With two-line operation, you can conference in two outside lines to enjoy a three-way conversation, or you can place your current call on hold to make a second call. The result is a far more efficient phone system, especially when you have to juggle several projects at once. Fortunately for users, the two-line operation is just the beginning: the phone also includes such useful features as caller ID, a built-in speakerphone, and a three-line LCD display.
The caller ID/call waiting combo (subscription required) is particularly handy. Caller ID lets you see who's calling before you answer the phone, while call waiting lets you know when another call is coming in. By combining the two, however, users will learn who's calling even when they're currently in the middle of a conversation with someone else. When you hear the beep, simply look at the LCD display to identify the name and number. It's especially convenient when you're waiting for an important call but still have other calls to make.
The speakerphone, meanwhile, lets you field your calls hands-free. It's especially useful for group or business situations, such as during conference calls when others in the room need to be part of the conversation. Panasonic also added a 12-step volume control so everyone in the room can hear the discussion.
Finally, the LCD screen displays such data as call status, programming options, directory items, and caller ID names and numbers. And thanks to the three-line capacity, you don't need to scroll up or down to see the entire spectrum of information. Additional features include a 50-call memory and dialer, a voicemail message waiting indicator (subscription required), a data port, and a redial function.
The phone, which mounts conveniently on a wall to free up desk space or sits comfortably on the desktop, is backed by a 90-day warranty.

The phone works very well. It is very lightweight so it can move around easily if you pull hard on the handset cord. As a result, the phone has hit the ground a few times but it keeps on ticking. Regardless, overall I am happy with the phone. It satisfies my needs.
no MUTE function.......2006-10-26
I use a speakerphone often, and using one without a MUTE capability makes this phone useless to me. I quickly stopped using this phone.
