The full-color handset provides access to all the phone's important features, while an included USB cable allows you to download pictures to your handset for use as backgrounds, or as distinctive caller ID indicators. Twenty preset rings are provided, and an included audio cable lets you record your favorite songs or audio clips for use as ringtones. A built-in speakerphone and dual keypads means you can make calls with just the base, and a page button lets you quickly find a misplaced handset.
The last-number redial feature lets you quickly call any of the last 20 outgoing numbers, while a mute button lets you silence your end of the conversation while still allowing you to hear the other party. In DirectLink mode, handsets are able to act as two-way radios, and a room/baby monitor setting lets you monitor another handset location. An intercom function allows you to easily communicate with another handset, and four-way conference calling lets multiple handsets communicate with an outside line. Handset-to-handset call transfer easily routes incoming calls to another phone location.
The built-in digital answering machine has a 15-minute maximum recording time, with a 1 or 4-minute selectable maximum message length. You can access the answering machine from any registered handset, while remote message retrieval lets you keep on top of your messages even when you are away from home. Memo and conversation recording allow you to quickly record important information such as phone numbers or directions, and a built-in calendar with programmable reminders helps you to stay organized. The ELBT585 is also Bluetooth-enabled for compatibility with wireless Bluetooth headsets and comes backed with a one-year limited warranty.
Compatible Handsets
This expandable base system is compatible with Uniden handset models ELX500, TCX400, TCX440, and TCX805. However, only the ELX500 is compatible with Bluetooth.

Love this phone. It is everything it promises to be. The only small thing that could use some improvement is the speaker quality, but not a big deal. Great technology overall and highly recommended!
Bluetooth didn't work and software isn't Mac compatible.......2006-08-25
When I received my phone, the battery was defective. I ordered a replacement battery but still could not pair the phone to anything (I have plenty of experience with bluetooth pairing). Top it all off with the fact that the software only works on Windows, my only option to load phonebook entries into this phone would be manual entry. The interface of the flip phone was something out of the 1990s -- kludgy and childish. The available ring tones are from the same generation. Aside from the technical problems that I encountered, I thought this was a pretty lousy phone.
Great Phone.......2006-04-13
I bought this phone about a year ago when it first came out. Having been "hooked" by Bluetooth headsets when they first came out on the Ericsson T68i Cellphone, I was anxious to try a Desktop phone with buetooth.
I have not been disappointed with this phone. It pairs simply and successfully with Both my Jabra BT 500, as well as my BT 250V. I can literally be sitting at my desk at my home office, on a concall on the land line (uniden), and taking another call in the other ear from the cell phone (blackberry). This is great since being in software I have lots and lots of con calls to be on each day.
If I had one complaint, it would be battery life on the handset. I only seem to get about three hours of continuous talktime. The Jabra outlasts the handset 2.5 times!
Oh, and one other thing, while Bluetooth technology claims a distance of 10 meters, I have never been able to get this from a cell phone, not that big of a deal, as the phone is usually in the laptop bag or clipped to the belt. The uniden however, on a Bluetooth call, allows me to go from my office, all the way to my mailbox. Office is at the back of the house, so this is WAAAAAAY more than 10 meters. Has anyone else experienced this? I am wondering if you get more distance since the phone is plugged into an AC power source. All in all, this is a great phone, and I highly recommend it!
Works as a 2-line phone when registered w/ TRU-8866.......2006-02-28
I purchased this handset so that I could use my bluethooth headset with my Uniden 2-line TRU-8866 home phone system. The bluetooth headset worked as expected with the handset. The bonus is that I was able to register this handset with my 2-line TRU-8866 base station and the handset allows me access to both lines!
Uniden is doing a great job on these multi-handset / multi-line 5.8ghz phone sets!
Great implementation and easy to use.......2005-09-20
I have this phone paired with a Plantronics M2500 headset. The talk quality is great and while the distance is limited to about 10 feet, it is ok for me as long as you can use the belt clip to take the handset along for the ride.
The phone is very intuitive for those that have used cellphones in the past and I was able to do most of the set up without even looking at the manual. I had to refer to the manuals for bluetooth pairing and a few features that I could not make out, but within an hour, I had the phone set up, and even proceeded to record my own ringtones which is a nice feature. Just wish I could copy the same ring tones to the base.
For this first implementation of the bluetooth enabled home phone, I am pleasantly surprised that Uniden did such a fine job.

Good UHF reception, horrible VHF reception.......2006-12-31
I am about forty miles from the broadcast towers. The ANT301's UHF reception was very good but VHF reception is poor. It picked up one of the five VHF channels in the area. I disconnected the power and there was no difference in signal strength so it is no more "amplified" than a normal pair of rabbit ears. If you are looking for an inexpensive amplified antenna, the RCA ANT1250 is a better choice.
Great Value.......2006-10-01
I was trying to get local HD channels added to my dish network setup. I tried a directional NONamplified antenna and after 30 minutes of fiddling for the best angle, these are the signal strength numbers I got:
Fox - 68%
CBS - 63%
ABC - 59%
Fox was the only one that was watchable at this strength. I bought the ANT301 and plugged it in and after about 5 minutes of fiddling, here are the new strengths:
Fox - 78%
CBS - 83%
ABC - 73%
All three channels are watchable now with no issues. I would recommend this antenna if you are just within range of your HD channels and want to get a better signal. It wont work miracles, but it does improve the signal over nonamplified antennas.
No better reception than a coax cable.......2006-08-24
I decided to get rid of cable (too expensive). Living in downtown Milwaukee, I should probably get many channels with an antenna )(one would think). Unfortunately, I didn' have one. So, at first, I hooked up a two three foot coax cables to a splitter (to create a dipole type thing) and I hooked this up to the TV. I got okay reception from this. Time to pick up an antenna.
I just bought the 301 from best buy. The sales dude said it was the best on the market and he had no complaints or returns. Hooked it up in place of my coax cable contraption. It faired just as well, if not worse.
I am returning the antenna and getting the 25 channel cable plan for $13.00 (the one they don't tell you about).
Good, but probably could be better........2006-08-21
With this antenna, hi definition channels look really good. I disagree with the other reviews where they say that it works better without being plugged in. When I unplug it, my signal immediately dies. Another problem I found is that sometimes when I walk by the antenna, the picture on the tv can skip, this also happens on windy days. Also, the unit doesnt come with any instructions, which was disappointing. If you do buy this antenna, you have to run the "Channel search" feature on your TV or else you will get NOTHING, I was forced to figure that out by myself. For $15 with free shipping, this has been a worthy purchase.
Over-Priced.......2006-03-19
I bought this to improve the reception of the ANT110, a much cheaper model that had good reception overall but I wanted much more. I spent $30 for the ANT301 and overall it was not worth the cost. I plugged in the amplifier and it actually made things WORSE. But when I removed the amplifier I got much better reception, but the $20 ANT103 is the same thing with no amplifier so it has similar reception. If your looking for great reception go with Trek's version but if you are looking for decent reception go with the ANT103. For this, avoid it, it's overpriced and the amplifier is worse than a push-pin.
