Too many failures - Can't recommend.......2007-12-26
We purchased these phones on the obvious feature of having 3 related but separate phones and chargers. The sound quality was not the best, but acceptable, especially if you use the feature to brighten the voice quality. Within 3 months, the base station unit died. We sent them in for warranty work, and were surprised to get back refurbished units.
We did not like it but figured, what the heck, given that the turn-around time for replacement was less than two weeks.
We are now about 9 months from that replacement, and the base unit has begun to malfunction. People call and can't hear us. We can't dial out, etc.
I am scrapping these, and returning to good old corded units that I can count on the performance and quality.

I bought these for my 88 y.o. Mother in order to put a phone where she needed it, as opposed to where the phone jacks were in the house. The flexibility is great. The sound quality and directory are great. I selected one of the musical rings, and she loves it! Could not be happier with the product.

The Panasonic KX-TG5623 phone set has very good sound quality and range. I have an 802.11G wireless network installed and I have the Panasonic base unit in a room with various other electronic devices (stereo, DVD, t.v.) and I detect no problems with interference. I can even leave the house and walk across the street before I lose the signal. When I walk back in range, it picks the signal up again.

NETGEAR's GS600 series switches are designed for use in a home and small office, housed in a compact white case that blends into your home decor. A fanless design keeps operation both silent and more reliable, and ports are located in the rear to reduce cable clutter. Each port has status LEDs for link and activity. The switch can be placed on a flat surface or vertically on the included stand.
Simple Setup and Stellar Performance
Plug in your Ethernet cables and connect a power cord, and you're ready to go. There is no software to install or settings to configure. The switch features auto negotiation, which automatically obtains the right speed and mode, and Auto Uplink adjusts for the different types of Ethernet cables. There is no need for toggle switches or special crossover cables. The device can seamlessly integrate 10, 100, and 1000 Mbps devices on the same network and honors Layer 2 priority tags.
All ports deliver up to 2000 Mbps speed and the switch supports 9,000 byte frames when set to support jumbo frames. There is a 1 Mb packet buffer memory and support for a MAC address database of 4,000.

No set up, no drivers, just plug and play. It plays well with my LaCie network attached storage drive and my Airport extreme base station connecting wirelessly to my Laptop. I am having some connectivity problems but I think I have ruled out the switch.

I have the Apple Airport Extreme Gigabit Router and although it is a great router it only has three gigabit ports. The Netgear 5 port gigabit switch solved the problem for me and now all five devices in my home office are happily communicating with this switch added. As with Apple products, "it just works." Highly recommended.

The installation was straight forward and simple. There was very little documentation, but it was not needed. Simply plug your devices into one end and the other end to the Switch; then plug the Switch into your router or hub.
