MINE WAS A WORKHORSE FOR YEARS!.......2007-08-12
I've had my 1376 for years. Loved it. As long as I replaced it in the charger, I had many two and three hour conversations(and a couple of four hour calls!) with no battery fade. Sound quality both in and out was crisp and clear at all times. It stopped holding memory after five years so I finally replaced it with Uniden 1976, but the incoming voice quality is not as clear and precise as the 1376 so I am here at Amazon to get a new 1376.
Uniden EXI376 900 MHz Cordless Phone.......2007-03-18
Good product, but like most all portable phones these days - way to bulky--don't hang this on a wall - too bulky - you will bump into it and it looks out of place it is so bulky!
Great phone for the price.......2006-05-16
We got this phone several years ago when our last cordless died. When we got it, it came with a second handset and charger base that you can put anywhere, without needing a phone jack - very handy! We keep one upstairs and one downstairs, even though they do get switched quite a bit. There's a nice variety of ringtones and volumes, which is helpful. I like the "page" button to help locate a lost phone. We've had no static or lost calls, I have even used it in our backyard. The only place we don't get great sound is the basement. These phones have stood up to all kinds of abuse, including my baby using them as chew toys - still work great. We have had them at least 2 years, probably longer and haven't replaced either battery yet. We set them on the chargers at night, though occasionally they get left off until they beep from low battery.
An excellent value for the money.
Good for its price, but wont last...........2004-06-08
bought this phone seeing the consumer reports best value.
it was pretty good for a year, now the sound quality is terrible and very staticy. so be prepared to replace it after a year, which isnt that terrible considering the price.
Inferior Quality.......2004-05-05
I am very disappointed in the quality of this model. I purchased two, and I'm returning both. Coverage is poor, and CID does not work in all outlets in my house. Very strange. Uniden customer service pretty much confirmed that this model isn't very good. I'm much more satisfied with my Panasonic. I'm going to order a couple more of them to replace the Unidens.

Customer Reviews:
It mostly works as advertised.......2007-11-17
THis switch was attractive to me because of its price. All I needed was a switch for video, keyboard and mouse. I do not need audio. As a video and keyboard switch, it works as advertised. However, with my PowerMac G5, and a Mac Mini, it cannot handle the Mighty Mouse. Most functions of the mouse do not work. So, I was forced to use two mice. While not too burdensome, it sure limits the functionality of the switch.
Video switching is great. USB (inc keyboard and mouse) is not........2007-10-19
I am using this on my macbook pro, a imac24 and a PC connecting a 24" Dell FPD. The video switching is great. USB is so bad that I have stopped using the built in USB switch. I have read the forums and tried many different things, but the USB just sometimes disappears. Sometimes they keyboard only registers every other keystroke. All I have plugged into the USB is the keyboard and the mouse. I am not satisfied with the USB switch at all.
Doesn't support VGA.......2007-08-27
Product is great with newer computers, but it's features are completely misleading when it comes to older computers with only a VGA video port. Apparently, it only supports DVI-i, rather than DVI-d. DVI-d has the ability to use that dvi-to-vga adapter, whereas DVI-i only supports digital. When trying to hook in an older computer, this switch becomes absolutely useless.
Avocent Switchview DVI.......2007-08-12
I needed a DVI switch that would allow me to share a single DVI based flat panel display. The Avocent switchviewDVI seems to work well with PC's and Macs.
I would have given it a 5 star rating, but it some times will get a little twitchy if one of the computers changes to a sleep mode. Usually all you have to do is press an alternate computer's switch, and then back to the original one and things seem to clear up immediately. Other than that it has been very stable. It also allows me to use one set of computer speakers which really helps alot. However, I do have to mention that you will have to buy some DVI cables and stereo audio cables since no cables are included with this switch.
doesn't work with Thinkpad Advanced Dock.......2007-07-31
i hooked up one 1600x1200 LCD to 2 computers: a desktop with nvidia 6150 integrated graphics and a laptop (lenovo T60p in a Thinkpad Advanced Dock). the desktop worked fine, the laptop could not detect the presence of the monitor, so it displayed a blank screen. a gefen switch works fine in the same situation.

Customer Reviews:
Works well when both monitors are on.......2007-12-08
Pros: The switch works fine, and I like the attached USB hub switch and audio switch, which can either be linked with the computer switching, or unlinked and "left behind" with one computer while switching to the other. Video and audio quality are fine. Works at 1920x1280.
