece quit working. We found a refurbished unit on Amazon for $30 and replaced it :)
Answering machine is perfect, it's very easy to use, digital, and has instantaneous button reaction if you don't want to listen to a certain message (you can skip messages like on a DVD player, NEXT, NEXT, NEXT).
Buy it, I recommend it!
Panasonic Phone.......2007-06-08
The phone works very well but the volume on the phone isnt high enough. The speaker volume is also low, and there is no way we can turn off the speaker while on call once we turn it on.
The best wireless phone I've owned.......2006-12-21
I love how this phone fits in my hand, the heft and key positions make it very easy to dial single-handed. The clarity is very good, and it does not interfere with our wi-fi networks. The phone has a long reach too, and I can walk down to our dock and maintain a conversation. A few features I really like: the legible phone book in the lcd panel, the message alert on the handset antenna--a nice design touch, and the fact I can first dial long numbers, verify on the screen, and then send. The controls are very easy and intuitive. Retrieving messages is a quick process. Great phone, and I'm sure there's an improved model by now.

great phone.. no problems here.......2006-01-13
I don't really use the answering machine, so I can't comment about that. The features that I liked that I used to pick this phone was the following:
- 2 line support
- Speaker Phone
- Mute button on both Handset and Station
- support for Headset
Each of these features delivered nice. The support for the headset has been causing me a few problems. People always complaining that my voice is to soft. I haven't figured out the "Voice Enhancer" feature.
Answering recording.......2005-09-21
The recording quality for the ansering feature is very poor. The sound is fuzzy no matter how close or far away you try to record from the speaker.
Great looks and features but record time is terrible!.......2005-09-16
I would highly rate this phone except for one critical flaw - the answering machine. My outgoing msg was only 15 seconds long but if someone called to leave a message, it would record only 25 seconds of it before hanging up. I called Panansonic to help troubleshoot but still experienced the same problems. I exchanged the phone only to find the same problem. I experimented by dropping the record time from 3min to 2min and reduced the phone book entries to 40 to see if it would make a difference. It did, it now records msgs for 1min 30sec, albeit inconsistently. I'm continuing to experiment to see how close I can get to 3 min because I really like this phone. If I see no improvements, I'm buying something else and am in the process of researching other models. Very disappointing as my "old" 900mhz phone worked perfectly for the last 7 yrs.
Great phone.......2005-06-21
I've had this phone for a week and so far am very pleased. For starters, I was surprised at how small this phone is and how easy it was to set up. It's very feature-rich, and the handset speakerphone was nice while I was on hold with a utility company yesterday. This phone has far less static than my 900 MHz cordless did, although voices sound a little odd when the Voice Enhancer technology is turned on (but that's easy to turn off). After using voice mail from the phone company for 7 years, I actually prefer the digital answering machine on this unit. Messages are clear, and it's nice to be able to press one button to hear messages as opposed to having to dial a number to hear them. And why pay for voice mail when this phone's answering system offers many of the same features, including remote message retrieval? In short, I'm quite pleased with this purchase.
Pretty good except for one critical flaw.......2005-06-03
This phone is pretty nice. It works well and has very pleasing audible tones. The menu system is nice and pretty intuitive but annoying in some areas.
But, it has one critical flaw. The remote access for the answering machine is a 2 digit number (no more), meaning that someone intent on stealing your messages could do so in 100 calls.
Worse, there's no way to turn it off; you MUST select a 2 digit number. In this age of identity theft there is no excuse for this pathetically-implemented feature.
That's what kills the phone, in my opinion.
