EXCELLENT CLOCK PERFECT SIZE.......2005-11-19

I have read most of the reviews on this clock and decided to write mine today as I have owned this clock for a little more than a year now and I can report factually about my experience. Firstly, the clock is, for me, a perfect size. I have it hung on the wall in my home office and i can see it clearly from anywhere in the room. Secondly, it has been self-adjusting and therefore keeping spot-on perfect time since I installed the battery. Thirdly, the temperature readout is spot-on as I have checked it's accuracy against my very accurate digital lab thermometer from Fisher Scientific. All this for under $25. I am buying several this year to give as holiday gifts to my techie friends. In conclusion, this is a terrific digital clock at a terrific price. I highly recommend it to all.

Great clock while it worked........2005-10-15

The clock is easy to read. It had no problem picking up the radio signal. Unfortunately, it died after 2 or 3 months.

Sky Scan stopped working.......2005-07-28

The outdoor sending unit stopped working after 6 months.
Called the 800 unmber on the back of the unit. They
have no warranty and could 'care less'.

Nice Clock, Wrong Design.......2005-07-28

I ordered this clock as a second clock to match the one that I already had, a shown in the picture. However, the clock that was delivered had a different plastic case design than what was pictured. It did have, however, the same LCD display and function as the clock I already have.

At first, I was not sure if it was going to be ok. But after the DST Change, it adjusted by itself and the time is always accurate. Now, I believe that it is a good clock to hang around the house.

Just thought I'd give my comments about this clock. No, I don't own any of their stock, or work for the company.

It is a great clock, indoor/outdoor thermometer, and day/month/date device. The moon phase is nice too once I figured out that a full black circle referred to a full moon. Who would have though?

I bought this clock for my home last year. It was a bit awkward to setup, eventually we did link up with the satellite and the time and date were synchronized with GMT.

I have read reviews on other atomic clocks, most of which find fault with the sync feature and/or the remote thermometer device. THIS CLOCK DOES NOT HAVE THOSE PROBLEMS!!

The SkyScan comes with a foldout table stand so that it can be either desk or wall mounted. There are options to select either 12 or 24-hour displays, Fahrenheit or Centigrade temperatures, Daylight Saving Time on or off, and weekdays displayed in English, French, Spanish, or German. Unfortunately, all option buttons are located on the back of the clock, this includes the alarm settings. While this makes for a cleaner appearance, it means that if the clock is wall mounted it must be removed to make any changes.

The wireless outdoor thermometer appears to work at least 250 feet from the base station without a problem. Both the transmitter and base unit require two AA batteries each. The transmitter comes with an included adhesive mounting pad, although its probably better to just set it on a flat surface so the batteries can be easily replaced when needed. The outdoor and indoor temperature sensors seem reasonably accurate; the indoor temperature display matched closely to a nearby mercury thermometer. Although the instructions recommend the clock be kept at least six feet away from any potential interference source, such as a TV or monitor, I've had no problem using it within four feet of a monitor.

The only difficulty I've experienced is that it took hours for the clock to synchronize with the NIST signal from Fort Collins when the batteries were first installed. Fortunately, the clock can be set manually, so it was still usable while waiting for the synchronization process to complete.

As the clock is less than a year old, I can't comment on its longevity; however, to date it has been trouble-free and accurate, and the batteries have not yet required changing.