Con: If both computers are on with live displays, it works fine. If one or other computers is completely off, or is disconnected, it works fine with the other computer. But if you are working on computer-A for 15 minutes, and computer-B decides to put its display in power-save mode, the switch erroneously routes the power-save to the monitor, blanking it out. Naturally, it requires switching the KVM to computer-B, jiggling the mouse to awaken the screen, and then switching back to computer-A to resume work. It's symmetrical - working on computer-B is equally troubled when computer-A decides to power-save.
Good video quality, poor USB kbd/mouse support.......2007-10-10
Keyboard and mouse were not recognized by IBM Thinkpad until relocated to USB hub ports, then hot-unplugged and replugged to get Windows to notice. This is also the solution for getting MS keyboard and mouse to be recognized by the MS Intellipoint/Intellitype software.
However, this means that other USB peripherals cannot be switched, as both hub ports are occupied. It also causes Windows to go through its hardware connect/disconnect cycle (noise and all) whenever you switch inputs. And last, it means no support for hotkeys to perform KVM functions, which forced me to relocate the switchbox within easy reach.
Though I am disappointed that it did not meet my expectations out-of-the-box, I might still have bought the unit if this had all been spelled out in advance. I've submitted a tech support request, and will follow up if they resolve these issues.
On the positive side, 1900x1200x32bpp@60Hz looks crystal clear through the switch and six extra feet of DVI cable, which was the primary purpose for replacing my VGA KVM.
Update: after a week of emailed suggestions and upgrading firmware, I am further from a working solution that when I started. The Thinkpad no longer sees the mouse and keyboard at all, and the console ports cannot be used, which means no emulation when unselected. Avocent says my equipment is not compatible with their switch, and sent a non-working link to their hardware compatibility list. Next stop: RMA request.
The damn thing just works!.......2007-06-13
I recently purchased this KVM to replace the AddLogix KVM, I'd been using for about a year. I had nothing but problems with the old KVM and decided it wasn't worth the aggravation. So, I bought the Avocent switchview DVI. I'm running two identicle Dell Dimension 8400's with all the bells and whistles with a Dell 24" monitor with the resolution set at max.(1920 X 1200). I see no degradation with the Avocent KVM even though their specs say they only support a lower max. resolution. What a pleasant suprise! The only thing I had to do was sync each computer to the Avocent, which is no more than letting my computers on #1 and #2 re-install the usb drivers for all of my devices, and with a 7 port USB hub plugged in, it took a while. Once that was done, I was up and running. I haven't tried any of the hot keys, as I don't see a need for them in my case. The KVM switch is only 16" from my hand, nice touch though. All in all, bottom line, the damn thing just works! It does what it's supposed to do, and a little more.
Works great (with workaround).......2007-05-02
First switch was defective. As soon as I completed the on-line return forms, Amazon immediately shipped out a replacement. In diagnosing the first defective switch, took avocent tech support a day and half to return my call.
The replacement switch works great. Drives my 24" monitor at 1920x1200. My microsoft wireless laser mouse 5000 was not supported, but when hooked to the switch's USB hub, I have full functionality of Intellipoint on both PCs.
Be carefull if you order the avocent cable kit. I was not aware that there are two DVI cable formats, a DVI-D and a DVI-I. A DVI-I port will accept both cables. A DVI-D port will NOT accept a DVI-I cable. This switch will accept either formats.
Fast switching. No hangs. Will save me a ton of time. Make sure to check Avocent's web site for firmware updates.
works so so, kinda wonky.......2007-01-12
I have an unusual setup:
I have a g4 laptop and a dell tower, both hooked up to 2 evoluent vertical mice (one left handed, one right handed), a microsoft ergo keyboard 4000, and a wacom intuous 3.
The tablet simply does not work when connected through the kvm. One of the mice consistently dies when connected through input 1. Periodically, the other mouse will die and the dead one will revive when switching. un plugging and re plugging brings them back.
My mac can't recognise the microsoft keyboard through input 1, even though there is a driver installed for it, and it recognizes it when it is directly connected.
Ocaisionally, the screen corrupts, switching back and forth fixes it...
If you have a fancy setup like mine with lots of sensitive input devices, splurge for something a little nicer.
